Abstract

The 2006 curriculum known as KTSP demands the change of paradigm in theworld of teaching and learning including in learning social science. Some teachingand learning activities done by the teachers are still using the lecturing method whichpositioning the teachers as the centre of information. Therefore, as the writers of thisresearch, we try to apply a learning method by using in order to stimulate thestudents' activities and critical thinking. This research was aimed to find out whetherthere was a significant difference in the result of social science learning of junior highschool students which was done through lecturing method and mind map, especiallytoward certain material such as The research method conducted for thispurpose was an experiment using research designThe variables consisted of independent variable (i.e. theimplementation of mind map method toward learning process about ),and dependent variable (i.e. students' activities and test result). The population for thisresearch was the VIII (eighth) grade students of State Junior High School 30,Semarang.As the sample of research, we chose two classes randomly. One was taughtby using a mind map method treatment and another, control class, by using variedlecturing method. The result of this research showed that the learning result oftreatment/experiment class was 76.67 in average, with the highest score 90.00 and thelowest 60.00. This was significantly different from the control class which scored72.83 in average, with the highest score 86.67 and the lowest 60.00. Thus, the result ofthe experiment classwas better than the control class.Kata kunci: Mind map,KTSP, pembelajaran IPS

Abstract

Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) merupakan kompetensi spesifik guru yang merupakan paduan antara pengetahuan konten dan pedagogik yang berkembang seiring waktu dan pengalaman. Melalui pembelajaran, PCK calon guru dapat dioptimalkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis profil kemampuan PCK calon guru Biologi FMIPA UNNES. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan PCK calon guru biologi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang menempuh Mata Kuliah Microteaching pada semester genap 2016/2017. Profil PCK calon guru diperoleh dengan menganalisis instrumen CoRe dan PaPeR. Berdasarkan analisis CoRe dan PaPeR menunjukkan hal-hal berikut: Materi yang banyak dipilih untuk microteaching adalah materi kelas XI (58%), materi kelas X (31%), dan materi kelas XII (12%).  Jumlah ide besar untuk mengembangkan materi ajar ada 3 sampai 5. Calon guru biologi sudah baik dalam mengelola waktu mengajar dan sudah baik kemampuannya dalam memilih strategi pembelajaran (85%). Ada 62% calon guru memiliki penguasaan konsep dengan benar, sedangkan 38% memiliki penguasaan konsep yang tidak mendalam, dan ada yang mengarah pada miskonsepsi. Ada 77% calon guru menunjukkan kesulitan dalam mengelola kelas yang efektif. Calon guru belum memanfaatkan media secara maksimal, diantaranya dalam menciptakan interaksi siswa dengan media pembelajaran. Simpulan penelitian ini bahwa kemampuan PCK calon guru Biologi perlu dioptimalkan dalam beberapa aspek konten dan pedagogik.Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) is a kind of spesific competency which is a combination of pedagogical and content knowledge and improved throughout times and experiences. This improvement can be achieved together with the learning process. The purpose of this research was to analyzed the PCK profile of prospective Biology teacher within FMIPA UNNES. The analysis was done descriptively with student of Microteaching course during second semester of 2016/2017 as the research subjects. The profile of the PCK was gained by using CoRe and PaPeR. The evaluation of CoRe and PaPeR showed that the frequently choosen Biology substances for Microteaching are the substances of 11th grade (58%), 10th grade (31%), and 12th grade (12%). The main idea to develop learning material was ranging from 3 to 5. The prospective Biology teacher has already been capable enough in teaching time management and learning strategy selection (85%). There was 62 % prospective teacher with appropriate perceptive among Biology concepts and only 38% with lack or even mistaken concept. 77% prospective teacher was having trouble in effectively handling the class. Most of them has not maximally used media, including in the creation of student and media interaction. It was concluded that the prospective teacher PCK was can be optimized in many aspect of pedadogic and content.

Abstract

Uji sertifikasi DELF Tingkat B1 adalah persyaratan bagi lulusan departemen Perancis. Uji sertifikasi ini diberikan oleh semua universitas besar di Indonesia. Tingkat B1 penting bagi peserta didik dari Prancis yang sering digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai apakah simulasi global dapat berkontribusi terhadap keberhasilan siswa dalam ujian berbicara DELF. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi berbicara menigkat melalui skenario pembelajaran menggunakan simulasi global. Peningkatan kemampuan berbicara 1,13 poin dibandingkan dengan rata-rata pre-test adalah 14,5 sedangkan post-test 16,36 dari 25 poin maksimal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kami menyimpulkan bahwa simulasi global yang memberikan kontribusi untuk akuisisi kompetensi di uji produksi DELF lisan.   The test DELF Level B1 certification is requirement for graduates of the French department. It has been given by all the major universities in Indonesia. This level is important for learners of French to the reason for the frequent use in daily life. The purpose of this research is to assess whether the global simulation could contribute to student success in the DELF’ speaking test. The result of data analysis has shown that the speaking competence improved through the learning scenario using the global simulation. The jurisdiction of the oral production increases by 1.13 points by comparing the mean pre-test is 14.5 while the post-test 16.36 of 25 points maximal. Based on the results of research, we conclude that global simulation contributes to the acquisition of competence in oral production test DELF.

Abstract

The current important government's policy (Depdiknas) is that the departmentincreases the number of vocational high school students (SMK) so that it is higherthan the number of general senior high school students (SMA). The ratio of SMK andSMA students in 2010 would be around 50:50, and in 2015 around 70: 30. Theimplication of the policy is that the t ratio of SMK and SMA teachers should ideallyalso be equal to the students of SMK and SMA. The need of SMK teachers is notmerely a quantitative matter but also qualitative one. SMK teachers should bequalified and have a competence relevant with the programs offered at the school. Tofulfill the need of SMK teachers, there should be an agreement with other institutionsespecially the institutions which produce SMK teachers.Kata kunci: perluasan, kebutuhan, guru SMK

Abstract

In developing the language teaching evaluation system, communicative competence must be the most important thing to refer to. Thus, it is clear that the grading system used by elementary school teachers needs to be evaluated. The proses of datas analysis were focused on writing skill evaluation design which was appropriate to contextual approach and class based grading. The conclusion of this research was that the writing skill evaluation used by elementary student in Magelang was not the same, every group based on different teaching manual plan or “RPP”, and different manual books. The way and the time for evaluation were also different. The type of questions for writing skill evaluation in Magelang elementary school were multiple choices, short question and essay. There are some evaluations and writing skill type questions which were appropriate with the basic evaluation on teaching manual plan and which were inappropriate with it. The character of contextual approach was not fix with the teaching manual plan given. The teaching evaluation system applied contextual approach, while the technique of grading applied the class based grading with the minimum quality. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) untuk mengetahui apakah aktivitas belajar materi kebangkitan nasional siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Gabus tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 dapat ditingkatkan melalui kombinasi pembelajaran saintifik dengan model CTL, dan (2) untuk mengetahui apakah hasil belajar materi kebangkitan nasional siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Gabus tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 dapat ditingkatkan melalui kombinasi pembelajaran saintifik dengan model CTL.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan,  pengamatan dan refleksi. Pada akhir pelaksanaan siklus II, aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 72 (siklus I) menjadi 81 (siklus II). Sedangkan hasil belajar siswa juga telah mencapai kriteria minimal yang diharapkan yakni kriteria baik dengan rata-rata nilai sebesar 80.Simpulan dari penelitian ini antara lain: (1) aktivitas belajar materi kebangkitan nasional siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Gabus tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 terbukti dapat ditingkatkan melalui kombinasi pembelajaran saintifik dengan model CTL, dan (2) hasil belajar materi kebangkitan nasional siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Gabus tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 juga terbukti dapat ditingkatkan melalui kombinasi pembelajaran saintifik dengan model CTL.

Abstract

Artikel ini berfokus pada bagaimana pengajar bahasa mempunyai potensi untuk menjadi guru professional ketika mereka diberi kesempatan dan memahami konsep professional coaching. Data penelitian didapatkan dari sebuah studi kasus yang diperoleh peneliti dari sebuah perusahaan BUMN ketika mereka melatih perusahaan tersebut, melalui sebuah program terstruktur dengan menggunakan konsep pembentuan coaching team dan pribadi yang professional. Penelitian ini diharapkan bisa membantu para guru dari latar belakang bahasa maupun disiplin ilmu yang lain untuk mengadopsi siklus pembelajaran professional untuk memperbaiki performa pengajaran mereka dikelas maupun diluar kelas. This paper will focus on how language teachers have the potentials to smoothly transform into professional coaches when they are given the right opportunity and understand the concepts of professional coaching. The data of the research are collected from a case study conducted by the researchers while they coached a team from an Indonesian State Company through a structured program using the concepts of personal and team development coaching. The study is expected to help teachers from language teaching background (or any other fields) to adopt professional coaching cycles to improve their teaching performance inside and outside the classrooms.

Stakeholders have high expectation on natural sciences education to makestudents ready to compete in the fast changing world. To meet the expectation, thenatural sciences education needs an educational supervision to assure its quality. Thearticle will discuss a model characterized by professional collegial dialogues. It meansthat the dialogues must be democratic, equal and respecting each other according totheir position. This model has an important role in the school-based management. Abstract

It is a fact that there are some amazing differences between British English (BrE) and American English (AmE) such as spelling, meaning, pronunciation, usage, and even vocabulary. The two varieties of English, as a matter of fact, are often confusing especially who study and use English as second and foreign language. Because of their differences and distinctive features, the speakers often find difficulties which one to use. This condition, then can lead to misunderstanding and misinformation and this finally causes ineffective communication.  This paper is attempting to review the unique features of BrEand  AmEfocusing on the vocabulary.

Abstract

It is an undeniable fact that most of our students nowadays can enjoy havingnew technology either at homes or at schools. For this, it is quite possible for them tohave ICT for learning. The purpose of having this kind of method is that students willhave two advantages at the same time, i.e. the linguistic aspects and the content. Forthe linguistic aspects, firstly, they will learn the English sound system throughspelling, secondly the grammar, by combining words into longer utterances, andfinally the choice of words or vocabulary. While for the content, ICT let the studentslearn (assisted by the teacher) the variety of language used within a certain subject.Teaching technique using chalk and talk or explanation is not popular anymore. It isthen suggested that the teacher uses internet within his teaching learning process and itis also compulsory for the students to learn to use it. The Internet is a must, because itcan be used (1) as the source of knowledge (2) as an aid for learning (instructional aid)(3) as teaching or learning facility (4) as a standard of competency (5) as anadministrative equipment (6) as a supporting equipment for the school management(7) as an educational infrastructure. Beside the aforementioned aspects, there areadditional factors to consider. Among others are (a) the environmental factor whichconsists of school or institution holding the activity (b) students who learn, their ages,social and economical background, the language and literacy of IT, the variety oflearning (c) the teacher, consists of the background of the teacher, the age, theteaching style, the experience and the personality (d) factors of technology whichconsists of computer, software, internet network and other application of EducateNetat schools.Kata kunci: ICT, standar kompetensi, infrastruktur, literatur, jaringan internet
