Abstract

The existence of coliform bacteria on water sources can indicate that the water has been contaminated by material of human waste. This research is aimed at identifying the influence of construction of drug water well, construction of septic tank, and distance between drug water well and septic tank on the amount of coliform bacteria of water of dug well by using analytical survey method. The number of samples involved were 92 dug wells. Data obtained were analyzed by using linear regression test of significance level (α) of 5%. The research findings showed probability value of 0.001 for dug well construction, 0.000 for septic tank construction and 0.000 for distance between dug well and septic tank. Since the probability value of each variable was less than significance level (α) of 5%, dug well construction, septic tank construction and distance between dug well and septic tank significantly influenced the amount of coliform bacteria of dug well water. Keywords: dug well, septic tank, distance, the coliform bacteria

The causal factor is individual characteristics, for instance period of work and non-ergonomic of work attitude such as sitting position. This research aimed to analyze correlation between individual characteristics as well as sitting position and musculoskeletal disorder towards the silver artisan in Pulo Village Tempeh District Lumajang Regency. It was an observational analytic research by cross sectional approach. The population in this research was 155 persons. The samples which were 60 persons were determined by the formula developed by Snedecor and Cochran and simple random sampling technique. Collecting of data used interview, questioner and observation guidance. Meanwhile, analysis of data used Spearman and Statistic of Lambda Test with α = 0,05. The results of analysis indicate that there is a relation of exercise habit (p=0.005), , physical fitness (p=0.0001) and sitting position (p=0.028) to the musculoskeletal disorder. Based on this research, it is expected of doing socialization of musculoskeletal disorder prevention to the silver artisans through practicing of muscle stretching, moving to the more ergonomic in sitting position, doing sport continuously, and having more drinking water. Abstract

Climate change occurred in many areas in all over the world, have closely relationship with public health. The climate change brought damage for people’s live. Climate change caused by adding of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide). On the  other hands, people can cause increase of greenhouse gases. This paper  discusses relationship between climate change and public health, in the sense of climate change’s “contributions” to environment change, which leads to climate change and another way around the impact of climate change to the public health situation. Evidences from many regions show that climate change caused disasters and extreme weather. Disaster and extreme weather caused death, food scarcity, malnutrition, scarcity of fresh water, hence poor sanitation, change in vector prevalence, air pollution rises, and health risk with additional climate related disease burdens. On another side, some human cause climate change occurred through people’s practices of habbits  and behaviors that caused increasing of greenhouse gases. Their practices of  felling forest trees excessively and forest burning that caused deforestations, treatment of municipal waste with open dumping method, and used fossil energy excessively.
