Abstract

The purpose of quality control that is done by a company is to give a qualified product to costumer and keep the company image. The best quality control for this time is Six Sigma quality control that has a goal to get Defect Per Million Opportunity (DPMO) for 3,4 or 99,99966% from what the customer expected from the product. The purpose of this research is to identify a problem that have connection with quality and element that becomes the biggest Cost To Quality (CTQ) on container bottle production process using Six Sigma method.

Abstract

The purposes of this research is to know how high is the competition level in a computer high education service industry. Based on analysis, it can be concluded that the competition level in a computer high education service industry in Java Island is increasing in the future. But, the bargaining power in a computer high education service industry is getting weaker to the customer. Based on the competition level, the right strategy to perform is differentiate strategy focus.

Abstract

Planning system of customer needs in Astra Honda Motor Company using Material Requirement Planning system with order applying several metods, for example Lot for Lot, POQ, and EOQ. The disadvantages of those applied system is not knowing which method is the most advantages. Therefore, a research on how to compare the having cost for each method is needed. The result, Lot For Lot (LFL) method is the method  minimal cost.

Abstract

Traffic Light Signals play important roles to control intersection. Now the biggest problem of traffic light signals are timing parameter and phasing are not suitable with volume and characteristic of arrival and caused overload queue in node or internodes. Webster already developed queue models for optimum determining traffic light time, so waiting time can be minimized. This research used Webster’s queue modeling. The results shows that with changing phase movement, waiting time decrease until 25,59 %.

Abstract

In the telecommunication industry, network infrastructure holds a major role to deliver excellent service and achieve higher Continuity of Service to the customer. The demand of capacity and broadband speed in good quality (Internet, video on demand, wireless broadband, etc) has brought a fundamental change in the infrastructure and must be prepared by provider in deploying fiber optic backbone as part of a reliable system with the lowest attenuation. Factorial Design and Analysis of Experiments were used to get exact results that attenuation is determined by related components such as fiber optic brand, type of splicer, type of fiber termination and the location placed. Power Budget analysis is needed in deploying all the communication system, besides Operation and Maintenance activities in managing and monitoring the quality in real time mode. So when there is a fault in the system, it could be warned and recovered immediately. This gives signs to all telecommunication industry parties (provider, vendor, and regulator) to give mutualism contribution in providing reliable services to the customer.

Abstract

A long with the increasing of market demand on XYZ company product, it will be opened a new design sub line in Surabaya. The purpose of this article is to give working station design suggestion and design sub line working element for production capacity 450 unit/day and measuring efficiency on every working station. That is why, it need a follow up research to get the description of the problems. The problems can be identified after that and then start with data collection that consist of company general data, working element data, and working measure data that collect from direct measurement using stopwatch. After the data is collected, the next step is process data to be use as a basic planning in developing working station.

Abstract

The research present, a test on oxidation prevention for steel material AISI 316L and 316Ti on a high temperature using thermographimetry test. To observe micro structure after oxydation and the effect on oxyde layer characteristic, some tests are done, which are  a test on metalography using optical microscope, a test on X-Ray Difractometer (XRD), also micro harshness measurement. The result of this research hopefully becomes data input for evaluating and analysing material design on high temperature. The conclusion is AISI 316L and 316Ti stainless steel material can be used for mechanic component material operated below 700°C with corrosion occured under permission standard.

Abstract

This article elaborate on such as, the prototype inspection, and further steps to introduce the idea of neural network system’s implementation. The desain improvement that were assigned by the Manufacturing Review Board (MRB) will be proposed to aspire the computing systems that facilitates the whole decision systems on improving the production systems in the manufacturing plant. The MRB-Computing Intelligence program and application presented in this article have been included in the assessment model of the neural network system.

Abstract

PT XYZ, an Indonesian public company, is one of cement producers in Indonesia. In order to produce good quality of cements, it designed manufacturing processes with good quality of facilities. One of its processes is burning process using rotary kiln with temperature up to 1,450 °C that may cause deterioration due to thermal expansion. Therefore, it should be coated by fire bricks as its spare parts. In general, a fire brick is built to withstand high temperature with low thermal conductivity. It also has such a limited useful life so that having excessive stocks may elevate costs, while running out of stock may cause the production to stop running. In order to keep the production running well, the company intuitively placed orders with additional 37.5% to its requirements. However, this technique has caused excessive stock levels and financial burdens. Therefore, the company has initiated an improvement initiative to optimize its stock. After conducting in-depth observation and comprehensive research, the company found that by using Spare Part Quantity Determination, it can reduce its inventory cost by 28.05% from previously inventory cost up to IDR 3.058 million to IDR 2.2 million per year.

Abstract

Material efficiency from part weight comparation to material weight in PT TMMIN for stamping material body of A Model car is still low. This condition influences the high of production cost. That is why a method to determine an optimum material measurement, mhich is material measure that is able to fulfil the part without reducing the quality is needed. Data collection,information, and a test with supportive data is done to get analysis method to produce a formula in determining a material optimum measurement. From the formula, it can become a guide to material measurement for stamping material body of A Model car so it can increase efficiency and cost reduction.
