Abstract

Methods for estimating speed be categorized into two classes, namely active method and passive methods. One method that can be used in speed estimation using a passive method is the Kalman filter. Kalman filter is an very effective estimator that is in estimating state dynamics system involving white noise. In this study, the Kalman filter will be used to estimate the variation of vehicle speed from a speed of 5 km/hour to 60 km/hour. Kalman filter is designed to get input in the form of cascading imagery of the vehicle video recordings. Results of the testing showed that speed can be minimum estimated is 20 km hour with an error of 4.25%. While the maximum estimated speed is 60 km/hour with an error of 0.22%.

Abstract

Passion fruit (Passiflora edulis) is one kind of plant that is commonly grown by our society. In the yellow passion fruit (Passiflora edulis var. Flavicarpa) contained vitamin C and vitamin A which is very high. The usage of passion fruit juice as nutraceuticals products that are rich in vitamins C and A is still relatively rare. Demands of people who want to get an interesting kind of preparation and easy to use push of this study which aims to produce gummy candies. Gummy candies preparations were made using a base of corn syrup, a sweetener mannitol with sucrose content variation of 4.49%, 8.98%, 13.47%, 17.96% and 22.45%. Manufacture of yellow passion fruit juice using freeze drying method is performed on the resulting fruit juice. Organoleptic test was conducted after the yellow passion fruit juice formed. Testing the physical properties of the preparations which have become gummy candies include organoleptic testing, weights uniformity test and the level of preference test (hedonict test) by the respondents to the color, taste, smell and shape, then the results were compared with the requirements in the literature and the results of statistical analysis using one way anova. Formula 3 that was containing sucrose 13.47% is the best formula compared with other formula, a coefficient of variation for weight uniformity test was 2.91%. While for organoleptic test and hedonict test for the color, flavor, smell and shape of the formula 4 by respondents indicated that the sucrose content of 17.96% has the best look and feel to become the most preferred formula by respondents.

Abstract

In order to develop a library recommender system based on Semantic Web technology, it is a must to exploit the use of RDF model database. In this paper we explain our experiences in converting library inforation system’s data from relational database (RDB) into RDF model database. We achieve it by using an open source tool, D2RQ. We test the RDF database by querying the data using SPARQL. The result showing that we can use this tool easily to obtain our objectives.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1. understanding the characteristics of propylene glycol as desiccant  by manipulating the air volumetric flow rate and propylene glycol volumetric flow rate as desiccant. 2. calculating the optimum operating point of absorption of propylene glycol desiccant at air dryer machine. Theoretically absorption ability of a desiccant  is limited by the ability of the maximum absorbance that  reached when the equilibrium with the surrounding air or saturated conditions is reached. The results indicate that the effect of absorption varies proportionally with volumetric flow rate of desiccant and has a certain optimum point with the volumetric flow rate of air that dried. In this study used two dimensionless scale, i.e. : 1. Coefficient of Absorption (abbreviated AC ).

Abstract

Carter model is a quality service dimension developed by Parasuraman et al to measures service quality which covers Assurance, Reliability, Tangible, Empathy and Responsiveness. The research subject was a syariah company, therefore Compliance dimension is exercised. The instruments applied to measure service quality is questioner in Linkert scale and distributed to costumer. Due to the subjectivity contained in received questioner answers, Fuzzy is utilized to transform it into a quantitative value as an input for Servqual. Thus, servqual is applied to calculate the gap between customer expectations and perceptions of the service offered. By practicing Cartesian diagram, the attributes need to be addressed were attained. The largest gap is in the attribute called “Promised service time” in Reliability dimension with 0.556.

Abstract

Data of traffic accidents in Indonesia reveal high rate of traffic incidence. Lack of discipline, low driving skill, poor knowledge of traffic rules of drivers are at high risk. Education on traffic rules can be obtained easily from both printed and electronic media. Large amount of information on safety driving, however, has not significantly reduced traffic accident rate. Some types of education on safety driving available at present may not be effective for would-be drivers. The objective of the study was to identify the effective education in safety driving on the knowledge of perspective drivers when encountering traffic conflict. The study was conducted on 30 respondents aged 15-17 yeras, who were classified into 3 groups: 10 respondents used visual texts, 10 respondents used visual pictures, and 10 respondents used Audio Visual (an instructor). All respondents took pre-test and post-test. The result showed the type of education influenced would-be drivers' comprehension. Visual pictures and audio visual (an instructor) were the most effective types of education on safety driving for perspective drivers.

Abstract

Dalam proses pengembangan perangkat lunak, setiap pengembang baik tim maupun perorangan bertujuan untuk dapat menghasilkan produk perangkat lunak yang berkualitas tinggi. Salah satu kriteria penting dari kualitas perangkat lunak adalah jumlah kesalahan (defect) yang ditemukan pada perangkat lunak tersebut. Perangkat lunak yang berkualitas tinggi harus memiliki jumlah defect yang minimal sehingga mampu menyediakan fungsionalitas bagi pengguna dengan tingkat usabilitas yang tinggi. Salah satu faktor penting yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas produk perangkat lunak adalah kualitas software process yang dijalankan. Hal ini berlaku untuk proses pengembangan oleh tim maupun proses pengembangan yang dilakukan oleh software engineer perorangan. Software Engineering Institue (SEI) di Carnegie Mellon University (Amerika Serikat) telah mengembangkan metode Personal Software Process (PSP) untuk membantu para software engineer meningkatkan kualitas software process yang mereka jalankan. Selain itu, SEI juga mengembangkan Process Quality Index (PQI) yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas software process yang dilakukan oleh para software engineer.  PSP membantu software engineer meningkatkan kualitas software process mereka melalui praktek – praktek yang mendukung  proses identifikasi dan perbaikan defect pada perangkat lunak sedini mungkin. Selain itu, PSP memberikan motivasi yang besar bagi software engineer untuk dapat lebih disiplin pada setiap tahapan software process yang mereka jalankan. PQI mengukur kualitas software process dengan menggunakan indikator berupa perbandingan lama waktu penyelesaian serta jumlah defect yang ditemukan pada setiap tahapan software process.

Abstract

Melinjo merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman perkebunan yang cukup banyak terdapat di Indonesia, khususnya di pulau Jawa. Melinjo banyak dimanfaatkan bijinya untuk diolah menjadi emping. Desa Mesoyi merupakan salah satu sentra penghasil melinjo di Kabupaten Pekalongan. Hal itu yang membuat di Desa Mesoyi terdapat banyak UMKM yang bergerak dalam bidang pengolahan melinjo menjadi emping. Namun pengolahan melinjo menjadi emping di banyak UMKM masih menggunakan cara tradisional sehingga produktivitasnya masih relatif rendah. Proses pembuatan emping dimulai dari penjemuran melinjo sehingga menjadi melinjo klatak, proses sangrai, pengupasan kulit keras, pemipihan dan terakhir dijemur untuk menjadi emping yang siap dipasarkan. Dalam penelitian ini akan difokuskan pada pembuatan paket teknologi tepat guna untuk proses pengelupasan kulit keras. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa produktivitas alat pengupas kulit biji melinjo mencapai 39,6 kg per jam atau meningkat 6 kali lipat dibandingkan proses manual yang hanya mencapai 6,36 kg per jam. Dari segi konsumsi listrik, alat ini membutuhkan biaya Rp 831,37 per hari dengan asumsi penggunaan alat selama 6 jam per hari. Efisiensi alat pengupas kulit biji melinjo ini  adalah 86,5%
