Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of structured numbered head model using zig-zag media to poem writing skills of class V Gugus Arjuna State Elementary School, Semarang City. This research belongs to quantitative research which has type of experimental research using Quasi Experimental Design and applied Nonequivalent Control Group form. The subjects of this research were students of class V Gugus Arjuna State Elementary School, SemarangCity. The samples of this research were students of Class VA Krobokan State Elementary School as control class and students of class VB as experimental class. Sampling technique was used area sampling. Data gathering technique was used documentation and test. The research data result was analyzed by using prerequisite test and hypothesis test. The study data result were analyzed using t- test and n-gain test. The result of the hypothesis test showed thatt(calculate) 1.6927 > t(tabel) 1.66. N-gain control class 0.132 (low) and experimental class 0.320 (medium). From the analysis it can beconclude that structured numbered head learning model using zig-zagmedia is effective to poem writing skill of class V Gugus Arjuna State Elementary School, Semarang City.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the low motivation of grade IV elementary school students. The study aims to determine extrinsic factors that influence the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in Gugus 2 Sail District Pekanbaru City. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The research sample consisted of 149 students. The data collection technique used is the questionnaire technique. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics. The results showed that extrinsic factors that affect student learning motivation at 8.26% were influenced by learning methods, 10.02% were influenced by teacher relations with students, 10.20% were influenced by student relations with students, 11.22% were influenced by discipline school, 8.61% influenced by learning tools, 10.93% influenced by school time, 10.70% influenced by learning standards above size, 10.66% influenced by building conditions, 10.20% influenced by curriculum, 9, 21% is influenced by homework. The conclusions of the study show that extrinsic factors that influence the learning of fourth-grade students of Gugus 2 Sail District Pekanbaru City is school discipline.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to re-analyze the effect of before and after the use of mind mapping in improving the learning outcomes of elementary school social studies (IPS). The study used a meta-analysis method. This research begins by formulating research topics, then developed again into the formulation of research problems, and at the final stage is to search relevant articles for data collection. Data was obtained by searching online journals through google Scholar with search keywords "mind mapping", "social studies learning outcomes", and "elementary social studies learning". As many as 20 articles were found, but only 11 articles were relevant to this study. The data obtained is processed again using quantative methods. Based on the results of the analysis of mind mapping proven to be able to improve student learning outcomes with the lowest to highest average of 12.95 - 93.05% with the average final result 40.17%.

Abstract

This research is a school action research conducted at the Lubuk Batu Jaya District Elementary School in Indragiri Hulu Regency. The population in this study were all elementary school teachers in the Lubuk Batu Jaya Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency, amounting to 60 people. The problem behind this research is the low motivation of teacher work in the primary schools of the Lubuk Batu Jaya Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The purpose of this study is to increase themotivation of working teachers. The results of the study prove that, the number of assessment scores on pre-cycle is 894 with an average of 62.08 sufficient categories, in the first cycle, the number of scores increases to 1057 with an average of 73.40 good categories, and in cycle II the number of scores in cycle II increases 1210 with an average of 84.02 very good categories. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that through academic supervision it can improve the motivation of the work of the Lubuk Batu Jaya District Elementary School teachers in Indragiri Hulu Regency.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the awareness of the importance of applying basic skills to manage classes for deaf students who are not as appropriate. This results in deaf students not being able to get the optimal learning process. This research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive method. Descriptive learning research aims to find out the application of basic teaching skills in managing classes of deaf students in Extraordinary Elementary Schools. The study was conducted in two classes, namely, the low class and high class with the research subject is the low and high-class teachers. The research data is obtained from observing the teacher's skills in managing the class and interviews with related sources. The results of the study are that the application of basic teaching skills in managing classes for deaf students has been carried out in accordance with the components of classroom management even though they have not met all the indicators of observation. Classroom arrangement has also supported a more optimal classroom management process. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that the implementation of basic teaching skills in managing the class of deaf students at the Extraordinary Elementary School of Love for Pekanbaru Pekanbaru has been done quite well.

Abstract

The role of a teacher is so important in the learning process especially learning to read the beginning. Therefore, the role of a teacher greatly determines the success of students in learning to read the beginning, it is important for a teacher to have good teaching skills. One of these skills is explaining skills because in the learning process many demands the teacher can explain. The purpose of this study was to describe the teacher's explaining skills in teaching reading the beginnings of mentally retarded students at SDLB Kasih Ibu Pekanbaru. The research method used is qualitative research, this study tells of a symptom, event, or event that occurred now. Data obtained after the study can be seen that the teacher in applying explaining skills in teaching the beginning reading of mentally retarded students at SDLB Kasih Ibu Pekanbaru has been implemented quite well because the teacher has been able to carry out the components in explaining skills to achieve optimal learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of students who have difficulty in solving mathematical problems of with fractions. This research aims to find out and describe the difficulties experienced by student in solving mathematical problem in fraction. This type of research is qualitative research. This Study found that the difficulties experienced by students in solving fractions are difficulty in understanding the concept of fractional counting operations, difficulty because it does not master multiplication as a preparatory material, and difficulty in solving problem solving problems in fractions. Internal factors that cause students to have difficulty in solving math problems in fraction are low student motivation, students don’t like math, and low ability of students in mathematics. External factors that cause students to experience difficulties in fraction learning are unfavorable class conditions and poor classroom management.

Abstract

Ecological intelligence is an ability or competence possessed by individuals to adapt to their surrounding environment and apply it in daily life. In this study, the researchers examined the ecological intelligence of upper-grade elementary school students in terms of skills. Ecological intelligence in the skill dimension includes skills in using and utilizing resources, living in harmony with environmental conservation, solving environmental problems, and demonstrating responsibility toward the environment. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research design. The primary data were obtained through questionnaires distributed to respondents, while secondary data were collected through interviews and documentation as supporting data. The results of this study indicated that the ecological intelligence of upper-grade elementary school students was categorized as skilled, with a percentage of 89.89%. When viewed from each indicator, the ecological intelligence of upper-grade elementary school students was also categorized as skilled. These findings indicate that upper-grade elementary school students have begun to understand the importance of environmental protection and have shown concern for their surrounding environment.

Abstract

This research was motivated by differences in the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum compared to the previous curriculum. This study aimed to describe teachers’ competence in implementing the 2013 Curriculum (K13) learning on Theme 1 Sub-theme 3 for Grade IV at SDN 181 Pekanbaru. The subject of this study was the teacher of class IVB. The research design used in this study was descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study employed the Miles and Huberman data analysis technique, which consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the implementation of educative learning carried out by teachers through initial activities, core activities, and closing activities in one sub-theme of learning over four meetings reached 62% of the predetermined criteria. Based on the category of the multilevel scale, the teacher’s competence in implementing learning was classified in the poor interval.

Abstract

The implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model encourages students to be active in the teaching and learning process, actively think, and develop problem-solving skills, thereby creating active and independent learning that can improve student learning outcomes. To strengthen the scientific approach, it is recommended to apply Problem-Based Learning to encourage students to be creative and contextual, both individually and in groups. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of Grade IV students on Theme I at SDN 158 Pekanbaru by applying the Problem-Based Learning model. This type of research was classroom action research with a collaborative pattern. The purpose of this classroom action research was to improve student learning outcomes and enhance the quality of learning practices applied. The research subjects were Grade IVA students at SDN 158 Pekanbaru, totaling 31 students, consisting of 13 female and 18 male students. The data collection instruments used in this study were observation sheets of teacher and student activities, observation sheets of student attitudes, and learning outcome tests. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of this study showed that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model could improve student learning outcomes in Sub-theme 2 and Sub-theme 3, namely the baseline score (UH Sub-theme 1), which averaged 69.03, increased in Cycle I daily test (UH Sub-theme 2) to an average of 73.70, and further increased in Cycle II daily test (UH Sub-theme 3) to 84.03. Teacher and student activities at each meeting in Cycle I and Cycle II experienced an increase, although there were occasional fluctuations.
