Abstract

Nodular cast iron is increasingly being used in mass production of automotive engine crankshaft. A better understanding of characteristics of bending fatigue strength of the iron crankshaft is necessary to further the use of the material in this application. The research deals with Engine Rusnas 500 CC  with  iron crankshaft  concerning the fatigue behaviors and influential factors.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the empirical evidence of the influence of factors that are the paying of agency, the number of potential consumer, volume of selling agency, sending time frequency, the number/ordering measurement, services which given by company, services which given by agency. Samples in this research are 19 selling agency of 19 selling agency in all of Indonesia areas. The examination of this research result in the founding that the gaining selling target of Rumput Patimah company is simultaneously influenced by some factors which already mentioned above.

Abstract

The 003/OHC/BRB overhead crane machine is one of the lifting machine for production at PT. Bukaka BRB that has the highest level of breakdown time among other production machines in the company. The purpose of research to determine the effectiveness of the machine overhead crane 003/OHC/BRB, so as to know the appropriate treatment method for the machine. Therefore, it needs to be analyzed from data collected at random to measure the effectiveness of the machine using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). OEE calculation is influenced by the availability rate, performance efficiency, and the rate of quality. Overhead Crane machine OEE calculation shows the failure in the ideal value of OEE as a result of the low availability of the machine rate (71.63%) and high breakdown time of the machine. To reduce the rate of breakdown frequency, method of treatment needs to be improved (maintenance). Routine maintenance can be performed by the operator to extend engine life and extending the time of the breakdown, using the method Autonomous Maintenance. The implementation of this method is expected to improve the durability of the engine, so the engine does not often experience breakdown.

Abstract

A lot of manufacture industry companies still have not implemented safety and health working management system. Whereas, the Indonesia government has announced a legislation to manage working safety.  Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (PT IKPP) company Tangerang, in order to fulfil safety and health working has implementing safety and health working management system in their company. To measure safety and health working management system that has been done, comparison between results data in the field with policy that set up by Indonesia government. Based on the comparison, the safety and health working management system is done about 75 percent.

Abstract

Article discusses an alternative quality control that has the same function with controlling map that has been known by the industry society but the suggested controlling map is offering a new approach, that is using the value of DPMO (Defect Per Millions). Procedure and view of DPMO and the suggested graphic control, hopefully can become suplement for the existent of controlling map so preventive action can be done and company can estimate the quality cost.

Abstract

Indonesian Air Force Hospital Level II Dr. M. Salamun, Bandung as medical services also serve the members and families of Indonesia Forces and community. This research aims to identify the dominant characteristics of organization through perception survey to personnel of that hospital by using the rules in that hospital. Data process using factor analysis that describe dominant characteristics that have unit of data observation, analyze some manifest variables, and combine into few latent variables but have significant information that needed.

Abstract

This paper describes the application of Tabu Search to solve a U-shaped line balancing problem which seeks to obtain the minimum cycle time using the number of workers available (type I line balancing problem). To accommodate the differences between operators, this paper uses stochastic processing times. The performance of the proposed algorithm is analysed using various hypothetical cases. The cases are different in terms of the complexity of presedensi structure, the desired cycle times, and the standard deviation of processing times. This paper also studies the impact of the Tabu Search parameters on the performance of the proposed algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to Maximum Ranked Positional Weight method in all the cases and to Ant Colony System-based algorithm in several cases. This paper also finds that in several cases, the performance of the proposed algorithm is not influenced by the parameters of Tabu Search.

Abstract

Article discusses an incubator business in a university. From the research, it can be concluded that to manage an incubator is really obvious that the management should have an idea to create a business and make some profit. All the activity will be limited with the reality from the market. Because of that, the staff and management in the incubator have to have an attitude to be an entrepreneur.

Abstract

International Mobile Telecommunication-2000 (IMT-2000) is a third-generation mobile communication system. It has been established as an international standard to realize advanced services and also overcome the performance limitations of the telephone and data communication services that are based on existing second-generation mobile communication systems (i.e., Personal Digital Cellular (PDC), CDMAOne, and Global Systems for Mobile communications (GSM). This research outlines the services recommended in IMT-2000 and describes the base station systems, switching systems, and various servers of the IMT-2000 network architecture.

Abstract

Pasta industry is a very interisting topic to be solved by production planning and inventory control approach. Because of the raw material is wheat cernel that would not found in Indonesia, so it is important to manage the inventory and production. Wheat cernel that use for pasta industry is ones who growth in sub tropics country. Indonesia is a tropic country, that is why to produce pasta, Indonesia has to import from United Stated of America or Australia. Â
