Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peningkatan kompetensi kimia dengan model pembelajaran PLTL berbantuan LKS berbasis inkuiri. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas XI IPA suatu SMA Negeri di Semarang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling, yakni kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai eksperimen I dengan perlakuan model pembelajaran PLTL berbantuan LKS berbasis inkuiri, kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai eksperimen II dengan LKS berbasis inkuiri, dan kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kontrol dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi pada pokok materi buffer dan hidrolisis. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode dokumentasi, tes, observasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan kognitif yang signifikan antara kelas XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, dan XI IPA 3. Kelas eksperimen I memiliki peningkatan kompetensi kimia yang paling signifikan dengan rerata hasil belajar sebesar 87,5, sedangkan kelas eksperimen II memiliki rerata hasil belajar 83,43, dan kelas kontrol dengan rerata hasil belajar 77,35. Hasil respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menunjukan frekuensi terbanyak pada kolom setuju dan sangat setuju sehingga siswa menyukai model pembelajaran yang digunakan. Simpulan penelitian ini 1) terdapat perbedaan signifikan kompetensi kimia antara kelas eksperimen I, II dan kontrol, 2) peningkatan kompetensi kimia yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen I, 3) respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran baik. This research aims for knowing chemistry competence’s improving by application of PLTL model with Worksheet based on inquiry. The populations are XI grades natural sciences students of an high school in Semarang. Samples were taken by cluster random sampling and got XI IPA 1 as an experimental class I by application of PLTL model with Worksheet based on Inquiry while XI IPA 2 as an experimental class II by using Worksheet based on Inquiry, and XI IPA 3 as a control group using lecture and discussion on the subject buffer and hydrolysis. Data collecting used some methods as documentations, tests, observation, and questionnaire. Research result shown significant difference on cognitive aspect of XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, and XI IPA 3. The most significant improvement by 1st experimental class resulted average score 87.5, experimental class II has average score 83,43, and control class has average score 77.35. Students response by application of model show most answer in agree and very agree columns mean students like learning model used. Conclusions are 1) there are significant difference on chemistry competence between experiment I, II and control classes, 2) the most chemistry competence improvement in experimental class I, 3) students responses are good.

Abstract

Chemistry is categorized as a subject that is quite difficult for high school students. To understand chemistry, students must have representational abilities. There is a positive correlation between spatial visual ability and learning outcomes on material that uses the ability of the imagination of objects in space. This capability can be supported by the presence of interactive multimedia. Interactive multimedia is needed as a learning media to improve student understanding of certain materials. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of interactive multimedia on ionic bonding material in terms of student learning outcomes. The research design used in this study is one group pretest - posttest design system. The instrument was a learning achievement test sheet that tested on 12 high school students. The results showed that the test of learning outcomes obtained N-gain value with a range of 0.8-1.0 with high score criteria. This result proves that the interactive multimedia ionic bond material is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Understanding the chemistry concept should be demonstrated by the ability to transfer and connect levels of chemical representation. This study aimed to produce DARTs-worksheets containing multiple levels of representation as learning media to improve critical thinking ability. The research used the RD procedure including define-design-develop stages. One group pretest-posttest design is applied at the develop stage as a form of guarantee of worksheet quality. Data was collected through test techniques (critical thinking ability) as well as non-tests (assessment of the feasibility by experts, students and educators; activity observations; as well as interviews). The subject involved 49 pre-service chemistry teachers at two universities. The results showed that (1) it was produced four worksheets with characteristics that could be viewed from critical thinking skills, DARTs activities, and multiple levels of representation; (2) the DARTs worksheet got a positive rating, the level of "good and very good" for didactic, construction, and technical requirements, and showed the level of readability at the "high" level; (3) worksheets directed activities that indicate an increase in critical thinking ability. Important implications of this study indicated the need to uncover the symbolic learning patterns of chemistry by chemistry teachers in high school, especially compound nomenclature material, chemical reaction equations, and interpretation of graphs, tables, and curves.

Abstract

Metode diskusi dalam pembelajaran dapat membangkitkan minat, motivasi, dan karakter siswa sehingga metode diskusi dipandang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakter siswa yang muncul pada pembelajaran kimia berbasis teknologi informasi menggunakan metode diskusi kompetensi konsep mol siswa SMK. Penelitian dilakukan di suatu SMK swasta di Pati tahun pelajaran 2013/2014.  Populasi penelitian ini siswa kelas X Teknik Mesin Otomotif. Desain yang digunakan yaitu one group design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah teknik sampling jenuh/ sensus karena semua anggota populasi merupakan sampel dan sampel kurang dari 30 orang. Sampel penelitian ini  terdiri dari 22 orang. Metode pengumpulan data adalah observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil rata-rata skor diskusi dan psikomotorik sebesar 18 dan 13 yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Nilai rata-rata karakter sebesar 21 dengan kategori baik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada delapan karakter siswa muncul selama pembelajaran berbasis teknologi informasi dengan metode diskusi. Enam karakter yang muncul berada dalam kategori baik dan dua karakter dalam kategori cukup. Nilai karakter yang muncul yaitu aktif, bekerjasama, rasa ingin tahu, tanggung jawab, kritis, percaya diri, demokratis, dan terampil.

Abstract

Learning activity will be fun and optimal when applied using an appropriate learning media. One approach that can be used by teachers in teaching is the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet. This study aimed to determine whether the use of the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet have significant effect on student learning outcomes in subject of hydrocarbons and wether it have  effectiveness after it applied on an high school student in Semarang. This study uses a real experiment design. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling, one class was as an experimental class using the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet while one class was as a control class using conventional methods. The intake of data research were obtained through the method of documentation, testing, observation and questionnaires. The average grade of post test in experimental class is 86.80 while in control class is 80.64. Hypothesis testing obtained t count (4,858) t table (1,99), which means that an average grade of cognitive learning outcomes in experiment class was better than the control class. It can be concluded that the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet had an effect on chemistry learning outcomes of hydrocarbon subject and it increase the effectiveness of student learning.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan bekerja ilmiah siswa kelas XI MIA 2 SMA 1 Bae Kudus menggunakan model pembelajaran Group Investigation (GI) berbantuan Lembar Kegiatan Sisiwa (LKS). Penelitian terlaksanadalam tiga siklus.Keberhasilan pembelajaran diukur dengan observasi, tes dan dokumentasi.Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif persentase. Nilai rata-rata klasikal siklus I,II dan III berturut-turut adalah  71,22; 75,09; dan 84,50 sedangkan rasio ketuntasan klasikalnyaadalah 18/32; 20/32; dan 28/32. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek kognitif siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I hingga siklus III.Rata-rata setiap aspek sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan bekerja ilmiah siswa meningkat dari kriteria rendah pada siklus I menjadi sedang pada siklus II dan tinggi pada siklus III.Selain itu juga sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan bekerja ilmiah siswa dari siklus I hingga III mengalami peningkatan pada setiap aspeknya.Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapatdisimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Group Investigationberbantuan LKS dapat meningkatkan sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan bekerja ilmiah siswa kelas XI MIA 2 SMA 1 Bae Kudus.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan life skill siswa dengan hasilbelajar termasuk di dalamnya, dengan menerapkan pendekatan chemo-entrepreneurship(CEP) berorientasi green chemistry. Fokus yang diteliti adalah untuk meningkatkankemampuan life skill dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan pendekatan CEPberorientasi green chemistry. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil penelitian pada siklus Idiperoleh rata-rata nilai dan ketuntasan life skill siswa masing-masing adalah 53,55 dan65% dengan kriteria sedang, pada siklus II meningkat dibandingkan siklus I dengan kriteriabaik, serta rata-rata nilai dan ketuntasan life skill siswa menjadi 60,025 dan 92,5%. Padasiklus III meningkat dibandingkan siklus II, yaitu kemampuan life skill siswa tergolong baikyaitu diperoleh nilai rata-rata dan ketuntasan life skill masing-masing sebesar 63,64 dan100%. Rata-rata nilai kognitif siswa pada siklus I adalah 65,49 dengan ketuntasan 70%, padasiklus II ketuntasan klasikal hasil belajar kognitif meningkat sebesar 12,5% yaitu dari 70%menjadi 82,5% sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas menjadi 70,99. Pada siklus III ketuntasanklasikal hasil belajar kognitif meningkat 17,5% dari siklus II yaitu dari 82,5% menjadi100% serta nilai rata-rata kelas menjadi 75. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwadengan menggunakan pendekatan CEP berorientasi green chemistry dapat meningkatkankemampuan life skill siswa dan hasil belajar siswa. Kata Kunci : chemo-entrepreneurship, life skill, green chemistry

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan memberdayakan siswa membuat siswa /ebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Cara yang bisa dilakukan guru adalah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembe/ajaran kooperatif tipe TGT berbantuan media kartu terhadap hasil be/ajar. Penelitian menggunakan populasi siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tengaran tahun ajaran 200912010. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Analisis tahap awal menunjukkan bahwa populasi memiliki tingkat homogenitas sama dan data terdistribusi nonnal. Setelah perlakuan, didapatkan rata-rata hasil be/ajar kelompok eksperimen lebih baik daripada kontrol yaitu sebesar 78, 19 dan 69,88. Uji perbedaan rata-rata hasil be/ajar diperoleh thitung (4, 76) t,abet (1,99), sehingga terdapat perbedaan hasil be/ajar antar kelompok. Uji korelasi diperoleh harga koefisien korelasi biserial (r J sebesar 0, 58 dan nilai SEm *1, 96 = 0, 2683. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa harga rb (0,58) SErb *1,96 (0,2683), sehingga korelasi antardua variabel signifikan dan koefisien determinasi sebesar 33, 63%. Kelompok eksperimen mencapai ketuntasan be/ajar klasikal sedangkan kontrol be/um. Pada rata-rata nilai afektif dan psikomotorik, kelompok eksperimen mencapai nilai lebih baik daripada kontrol. Berdasarkan angket pendapat siswa dipero/eh rata-rata siswa setuju dengan penerapan model pembelajaran ini dan disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT berbantuan media berpengaruh terhadap hasil be/ajar.

Abstract

Practicum based learning with project orientation used learning by doing principle  namely process of learning outcome by doing action so could encourage students to actively study and construct their understanding. The aim of this research is to know the increasing of student’s science process skill and chemistry concept understands. Design of research is posttest only control design and samples were taken with a cluster random sampling technique, obtained the first experimental class XI IPA3, the second experimental 2 class XI IPA4. The means of test result about concept understanding of first experimental class is 85.23 and second experimental class is 78.69. The test results showed t 2.40 bigger than t  2.002 for 57 degrees of freedom and 5% significance level. It has been concluded that the average value of the postest of first experimental class is better than the second experimental class. Student’s process skill analyzed by one-way variants analysis, resulted F 10,91 bigger than F   4,01 and by scheffe methods resulted F 10,90 bigger than F critic  4,01 for practicum 1 and F 48,04  bigger than Fcritic  4,01 and by scheffe methods resulted F 48,15 bigger than F  4,01 for practicum 2. The average of student’s science process skill of first experimental class is better than the second one.Keywords: Concept Understanding, Practicum Based Learning With Project Orientation, Science Process Skills.

Abstract

As chemistry teacher candidates, chemistry education students should have a complete mental model, including alcohol. But in reality, 42% of prospective chemistry teacher students at one of the state universities found that alcohol material was difficult to understand. These difficulties are indicators of the lack of mental models of the chemistry teacher candidates. This study aims to explore the types of mental models of prospective chemistry teachers on alcohol material. This research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were students of the Department of Chemistry Education in 2016. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The number of samples determined was 12 students with different levels of understanding. Mental model excavations were performed using the Diagnostic Test Mental-Interview About Event (TDM-IAE). The diagnostic test consists of open-ended questions, drawing submicroscopic representation activities, and interviews. The results showed that in general chemistry teacher candidates had a synthetic mental model with a percentage of 66.66% verbal description answers. In the picture answers, all chemistry teacher candidates have a synthetic mental model.
