Abstract

In line with cognitive abilities, students’ skills in behavior (affective domain) are also required to be aligned with the Pancasila students’ profile. Students are expected to have characters, namely Faith, Pious to God Almighty, and noble character; Global Diversity; Working together; Creative; Critical Reasoning; and Independence. The purpose of this paper is to develop valid and reliable math questions with Pancasila students’ profile characteristics. The research used the instrument development method developed by Saifuddin Azwar, which includes setting goals, limiting the size domain, operationalization of behavioral aspects, item write-up, expert analysis, field trials, psychometric analysis, and final compilation. The development results indicate that 15 questions on fractions with different denominators are characterized by the Pancasila students’ profile. After validating the content and field trials validated by the expert in the form of construct validation, reliability, and discrimination tests, it was found that 15 questions were valid by 4 expert validators. 12 out of 15 questions were stated to be constructively valid, 12 questions were reliable, and 11 questions have good discriminatory power enough.

Abstract

The discipline in learning is crucial to achieving the effectiveness of teaching-learning. In fact, it is still found that there are undisciplined students encountered during the learning process. Based on the observation results of elementary school students at one of the Christian schools, students who did not follow the rules and procedures were found, such as not using a raised hand so which causes the class to be conducive or unstable. The solution to this problem is the consistency of rule and procedure implementation. It is aimed to see the consistency of the rule and procedure implementation as an attempt to develop the first-grade students’ discipline. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method. The result indicates the consistency of the rule and procedure implementation can develop students’ discipline. It is characterized by an attitude change indicated by students. Still, teachers’ consistency is needed continually in order to make significant behavior. As Christian educators, teachers certainly must believe in the truth of God as a source as the bible, see the existence of God through Jesus Christ as an exemplar, and reflect good character, but must realize that only the holy spirit can empower every student. The recommendation that can be given to teachers is that teachers must be consistent in applying each class rule and procedure so it can produce a significant change in attitude.

Abstract

This paper discusses the improvement of teachers’ competence in developing lesson plans (RPP) through workshops. Lesson Plan is a teacher's teaching tool in the classroom. A teacher must be able to plan, create a quality teaching and learning process, and assess and evaluate learning outcomes. Workshops are a part of the investments in human resources to improve work capabilities and skills in improving employee performance. The research in this paper is a School Action Research (PTS) using the research design model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The research was conducted at SDN 012 Rumbai Jaya. The research subjects involved 16 teachers. Two cycles indicate the results of the teacher's competence and development increased significantly. In the first cycle, four teachers were very active category with a percentage of 25% while in the second cycle, nine teachers were very active category with a percentage of 56.25%. Based on the quality of developing lesson plans, there is a significant improvement from cycle I to cycle II with a percentage of 50%. Thus, the teacher's competence has increased in compiling and developing Lesson Plans (RPP) through workshops at SDN 012 Rumbai Jaya.

Abstract

The lack of students’ reading interest is indicated by many students who are more interested in playing with gadgets than reading a book. It is exacerbated by the condition of the library, which has been closed for approximately 5 years so it makes students less facilitated to read. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the implementation of Sustained Silent Reading increases fifth-grade students’ reading interest. The research was conducted at SDN Pekantingan 1 Cirebon. The method used was qualitative research method with study cases and data that are used and produced are descriptive data. Based on the AKM Kampus Mengajar’s pre-test dan posttest, the results indicate that there is a significant value. After implementing Sustained Silent Reading, the students dominantly achieve a significant value. Even though the posttest score did not reach 80, students still managed to obtain a significant score that was higher than the pretest. In conclusion, the implementation of Sustained Silent Reading is effective and can increase students' interest in reading.
