Abstract

Dili port is the one of port in Timor Leste, that can be used as  loading and unloading of goods. The increasing of operations in recent years was could be to the risk. The aim of this study was to analyze the risks involved in the operations of ships loading and  unloading in  port of Dili. This study was identifying risks, determine risk level, and risk mitigate that affect the  processes of  loading and unloading. Samples data were the  activities  loading and unloading that cause risks or accidents reported in 2010 to 2014. The data were analyzed using risk matrix method at probability (likelihood) and impact (consequence) based on AS/NZS 2004 standard. Using this method, there were 22 risk events do to identified . Using the risk matrix, injured due to exposure to the goods or sharp tools, which include a very high risk rating. This mitigate is to provide safety and health training  and  use to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to the labors.

Abstract

The industrial sector drive the economy. One of the sub-sectors that have economic potential is a leather and leather garment industry. But the leather industry conditions generally inefficient. In recent years the leather industry there are obstacles to lack of supply of raw materials, and industrial utilization rate is low. Supply of raw materials depend on import of raw leather, medium leather industry utilization during 2010-2015 an average of 50.13%. The low utilization rate reflects the performance of inefficient operation. Responding to the above problems, the approach to lean manufacturing and supply chain management can be applied to improve the performance of the industry. Lean manufacturing in an effort to minimize the efficiency of industrial activities that are not value-added. For the next lean manufacturing approach integrated into industrial relations by the method of Supply Chain so hopefully improve industrial performance and add value. The study begins with business process mapping methods Integrated Definition for Function Modeling (IDEFØ) to identify business processes factually. From the analysis of the process bisniskemudian mapping value chains and identification of critical processes in the leather industry. Furthermore, in design improvements with Lean manufacturing, refers to the concept of value-stream mapping to identify non-value added activities in industrial systems.

Abstract

The composition of the turmeric plant consists of a root, rhizome, pseudostem, stem leaf, leaves, flower stalks and flowers.Chemical substances contained in turmeric is essential oil, starch, fiber and ash. Turmeric chemical content will be higher if it comes from the lowland compared with turmeric, which comes from the highlands.Curcumin is coloring agentto orange yellow crystalline, insoluble in ether, soluble in oils, alkali maroon, while the bright yellow acid. pH indicator is an organic acid or base having one color if the hydrogen concentration is higher than at a certain price and a color if the concentration was lower. The analysis shows that the optimum extraction temperature is 70 0C, with the extraction time of 120 minutes, the particle size of 100 mesh.Concentration yield is curcumin produced 5.158 mg / L. The cost efficiency of the use of curcumin indicator reached 27,7%.

Abstract

Pests in rice crops, namely mice, stem borer and  Wereng Coklat (Nilaparvata lugens Stal). Wereng coklat  is classified as very dangerous for the rice crop. This pest is highly detrimental to the agricultural system in Indonesia, with attacks on a wide area in a short time. This pest control methods such as by controlling in farming, controlling the resistant varieties, physical controls and mechanical and biological control. That method is not effective, so a more practical way to control and quickly began to do that is chemically using pesticides. But the impact of pesticides is dangerous, especially due to the use unwisely. So that environmentally friendly technologies needed to control pests and ecosystem. Target of this research is to develop a prototype tool wereng coklat control without pesticides powered windmills that are environmentally friendly. Prototype are designed with two modes, namely automatic controlled with motion sensors and manual.  Prototype was designed with a mechanical concept that is environmentally friendly, it is to reduce the effects caused by the use of chemical pesticides. The purpose of this research is to design wereng coklat pest control device with a motion sensor that consists of a mechanical vacuum and aluminum propeller. The mechanical vacuum linked to the pipe that tipped on light suction funnel. In the suction funnel installed motion sensors that serve to detect the presence/movement wereng coklat pests.  The voltage source is derived from the modification of dry cell connected to a windmill which functioned as a generator. Dry cell store electricity converted from windmills. This study is experiment research with developed by tested prototype both pre and post test. The prototype developed by considering three factors: time of arrival (X1), time seedlings (X2) and the planting location (X3) against the number of catches (Y). This device does not use pesticides, but rather take advantage of the weakness of wereng coklat pest are very sensitive to light. Based on the test results we can conclude that the most influential variable to variable number of catches (Y) is variable Planted Area (X3) with a coefficient of 0.372. Then variable planting time (X2) with a coefficient of 0.355 and the smallest influence is variable arrival time (X1) with a coefficient of 0.140.

Abstract

This Seafood waste drying process using a dryer that works still manually using the solar system energy. This study uses a participatory method in its implementation using FGD (focus group discussion) involving researchers, local communities, stakeholders and experts. From interviews with local residents, obtained the problems faced by the Trisik local people because of the abundance seafood waste. Thus the researchers create a waste dryers tool that easy to use, easy to maintainen, easy to operate, and using inexpensive materials. Components of this include the buffer dryer, pulleys parabolic player, parabola, and a drying rack. Buffer serves as a buffer parabola, a drying rack, and stand pulleys parabola player. The function of pulley parabolic player is to pointing, so that it gets the focus point of the solar cell. While the parabola which serves to reflect the solar cell to the drying rack so that the heat is evenly obtained. Drying rack consists of 4 stages that serves to put the waste. Finally, getting the tools that efficiently practical, economical and ergonomic.

Abstract

College Students as the input of a university, have different attitudes and learning outcomes from one another. Education as one way to achieve the goal, can be assessed and seen through the performance. The performance is in question is the achievement of a student focusing on college events. The performance of the students in college year not rated academically, but also nonacademic. According to some studies, the performance can be assessed with motivation, organization and soft skills. This study aims to measure the influence of motivation, organization, and soft skills of the students' performance. The focus of this research is a student in the fourthyear college or the student class of 2012, which is considered to have a lot of experience that can be measured in this study. Processing data using Structural Equation Modeling with Amos. The results of this study are, Motivation has an influence on student performance, while the Organization and Soft skills have no effect on student performance.

Abstract

The government is encouraging small businesses to improve product quality by adjusting its product in accordance with the Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI-Indonesian National Standardization). Halal is one aspect of quality, especially in the food and beverage products, which is considered in Indonesia, due to most of Indonesian is Moslem. This research was aimed to develop halal marketing strategies for specific SME (Small Medium Enterprise) that produced “wedang uwuh” beverage and gluten-free flour in Yogyakarta. The SME is called SMEs Progress Jogja. The marketing strategy in SMEs Progress Jogja was developed using a questionnaire that distributed to stakeholders. The tools which for analysis were SWOT matrix and QSPM. There are three expected strategies by the SMEs Progress Jogja that should be selected. The strategies were expanding the market share (especially by exploiting the defense of government), developing/increasing product variation, and also preserving the quality and the halal requirement of products. Then, the chosen strategy that was selected by using the priority matrix QSP is to expand market share.

Abstract

Atma Jaya is one of the universities that try to sustain support facilities by keeping it clean and maintained. One of the Eforts is cooperating with PT. X Indonesia. Based on the preliminary survey conducted on twenty-four active college students of Atma Jaya Catholic University Campus Semanggi, about 75% of respondents stated that although the officers had to work every day, still indicated the presence of impurities or trash. If this condition is not corrected, then this will have an adverse impact both Atma Jaya and PT. X Indonesia. Based on these issues, the purpose of this study is to find performance and the proposed improvements to enhance the performance quality of cleaning service PT. X at Atma Jaya Catholic University. The methods used are QFD, Kano, Refined Kano’s Model and TQM approach. Variables used in this research are based on research Mai in 2010. Based on the results of the study, respondents tend to be satisfied with the service PT. X Indonesia at Atma Jaya Catholic University. Proposed improvements are to conduct a review of the contents of the contract related to the number of officers working at Atma Jaya Catholic University.
