Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the effect of current ratio, total asset turnover, debt to equity ratio, return on equity, and earning per share to stock return of infrastructure, utility, and transportation on Indonesia Stock Exchange period of 2007-2011. Independent variables used on this research are current ratio, total asset turn over, debt to equity ratio, return on equity, and earnings per share whereas stock return as dependent variable. Data resources on this research are secondary data. There are 15 stock company samples used on this research which were taken by using purposive sampling technique. The research methods used on this research are multiple regression and hypotheses test using t test and F test. Based on t test, current ratio, total asset turn over, debt to equity ratio, and earnings per share is not significance to stock return. Return on equity influences to stock return positively and significantly. Based on F test, simultaneously current ratio, total asset turn over, debt to equity ratio, return on equity, and earnings per share not influence to stock return.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of services quality to consumer’s satisfaction and also to know which variable that most dominant influence to the consumer’s satisfaction at Hotel Sentosa Palembang.  The data were collected by using interview and questionnaires.  The sample are 60 respondences who are staying at Hotel Sentosa.  The data were analyzed by using regression analysis follow by SPSS (Statistic Problem Solution Service) Version 11.5 software for windows.  The result shows that the services quality, they are Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy affect to consumers satisfaction are 33,5% while the remaining influenced by other factors outside the study, one of which is an easily accessible location factor.  Based on the t test (partial test), shows that there are three variables that influence of customers satisfaction partialy, they are responsiveness, assurance and empathy variable.  However, the most dominant variable is responsiveness variable.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of working capital management (i.e. quick ratio, inventory turnover, receivable turnover, net working capital turnover and current ratio) to profitability and firm value of manufacturing companies of the year of 2006 - 2010 at the Indonesian Stock Exchange. This research divided manufacturing firms into two types, first firms with increasing working capital and second firms with decreasing working capital. Purposive sampling is used in this research. Off 145 firms, only 18 firms with increasing working management and 18 firms with decreasing working management are carried out as samples in this research. Regression analysis was implemented to see the influence of working capital management to profitability and firm value. The result showed that quick ratio, receivable turnover had positive influence on profitability and net working capital turnover had negative influence on profitability at the firms with increasing working capital. Quick ratio had negative influence on firm value at the firm with increasing working capital. For firms with decreasing working capital, only quick ratio had positive influence on profitability and current ratio had negative influence on firm value. Due to some limitation of this research, it is suggested to include other related variables and other sectors of companies at the Indonesian Stock Exchange.

Abstract

This thesis entitled the Quality of Public Services (Study on Students Administrative Services at State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya in 2011). Formulation of the problem of this research is how the quality of student administrative services at State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya on three types of services provided, namely: service new admissions, re-registration service student and student academic administrative services. Research method used in this research is descriptive research with quantitative approach. Theory used is the model servqual with five dimensions of service quality (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy). Evaluations of the quality of service is determined by two factors: perceptions and expectations of students. Results of data analysis showed that student perceptions of student administrative at three kinds of services at middle category (2.75 to 3.61), whereas for perception score is lowest on the dimensions of responsiveness and the highest scores is the tangible dimension. Hopes of students at all three services are in very high category (4.51 to 4.80), which means that students have high expectations on the dimensions of tangible and empathy. Difference in value perceptions and expectations of students on the quality of student administrative services servqual calculations obtained negative results for all three services. It means that the quality of student administrative services at State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya yet either, because the perceived value is lower than the expected value. Focus attention directed repair services are the dimensions of responsiveness and empathy. This is supported hypothesis testing results for all three services, where the value perceptions and expectations are not the same values ​​and significant, so the quality of student administrative services said was not good.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the implementation of Economic Value Added (EVA) as a tool to measure company’s performance based on the financial report at PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk and PT. Indosat, Tbk and also to determine optimal capital structur. The metodh analyze was the financial report of both companies that had been go public The period of measurement of company’s performance was 5 years, from 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 till 2011. The research finding are. (1) EVA of PT. Telkom, Tbk and PT. Indosat, Tbk during research processes is positive in value and indicated decreasing drastically, which this condition are influenced by NOPAT & WACC. (2) Optimal measurement of capital structure maximal EVA for PT. Telkom, Tbk and PT. Indosat, Tbk in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Abstract

This research is to analyze the company's financial performance comparison before and after the acquisition. Is there a significant difference or not, and the difference is increased or decreased. Financial performance here is measured by the ratio of ROI, ROE, DER, TATO, CR, and EPS. This study takes population from all company that acquisition activity in period 2000-2011. The samples in this study using purposive sampling method, and  and obtained a sample of 17 companies in the period 2000-2011, with the appropriate criteria have been determined, the ratio of data obtained from the Indonesian Capital Market Directory (ICMD). The analysis used to test the hypothesis of this research is quantitative analysis with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Manova. Based on descriptive statistics, changes in the average value (mean) of the ratio of DER, tato and EPS have increased, but the results are not strong enough to prove the existence of significant differences in financial performance as measured by these ratios. The Test results using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed that there was no significant difference for all ratios after the acquisition, and it is also supported by the results of testing with Manova.

Abstract

This research aims at knowing the effects of the elements of brand equity, which consists of brand awareness, perceived quality and brand loyalty on the costumers’ decision to buy the product of Semen Baturaja. This research is based on the condition where the need for cement increasing that has made high competition among firms in the industry. Of the total cement industry, PT Semen Baturaja has a low market share which accounts for only 2,2 percent. However, Semen Baturaja has become a market leader in South Sumatera, especially in Palembang city. Theoretically, the condition can be induced by strong brand equity of the firm’s product.This research is based on multiple linear regression analysis by using SPSS 16.0 program. The regression analysis has resulted in an estimate of the decision function, Y = 3.001 + 0.402X1 + 0.439X3. The result shows that the variable brand awareness (X1) and brand loyalty (X3) have significant positive effect on the consumers’ decision. The variable brand loyalty has more dominant effect than brand awareness on the buying decision for Semen Baturaja with coefficient of 0.439. Based on the result of t-test, both brand awareness and brand loyalty have significant effect, but the variable perceived quality has no significant effect on the costumers’decision. Coefficient Adjusted R2 of 0.596 shows that the independen variables influence the costumers’ buying decision by 59.6%, while the rest is influenced by other variables beyond this research

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors (i.e profitability, free cash flow, business risk and liquidity) effecting the capital structure companies in  mining sector listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange.The population of mining sector is 30 companie. Due to data availability only13 companies are selected as a sample. Using multiple regression method, data are analized and interpreted. The result shows that simultaneously profitability, free cash flow, business risk and liquidity have significant effect on the capital structure. Partially, free cash flow, business risk and liquidity have significant effect on capital structure,while profitability does not. The model is able to explain the variability of dependent variable as much as 13,7% whereas the remaining 86,3% can be explained by other factors which is not included in the model.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1). Analyzing the concept influence of Diversity and Employee partially support against the performance of PT.Baturona Adimulya employee. (2). Analyzing the concept influence of Diversity and Employee support simultaneous against the performance of PT Baturona Adimulya employee (3). Knowing which variable that have a dominant influence against the performance of PT. Baturona Adimulya employee. The result of the first hypothesis test showed diversity only influence of 0.089. So diversity variable partially doesn't have a significant influence against the performance of PT. Baturona Adimulya employees. Further variable emlpoyee support influence at 0.896 and significant means employee support partially has a significant influence against the performance of PT. Baturona adimulya employee. Further the second hypothesis testing showed a value of 0.658 (coefficient of determination). These results state diversity and employee support simultaneously (together) have a significant influence against the performance of PT. Baturona Adimulya employees. The results of the employee support third variables influence more dominant when compared with diversity variable against the performance of PT. Baturona Adimulya employees.

Abstract

Commodity development of agriculture in the from of primary product in Indonesia which began with the rubber has developed abaout a century, and the relatively recent palm thirty-five years. Most of the primary product are exported to the word market and the price is always fluctuating according supply and demand conditions of the word market this led to foreign exchange earning and income economic actors foreign earnings will only be obtained if downstream industry is developed for both these commodities south Sumatra has a great opportunity to implement the downstream industry on the basis of abundant raw material resources ,the existence of a development plan in the ocean port of Tanjung Api-api, development of transport infrastructure, energy, water, and support a variety of related institutional. Of course the main actor is the both domestic and foreign,either already engaged in the crumb rubber industry as well as other industries.One location is in special economic zone (KEK) near Tanjung Api-api, and most importantly, a strong commitment and cooperation between actors coherent, government ,the public and researchers to realize the development of downstream industries of rubber and palm oil.
