Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain project-based learning activities on instructional media courses for the design of learning media at elementary schools. This study also aimed to determine the students’ perceptions towards project-based learning in instructional media courses.  This study was a quantitative descriptive study using literature study and surveys.  One of learning activities in media course which used project-based learning model was designing visual, audio-visual, and multimedia learning media. The stages in designing the learning media were started from analyzing basic competencies in one subject, making a learning media framework, creating the design results, and finally presenting how to use the learning media as well as publishing to Google Classroom. The results revealed that students' perceptions towards project-based learning in learning media courses based on each indicator were as follow. The percentage for the indicator of student and lecturer interactions was 82.53% (good); for the indicator of students’ learning interests was 80.66% (good); for the indicator of competency in understanding teaching materials was 88.53% (good); for the indicator of competency to think critically, effectively, and efficiently was 88.66% (good); for the indicator of time management competence was 80.26 (good); for the indicator of students’ learning outcomes was 88.40% (good), and for the appropriateness of project-based learning application with subject characteristics was 91.20  % (very good).

Abstract

This research aimed to find out stages in developing a handout based on Banten culture for teaching materials and the validity of the handout. This research utilized Research and Development (R&D) method by Sugiyono that consisted of 6 steps, namely: (1) problem analysis, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revisions, and (6) product trial test. The development of the handout was carried out through the validation test by the material experts, media experts, and education experts. Then, to accomplished the limited trial test, a product trial test was conducted after the validation test involving 15 fourth-grade students at SDN Unyur as the research subjects. Findings of this research were that the percentage from the material experts was 95% with a very feasible category. Then, the result from the media expert obtained a percentage of 78% with feasible category. After that, the result from the education expert indicated that the percentage for the handout was 93% with very feasible category. Meanwhile, the results of the trials product obtained the percentage of 90% with very feasible category. Based on these results, it could be concluded that the handout based on Banten culture for the fourth-grade students at SDN Unyur was feasible to be used using as the teaching materials after going through the six stages of development procedures.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of implementing Gallery Walk model on the learning activities and skills in writing pantun of the fifth grade students at SD Negeri 59 Garotin, Kecamatan Anggeraja, Kabupaten Enrekang. The type of experimental research used in this study was Quasi Experimental Research with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The students’ learning outcomes were analyzed by using t test after the prerequisite test was carried out, namely: the normality test and the homogeneity test.. The results showed that the average percentage of the students' learning activities in the experimental class was 91.06% which was included in the very high category while the average percentage in the control class was 76.78%. The results also showed that the average value of the students’ learning outcomes in the experimental class was 87.36%, while the average value in the control class was 77.05%. in addition, the result of  t test revealed that the value of tcount (2.875) > ttable (2.032) with Sig (2-tailed) < 0.05, namely 0.007. Thus, the hypothesis was proven to be accepted.
