Abstract

Abstract Walking is an important transportation mode in people daily commute. Pedestrian perspective and walking distance assessment are necessary on aiding the design the public transportation system for better system coverage and the pedestrian facility on the corresponding area. This research aims to asses the perspective of people when they willing to walk instead of taking other modes corresponding toward the recent pedestrian facility improvement around Universitas Indonesia. Data were colected by asking samples of pedestrains about their walking preference over using the campus buses and later processed using the theory of discrete choice model and utility function. Data analysis shows people naturally choose walking as their mode for last mile trip instead of other modes. The distance of walking distance add the constrain for people to walk while the time saving from other modes will encourage people to walk instead of taking other modes. In addition, facility improvement futher helped the encouragement. Kata-kata kunci: jarak berjalan, perspektif pejalan kaki, fasilitas pejalan kaki, pilihan diskrit

Abstract

Pavement recycling technology, as an alternative technology in road pavement construction and maintenance, is continuously developed. The aim of this study is to modify recycled material by adding a polymer that is able to improvethe physical properties and performance of asphalt and recyled mixture. Asphalt mixture used in this study was Aspahlat Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) containing Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), fresh materials, asphalt Pen 60/70, and SBS polymer. The proportion of RAP used was 20% and 30% of the total weight of the mixture. For each RAP variation, asphalt Pen 60/70 was mixed with 0%, 2.5%, and 5% of SBS polymer. Fatigue performance of mixture was, then, measured using 4-Point Bending Test Apparatus. The results show that RAP asphalt has lower penetration and higher viscosity values. Fatigue test shows that the increase in the proportion of RAP will improve the fatigue resistance of the mixture.Keyword: Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement, SBS Polymer, fatigue performance.

Abstract

Abstract The Minimum Service Standard for toll road services is needed to ensure the achievement of comfort, smoothness, and traffic safety for road users. The Minimum Service Standard that applies to all toll roads in Indonesia is the Minimum Service Standard, which refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 392/PRT/M/2005 on Minimum Service Standards for Toll Road. Monitoring and evaluation of the fulfillment of the Minimum Service Standard has been done periodically, but there are still some indicators that cannot always be met by Toll Road Operators. This study is intended to assess the indicators which cannot always be met in the toll road sections that have been operating in Indonesia. The study was conducted based on monitoring data, the result of field survey, conducted in 27 toll roads in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Based on the analysis, it is found that there are 6 indicators of the Minimum Service Standard that often cannot be met, or 29 % of the indicators in the Minimum Service Standard. Keywords: Minimum Service Standard, toll road service, toll road, service indicator  Abstrak Standar Pelayanan Minimal untuk pelayanan jalan tol sangat diperlukan untuk menjamin tercapainya kenyamanan, kelancaran, dan keselamatan berlalulintas bagi pengguna jalan. Abstract

Safety is one of the main considerations in designing toll roads. Vehicle running at speed higher than the speed limit contribute to such a high number of traffic accident. PT Jasa Marga, the operator of Cipularang toll road, has taken preventive actions to reduce the number of accidents by installing transverse rumble strips. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of installing transverse rumble strips at Cipularang toll road in reducing the speed of light vehicles and the number of accidents. Using parametric and non-parametric tests, this study showed that the transverse rumble strips do not affect the speed of light vehicles. In addition, the transverse rumble strips has no significant effect in reducing the number of accidents either. Keywords: traffic safety, toll roads, transverse rumble strips, traffic accidents.

Abstract

Slag as waste material of steel-making process has similar characteristics with aggregate that has been widely used in pavement construction. The use of slag as chip seal aggregate to provide skid resistance needs to be analyzed. In this laboratory study, the chip seal samples are made using steel slag and natural aggregate. The bonding materials used are asphalt and epoxy resin. Skid resistance tests for all chip seal samples and also hot rolled sheet pavement without chip seal application are performed using the Portable British Pendulum Tester. The results show the variations of chip seal aggregate weight are inconsistent. The natural aggregate used as chip seal material could produce high skid resistance value of 10.3% higher than that using steel slag. Also the skid resistance of chip seal with the ALD 3 mm are not significantly different with that of ALD 6 mm. Similar results occur on the skid resistance of chip seals using epoxy resin and asphalt. Keywords: steel slag, waste material, chip seal, the Portable British Pendulum Tester, skid resistance.

Abstract

Abstract Traveling decision was part of activity scheduling process which to be basis of activity demand modeling. In activity-based modeling, traveling was defined as movement with sequential process concentrating to through segments starting from home and back to home which more realistic than old model, trip based which used by four stages model. Using this approach model, the transport passenger modal split which was usually done by the people are analyzed in order to answer why recently the use of motorcycle was increased in number. The proportion of motorcycle which was increased  in composition of roadway traffic reflect to the condition of modal split which done by the people from the available mode.  Modal split was conditional decision on choosing decision in previous level, i.e. pattern of acitivity, time of the day, destintion and number of stop. The results of this study was expected to provide detail description of variables which were very influence to transportation modal split process. Keywords: mode choice, activity-based

Abstract

Abstract Some research about the value of road safety has been widely practiced in many countries. One approach that is commonly used for the determination of the value of the safety of road transport is by asking directly to the public about the preferences or willingness to pay in order to improve the safety aspects. Human preferences in this model are built on the behavioral theory with economics perspective, which explains that human behavior is formed by preference. The basic premise of this theory states that every human being has a preference for a number of goods. The problem is that safety is included in the category of non-market goods that are not traded and often rrespondents refuse to answer questions directly related to willingness to pay. Therefore, in order to obtain objective answers from the respondents, the form of questions for the willingness to pay should be linked with other proxies. The purpose of this study was to calculate the willingness to pay on valuation of road safety for specific communities by designing the willingness to pay questions which is associated with the proxies of vehicle maintenance and health maintenance. Keywords: value of road safety, willingness to pay, vehicle maintenance, health maintenance  Abstrak Beberapa penelitian tentang nilai keselamatan jalan telah banyak dilakukan di berbagai negara.
