Abstract

In this paper, its discussed about the model re-training for workers in a company. To improve the quality of workers is usually held training (training) for workers, especially new workers or junior employees. However it is also the possibility of retraining for workers who decline spirit. The condition was one of the bases in formulating a model of retraining for workers in a company. Mathematical models for retraining discussed is a model re-training for workers based on an assessment of his colleagues. This model is shaped system of differential equations. In this model there are two equilibrium points namely the trivial equilibrium point and non-trivial equilibrium point. Local stability of the trivial equilibrium point of time fulfilled the conditions of the reproductive number is essentially less than one. This means that for a long time a good worker does not need to be a master so that workers do not re-training. Numerical simulation is given by taking the value of certain parameters that describe the changes in population size of each class of a time.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students who use the method of recitation by using the drill method in class XI student IPS MAN Gandekan Bantul in second Semester Academic Year 2010/2011. The populations in this study are all students class XI IPS MAN Gandekan Bantul in second Semester Academic Year 2010/2011 which consists of 3 classes. The sampling technique used random cluster sampling technique and the sample in this study was taken two classes, namely class XI IPS 2 as the experimental class and class XI IPS 1 as the control class. Data collecting technique is documentation method to determine the ability of students, the test method to determine mathematics student learning outcomes. To test the validity of test instruments used, distinguishing features and reliability. Data analysis used the t-test two parties and one party t-test. Results showed no differences between the results of learning mathematics using method of recitation and drill method in class XI student of  second Semester  MAN IPS Gandekan Bantul School Year 2010/2011, is shown from the results of the t-test with the two parties t_count (5.59139)> t_tabel (2.40155) at 53 degrees of freedom significant level of 5%. The results also showed that the use of the recitation method is more effective than the use of the drill method in improving students mathematics learning outcomes, shown in the t-test results of one party with t_count (5.59139)> t_tabel (0.16055) at 53 degrees of freedom significant level 5 %.

Abstract

One of the learning model used is the direct teaching of teachers. In this model teachers usually to used traditional lecture method with little questioning and accompanied by the assignment, so that the teacher is not giving the opportunity for students to interact and cooperate with others. As a result of this study pretended to be one way, it is means that the teachers provides information or ideas, and students take it for granted. Such a learning model does not involve students actively. Many problems in daily life that can be expressed in mathematical form of the sentence. With the sentence of the problem or idea of mathematics more practical, systematic and efficient to communicated and solve. However, based on observation and discussion researcher and many mathematics teachers SMPN 3 Taman was still a lot of students who have difficulty in completing the topic. This research is descriptive research that describes or explains the event. The research is done at SMPN 3 Taman Sidoarjo and the subject of the research is students of class VII B. The purpose of this research is to describe the student’s result, student’s activities and student’s response to cooperative learning STAD type. Based on data analysis, it is known to student’s learning completeness is 81,58 %. This shows that classically student’s learning is complete. Students activities during teaching-learning can be said active with average percentage of activity by 86,06 %, Students give positive response to the average percentage of 86,842 %.

Abstract

Understanding of concepts, of students not optimal while learning process in math department caused by less variation of teaching method. The effort to solve these problem by using cooperative learning model. The purpose of this research was to know the student’s: 1) understanding of consept, communication ability, problem solving of math students follow learning cooperative learning model type STAD better than understanding of concept, communication ability, problem solving ability of students attending a convensional learning.This research imposition made STKIP PGRI Padang students taking courses in Ordinary Differential Equations 2010/2011 academic year. Experimental research done to compare two treatment through sample class. Data were collected through the test results of study and observation. Results of analysis of data showed that Understanding math concepts students attending a model of cooperative learning type STAD better than understanding of math concepts of students attending conventional.

Abstract

This paper was prepared to analyze the effectiveness of government policies to increase the use of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) based on data obtained from the Pusat Data dan Informasi Energi Sumber Daya Mineral (Pusdatin ESDM). the rate of  EBT use in Indonesia is still low, recorded in 2010 remains at the 5% level. The Indonesian government seeks to encourage the increased use of renewable energy by at least 17% by 2025 (Presidential Decree No. 5/2006). By calculating the approximation of energy supply portion in  future based on the trends of energy supply portion changes  from year 2006-2010, it was concluded that the existing government policy now is not effective enough to increase new and renewable energy use as targeted by the government. from the approximation, it was calculated that supply of new and renewable energy in 2025 still amounted to 8.12% of the total energy supply. Through the optimization calculations using the simplex method, it was concluded that in order to achieve the target of new and renewable energy use by at least 17% by 2025, it would require the government policy to reduce the share of oil supply for a minimum of 1.989% per annum of the total energy supply as well as increasing the share of new and renewable energy supply a minimum of 0.903% per annum of the total energy supply. Addition and subtraction portion of each type of energy should not reduce the total supply of energy, because the national energy demand is increasing by years.   Key words: EBT, Pusdatin ESDM, the portion of energy supply, approximation, the simplex method.

Abstract

  Mathematics education can not be separated from mathematics itself. Therefore, to assess the contribution of learning mathematics in the development of the character of the noble learners would be better if it first revealed the characteristics of the object of abstract mathematics, symbols empty of meaning, agreements and axiomatic deductive reasoning, and anti contradiction. The purpose of mathematics education must consider (1) the formal objectives, namely the arrangement of reason and the formation of the childs personality, and (2) the purpose of any material is the application of mathematics and mathematical skills. Some moral values ??in the learning of mathematics that deals with the characteristics of the mathematics that can be integrated with the Quran include: agreement, ketaatasasan / consistency, deduction, universe. Culture and Education Programme Nation character contains 18 values ??are developed, namely: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, the spirit of nationalism, patriotism, respect for achievement, friendship / komuniktif, love peace, love reading, environmental care, social care, and responsibility. Abstract

In daily life, people are always having problems. The problem has many solutions or a solution only to solve it. In learning mathematics, there is open-ended problem that is also a problem that has many ways of solving. Polya (1973) argues that there are four steps in solving the problem. They are: (1) understand the problem (understanding the problem), (2) make a plan (devising a plan), (3) implementation (carrying out the plan), (4) re-examine (looking back). By seeing the results of several studies suggest that the ability level of students affect the process of solving math problems. Based on this background then, the problem that also the focus of this research was "How the profiles of the problem solving mathematical junior open class VIII student based on his mathematical abilities?."

Abstract

The confidential information that sent via an insecure communication channels like the internet, have a greater risk to be tapped by the parties are not entitled to know the confidential information. One of the things that can be done is to encrypt information into code that can not be understood. Art and science to keep the confidentiality of information is called cryptography. Historically, cryptography has been used since ancient Roman times, world war, until the digital age and information technology as it is today. From the beginning of its development, the method used for the encoding process using simple calculations. Along with the development of technology, the methods used are also growing, such as the use of computers with mathematical calculations are complicated. One area of ??Mathematics that has a very important role in cryptography is algebra. Many of the methods used in cryptography using algebraic operations are defined over an algebraic structure, as in the group, ring and field. In this paper, its discussed about several applications of algebra that used in cryptography, especially on the structure of algebra (abstract algebra) and linear algebra. Given cryptographic method is Caesar cipher, shift cipher, permutation cipher, Hill cipher, ElGamal and RSA.

Abstract

This paper focuses on a Grade 4 mathematics intervention that has been developed and implemented in grade four of primary school in Surabaya, Indonesia. The theory of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) has been applied in a sequence of instructional activities, which aims to assist low attaining learners in supporting students’ thinking in the addition of fractions. Based on the premise that eliciting and addressing learners’ alternative conceptions in mathematics is beneficial in assisting them to improve their understanding, the paper seeks to explore the role that RME plays pertaining to this particular supposition. The paper presents and discusses examples of learners’ responses to contextual problems given to them during the course of the instructional activities.

Abstract

Suppose X Poisson distributed with parameter ?. This journal aims to determine the confidence interval for the average Bayesian Poisson distribution with parameter ?. The research method used in this discussion is a method of literary study. Prior distributions are used to determine the posterior distribution is the distribution of Jeffrey. To facilitate the calculation of confidence intervals of the Bayesian 100 (1 - ?)% for the parameter ? used MATLAB program. The performance of the confidence interval for the average Bayesian Poisson distribution in a test using simulated data. As an example of the application was applied to stop the Trans Jogja Kusuma Negara 3.
