Abstract

All of the production activity   in a company cannot be separated with the material handling activity. There are a lot of companies that still use the traditional work system in the material handling activity, namely manual material handling systems. CV. Graffity Labelindo is one of company which conducts material handling mostly using human power, especially the material handling activities done by the lamination machine operators. This activities lifting materials about 6-15 kg from the bottom (floor) into the top, makes workers have to bent  to lift the materials, and then carry the materials by hand while moving about 20-24 meters.. Based on the results of questionnaires Nordic Body Map the biggest complaint that perceived lamination machine operator found on the neck, arms, thighs, waist, and back. The methods used in this research is OWAS  (Ovako Working  Analysis System). According to the data processing, the result shows that almost all the material handling activity done by the lamination machine is included in the risk category 3 (three) which is positions with harmful effects on the musculoskeletal system (high risk) an require the corrective action. The corrective action done to reduce or prevent risks of musculoskeletal disorders on the operator lamination machine is designing work facilities and improvements to the working methods. The results of the improvements can lower risk category operators lamination machine into risk category 1 (one) as to its normal position without any effects that can interfere with the musculoskeletal system (low risk).

Abstract

Sunlight as the largest source of natural light is widely used by humans to carry out their daily activities. Natural light is efficient and saves energy because it does not use electricity. Sometimes humans as light users do not realize how huge the importance of natural light in performing everyday activities as visual comfort. In this study, simulations are conducted on  Limas Stilt Houses Palembang. This is due to Limas Stilt Houses has existed since Palembang Sultanate era. This study focuses on research related to the opening on the wall of the elements of these houses through the simulation of natural light. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method based on engineering and architecture discipline of fields. From the simulation results obtained that the 'gegajah' space produced very little natural light ranges from 15-30 lux. This is due to gegajah space is located in the middle of the house and just rely on natural light from the 'bengkilas'  and 'pawon' rom. While 'bengkilas' and 'pawon' sufficient range of 300-325 lux natural light.

Abstract

There were so many leaves waste in our environment. This reseach is conduct to study the possibility of using that waste as a raw material of Bio-briquettes. The leaves that useare mangoes, jackfruits, rambutans, and teak wood powder as comparison. Bio-briquettes were make with and without pyrolysis, for 2 and 5 gram starch. The characteristics test, flame test and water boiling test are conducted with Anglo and Biomassa Stove. The results of the test shows that only moisture content that meet SNI, but the good information that the calories of three type of leaves are more than 4,600 calories/gram, especially the rambutan leaves is 4960 calories/gram. The SNI standar for wood is 5,000 caloris/gram. The flame test results shows that at Biomassa Stove better than at Anglo, and 2 gram starch better than 5 gram. For water boiling test at Angglo is better than at Biomassa Stove, and 2 gram starch better than 5 gram.

Abstract

Pempek "BU LINA" is one of the SMEs which make pempek kriting in Palembang. The crockery is conventional in making pempek kriting. Workers often have complaints on time makes pempek kriting, it is necessary to perform the design of an appropriate tool, with ergonomic aspects that can reduce the complaints of injury musculoskeletal occupational and also benefit from the financial point of initial phase of the study done by observing the conditions and process of making pempek kriting basis directly. After conducting measurements anthropometric data of workers in pempek "BU LINA", the obtained dimensions pempek kriting maker. The size is: 154.33 cm tall tool because the tool is placed on a table with a height of 60 cm tall appliance then be 94.33 cm, height container printout 96.33 cm, width 41 cm maximum tool, and great grip crank 3,35 cm. In addition to musculoskeletal complaints decreased by 42.18 %. And increasing output device that reaches 169% it is certain display devices is advantageous.

Abstract

One of the company efforts in increasing the sales volume of a product is with maintaining and increasing the quality of a product that have been produce by the company. Therefore, it is very important for the company to analyze and identify the problems that have been caused during the production process so the company can increase the quality of the product and productivity. Problems that cause during analyzing the defect product in production is how to arrange the optimal setting from each factor that significantly related so the company can minimize the defect product. This research was done at CV Tunggal Jaya Plastics and took the Morning Fresh (Lime) 1000 ml case product. Taguchi method is one of the methods that can be used to minimize the defect product by applying robust system for uncontrollable factors. The final result is to know factors that related significantly to the defect product and suggest the level of each factor therefore the defect product can be minimized.

Abstract

Deterioration problem is due to a decrease in engine performance the machine used constantly. Deterioration of the engine can cause production system problem. In this research, the development of optimization models taking into account the production and quality cost component in the multistage production system. All products will undergo inspection by sampling or census. Good product after sampling inspection will be delivered to the consumer, while the nonconforming product will be inspected prior to the census carried out rework. Dynamic programming used to optimize the decision-making process over the entire stage which was later named the optimal policy

Abstract

On examination using  USG ( ultrasonography), gel carbomer 940 applied on body surface has role as acoustic coupling agent between USG probe and body surface. The function of this gel is to transmit   ultrasonics wave from probe to body without resisted by the air. Gel carbomer 940 is a non biodegradable matter. For decreasing the content of non biodegradable part of carbomer 940, in this research, the extract of aloe vera was added into gel carbomer 940. To know the efficiency of ultrasonics energy tramsmitted to the body, transmitansi coefficient measurement is required.. Transmitansi coefficient can be calculated from ultrasonics velocity value in the gel. The velocity measurement use transmit time method with equipment the ultrasonics thickness gauge AR860 connected to osciloscope. Examanation of the coefficient was carried out in  first and 12 th week. The results indicated the acoustic impedance and the transmitansi coefficient decreased by adding of aloevera content. However at 12 th week the influence of aloe vera relatively did not give effect to the gel carbomer transmittance.

Abstract

Citronella oil processing industry made a major contribution in improving the economy of the community, especially involve businesses, that is farmers and industrialists. Issues contained in the refining of citronella oil, one of which is requiring relatively large initial costs. The main objective of this research is to create  model of  industry system  for  citronella oil processing,  small and medium scale so as to optimize the potential and available resources. The first step taken was  identify the technologies used, determine the scale of production, how to manage and determine the variables considered to be a critical factor in the refining industry of citronella oil . As of this paper is made, a team of researchers have done several times a survey to  see manufactured machine for citronella refining  and compare the right technology so citronella oil produced is optimal In addition, researchers conducted a survey to a distillery that uses machine examined, to see firsthand how the refining machine. Stages of research conducted in a structured  from preliminary studies, the formulation of the problem and determining the purpose of research, literature studies, define the steps of research, collection of data required, and the design of industrial systems, implementation models, and the final analysis of the results of implementation and improvement models.

Abstract

Local craft industry is now starting to compete with other industries in the process of advancing the region and even the country's economy. Yogyakarta, as a tourism destination known for its traditional cultural values would be more interesting if the culture of local crafts can be more openly introduced. The high interest in the local craft makes tourists want to see, and even to try the process of making of local crafts in Yogyakarta. Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) with genetic algorithm method works by providing Yogyakarta's local craft location recommendation, from closest to farthest location that can be visited by tourists with the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) on their smartphones. Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) with genetic algorithm (GA) method provides the best traveling route for tourists who want to find and visit Yogyakarta's local craft location in one hand.
