Abstract

Jakarta and Jabodetabek area (Greater Jakarta) developed very rapidly in the last ten years. In addition, the development in this region led to the increased of motor vehicle ownership, particularly motorcycles. The growth in the number of vehicles that are not followed by the addition of a sufficient length of road causing traffic problems in the Jabodetabek area. Within about 10 years, travel time increased or travel speed dropped significantly in Jakarta. In addition, the implementation of several development programs, as results of the Study on Integrated Transportation Master Plan for the Jabodetabek (SITRAMP Jabodetabek) are not going according to plan, caused by weak legislation, lack of financial resources, difficulties in land acquisition, institutional constraints, and constraints in the implementation of traffic restrictions. Keywords: motor vehicle ownership, travel time, SITRAMP Jabodetabek

Abstract

The volume of traffic on the road sections leading to the center of the City of Bandung is influenced by the number of vehicles used by students of favorite school located in the center of Bandung. This study was carried out on the trips made by the students of the state favorite schools in Bandung and the impact of the trips on the performance of the road. The results indicate that if there were not any journey undertaken by students heading to favorite schools, the degree of saturation of road or the potential traffic congestion on the road could have been reduced. Keywords: favorite schools, traffic volume, road service level.

Abstract

Pavement recycling technology, as an alternative technology in road pavement construction and maintenance, is continuously developed. The aim of this study is to modify recycled material by adding a polymer that is able to improvethe physical properties and performance of asphalt and recyled mixture. Asphalt mixture used in this study was Aspahlat Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) containing Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), fresh materials, asphalt Pen 60/70, and SBS polymer. The proportion of RAP used was 20% and 30% of the total weight of the mixture. For each RAP variation, asphalt Pen 60/70 was mixed with 0%, 2.5%, and 5% of SBS polymer. Fatigue performance of mixture was, then, measured using 4-Point Bending Test Apparatus. The results show that RAP asphalt has lower penetration and higher viscosity values. Fatigue test shows that the increase in the proportion of RAP will improve the fatigue resistance of the mixture.Keyword: Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement, SBS Polymer, fatigue performance.

Abstract

Limited size of the road dimension in an area could prevent formal public transport (four-wheeled vehicles) to serve the area. This condition led to the rise of public transport alternatives, such as motorcycle ojek, with flexible routes and rates. Currently, their operation and service tend to increase in many cities in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the potential use of ojek as an alternative to public transport in urban areas.Analyses were performed using the causal relationship between services quality factors with the satisfaction and loyalty of users, using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results showed that more than 70% of users who will continue to use motorcycle ojek for a long time, especially in suburban areas, and about 30% are likely to switch to alternative modes, especially users with the end destination of employment. Keywords: motorcycle-ojek, user satisfaction, user loyalty.

Abstract

This paper attempts to elaborate the relationship of the economics activities of commodities toward export -specifically the production of goods and services that generate freight transportation. The spatial data of commodities related to the economics’ activities (resources, factories, and outlets), the transportation data(infrastructures, modes, and services), and government regulations, are use in formulating the method for freight transportation planning utilizing intermodality concept, to produce efficient freight movements and to enhance sustainable mobility and economic development in the regional scale. Keywords: economics activities, freight transportation, sustainable mobility.

Abstract

Aceh province heavily relies on the road transportation to support its economic development. Freight movement carried out by land transport (mostly on road) is more than 95% in this province. This condition is even worsened by trucks which tend to carry overload. This study is conducted to evaluate pavement performance in the east corridor of roads in the Aceh Province caused by overloading trucks, using the AASHTO method. The pavement preservation cost analysis is based on the pavement design life of 10 years. The results show that the preservation costs for 2-axle colt truck is Rp. Rp. 847/ton-km, for 2-axle engkel truck is Rp. 1,377/ton-km, for 3-axle tronton truck is Rp. 789/ton-km, and for 3-axle intercooler truck is Rp. 1,086/ton-km.Keywords: Aceh, preservation, performance, damage, highway.

Abstract

The aircraft traffic activities at the Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Makassar, has been causing noise disturbance on the people who live in the vicinity. This study aims to analyze the condition of the area and landscaping noise barrier protecting Sudiang residential areas, adjacent to the airport. The data were analyzed to produce a concept of handling the problem. The results show that noise barriers located in the Sudiang residential area fall in the low category, with less capability to reduce or solve the noise problem. For this reason, the noise barrier system in Hasanuddin Airport needs to be improved so that people living in the airport area is not disturbed. Keywords: airports, noise, noise barrier.

Abstract

Proper bonding between adjacent pavement layers is very important to ensure good pavement performance. Manual torque bond test is known to be one of the tests to determine mechanical properties of bond between adjacent pavement layers. However, the test has several drawbacks that may affect the accuracy of results. This paper is focused on the development a mechanically controlled automatic torque bond test in order to eradicate the drawbacks associated with the manual torque bond test. A trial test and calibration of the newlydeveloped apparatus was performed to ensure the accuracy of results. The nominal loading rate of the manual torque bond test performed at 600Nm/min was found to be lower than the target loading rate, leading to a lower measured shear strength compared to that of the automatic torque test. It was also found that the appearance of lateral shear would not significantly affect the shear strength. Keywords: bond test, torque, shear, loading rate.
