Abstract

Muhammad Baqir Sadr serves as a 20th century  expert  in Islamic economics. He combines his thought on Islamic economics with theological-normative and sociological-empirical aspects. This combination of the two approaches can be seen in his thought on economic base, economic principles, economic distribution on pra and pasca-production and theory on production and the role of the state economic affairs.

Abstract

Kuntowijoyo is one of Indonesian intellectuals who is very concerned with the teachings of Islam in the context of sosial change. According to him, the Quran can be made as paradigm which is called Islamic paradigm. This Islamic paradigm is intended to formulate social theories of typical Islam which is called social prophetic science. The intended paradigm is mode of thought, mode of inquiry resulting in mode of knowing. By this paradigm the Quran is expected to be science construction from which we can comprehend the reality as the Quran comprehends it.Kata Kunci: Pradigma Islam, Transformasi Sosial

Abstract

This article tries to describe the concept of Human Rights in the West and the response of  Islam to them. In its history, it was Magna Charta  in England that initiated the formulation of Human Rights in the West in 1512. Then It was followed by The Bill of right in 1689; The American Declaration of Independence in 1776; and The French Declaration in 1789 that resulted in The rule of law.  Human Rights entered a new phase after The United Nations had declared the International Human Rights in 1984, that is The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. From that time on, Human Rights has become a global issue, continually discussed and responded to by many including Muslim scholars. In the West, the concept of Human Right is based merely on human values (anthropocentric) so that the responsibility is restricted to human beings. Based on this, this concept is different from Islamic concept on Human Rights because the former is based on secular values  while the later is based on human values and divine values. Normatively, the idea of Human Rights is relevant to Islamic idea. The reason is that, based on their fitrah as creatures, human beings  extremely expect the maintenance of their main needs (Al-umur al-Daruriyyah). Therefore, Human Rights are suitable with the purpose of syari’ah (maqasid al-Syari), that is to maintain religion, reason, heredity dan property.   Kata Kunci: Islam, Hak Asasi Manusia

Abstract

Pluralitas penduduk Indonesia yang terdiri atas multi  etnik dan multi kultural yang saling berinteraksi antara satu dengan yang lainnya merupakan sebab utama terjadinya kedwibahasaan (bilingual) pada masyarakat Indonesia. Di samping itu, setelah berkembang pesatnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi utamanya teknologi komunikasi yang menggunakan berbagai bahasa asing semakin lengkap pulalah pemerolehan bahasa kedua (B.2) bagi masyarakat yang kemudian melahirkan kedwibahasaan pula dalam tindak komunikasi. Penggunaan kedwibahasaan dewasa ini tidak dapat dipungkiri lagi karena ia merupakan kebutuhan kebahasaan yang dapat menjadi cermin peningkatan hubungan komunisasi baik antara sesama bangsa maupun antara bangsa-bangsa di dunia ini. Kalau kita cermati lebih jauh tentang kedwibahasaan maka salah satu manfaatnya adalah untuk dapat berperan aktif dalam berbagai macam tindak komunikasi. Oleh sebab itu pendidikan kedwibahsaan mutlak sangat diperlukan dewasa ini.

Abstract

The advent of Islam in the archipelago in the 7th century has given a positive impact on the development of many fields of life. One of them is the development of Malaya literature in this area. Ar-Raniri, a great ulama of Aceh sultanate, serves as one of Muslim poets who, in 1638 B.C., wrote not only works on Islam but also on a work of Malaya literature, that is Bustan al-Salatin (Garden of Kings). This work was written by him because of Sultan Iskandar Sani’s order. Another work of Malaya literature can be mentioned here is Taj al-Salatin (Crown of Kings) written by Bukhari al-Jauhari in 1603 B.C. Centers for Malaya literature in the archipelago are Aceh, Malacca, and Johor-Riau.                      Kata Kunci: Islam, sastra Melayu klasik

Abstract

Abstract. Muḥammad al-Ghazālī is one of the prominent thinkers of Ikhwān al-Muslimin. He has been regarded by some scholars to possess progressive ideas and accomodative and contextual character. This paper, exemines the coherency of al-Ghazālī’s thought of interpretation and his paradigm manifested in his works on exegesis. In conclusion, the ideal interpretation paradigm offered by al-Ghazālī  as knife analysis of the Koran texts  is not fully applied. In fact, he intends to interpret the verses of the Koran textually. The question is where the inductive method of interpretation of the Koran which he thinks as the Qur'anic method. There is a discontinuity  of thought which al-Ghazālī does not realize in reference to his paradigm for his interpretation.Kata Kunci: al-Ghazālī, interpretasi, paradigma, kontekstualisasi

Abstract

Hermeneutics is a new phenomenon in the study of the Koran. There are still the pros and the cons among the flow and the groups in Islamic societies in accordabce with thw use of this method of interpretation. The pros group tends to claim that the existence of hermeneutic interpretation of feminism in the study of the Koran is a necessity. This is based on the statement that al-Qur’ān ṣāliḥ li kulli zamān wa makān. In the mean time, the couns group tends to state that hermeneutics is not proper to employ study or  to interpret the verses of the Koran. The reason is that the method is not part of a system of Islamic scholarship, but rather  a method of biblical interpretation. This paper presents a discourse on the re-orientation of the interpretation of the Koran that involves existential through the interpretating actions  relevant to the socio-cultural character of  the community.Kata Kunci: hermeneutik, teks, Alquran, interpretasi, sosio-kultural

Abstract

Abstract. The Arab society has a great cultural memory, especially in language. This  cultural identity has become a very accommodating identity over the revelation of the Koran. Therefore, it is not strange whenever in many stories, when recepting the  Koran, the early Muslim community had a tremendous fascination. This is very different from non-Arab  people. There is a kind of unity that spawned an amazing and entrancing experience. Nevertheless, the reception of the later muslims over the Koran have been evolving. The shift of culture and of paradigm, and how the Qur'an is presented is the main reason. The estestis reception of Muslims over the Koran -especially those living in the time of the Prophet-, attracted the attention of Navid Kermani. Abstract

Qirā'ah is a very important science in the study of the  Ulūm al-Qur‘ān.The importance of this science lies not only on  the mehod of how to recite the Qur’an but also on the method of how to understabd  the meaning of the Koran. In this regard, understanding the formation of qirā‘ah  history in its present form  becomes important, especially  because  so rich treasures that the qirā‘ah possesses that appeared during the codification of official qirā'ah. The standardization of this qirâ'ah, on the one hand, gives the muslims a lot ease in reading the Koran; on the other hand, it burries the treasures of the qirā'ah science very dynamic during qirā'ah sab'ah codification. Abstract

Absract: This article discusses one of the phenomena in the sciences of the Quran employing the point of view of  the contemporary muslim scholar, Muḥammad Muṣṭāfā al-A’zamī. He asserted  that one of the entrances used by the Orientalist to assault the authenticity of the Qur'an was through qiraat phenomenon. Al-A’zamī critisized the Orientalist’s views in terms of methodology, of analysis process and of  study results. The nonexistance of a dot and diacriticals did not become a problem for the text of the Koran since the system of the true recitation was taught by the prophet through memorization. The true system of reciting the Qur’an had already existed  in the minds of the Companions of the Prophet. The terms used in recitation cannot also be separated from Al-A’zamī’s attention. He said  that the term  “multiple” (many) recitaions is more properly used  than the  term “variant” (various) recitations.Kata Kunci: qiraat, multiple qiraat, tanda titik, diakritikal
