Abstract

Welding is a fabric Welder i.e a fabrication process that applied to joint metal material by using temperature dissociation energy of diatomic. Up to this day, welding has been used widely on joining steel and engine constructions. The influence of thermal cycle on welding causes metallurgical changes i.e residual stress and changes of mechanical characteristics (hardness, strength tensile, reconnaissance of macro and micro structures) on the result of low carbon steel weldment. This research was done to obtain the proper treatment for normalizing weldment result on different current to mechanical character. The value of hardness and strength tensile is best obtained after normalizing process at temperature of 8600C is at the current of 140A with hardness mean value of 78,67 HRB ( weld), 73,89 HRB ( HAZ) and 70,11 HRB ( mains), while strength tensile is 45,835 Kgf/mm2.

Abstract

A Case study was taken as a research to investigate the physical process occurred in a simple electric circuit which consists of resistance component R and inductance L with direct voltage source. The general form of series circuit is represented a differential equation of the first order to count the current transfer equation can be found by many methods, they are the first ordered solution, Euler method, the third order Runge-Kutta method, and the fort order Runge-Kutta by using Matlab program. The examinationon by using step measurement with h = 0,05 caused error value to the first order solution method = 2.79%, Euler method = 3.8%, the third order Runge Kutta method = 2.1%, the forth order Runge Kutta method = 2.26%, using step measurement h = 0.1 caused error value to the first order solution = 2.27%, Euler method = 5.23%, the third order Runge Kutta method = 2.27%, the fourth order Runge Kutta method = 1.85% and using step measurement h = 0,15 caused error value to the first order solution = 5.81%, Euler method = 22,35%, the third order Runge Kutta method = 7.19%, the forth order Runge Kutta method = 4.7%.

Abstract

This paper addresses decomposition of the tasks of Software-Defined Radio (SDR) computation by taking Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying (GMSK) as a case study. The aim of this research was to produce a task graph of the SDR that was needed in scheduling of distributed computing with task parallelism using genetics algorithm. Based on the tasks decomposition and the evaluation of execution time of each task, we obtained a task graph of SDR computation. We conclude that there are eleven tasks for the modulator and fifteen for the demodulator.

Abstract

Effect of plate joint on automobile body which susceptible to corrosion has been investigated also corrosion rate on automobile plate when the coating has impacted. Rain and sea water was used as corossion medium as normally affected on automobile plate. Low carbon steel has been choosed as standart plate. The forming of plate as a joint which folding and welding used a standart manufacture of automobile industry. The re-sults have shown the losses weight of plate faster on the sea water environment. After immersed in the sea water for 627 hours the corrosion rate of folding plate joint has 0.000806 mpy, although it was at a standstill outstanding level. Coating paint can decrea-sed 20% corrosion rate, but still need attention to care if the automobile body was impac-ted.

Abstract

Effective measurement with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and concept of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is hoped able to in crease production volume and quality. OEE method is based on three factors, they are: availability, performance and quality. OEE value is got by multiplying the three factors. FMEA concept is carried out to decide the critical rating, evidence, and defection rating. RPN calculation is the result of those three rating multiplication shows the risk level of a failure. FTA concept is carried out by using OR gate to know the probability of failure evidence. The analysis that is got show OEE value of Paper Machine in two year: first year 60%, in crease to 83% in the second year. Cutter Asahi’s OEE value, in the first year, is 67%, in the second year become 73%. The first cause of low OEE is PLN drop power energy. The FMEA result identification is got highest RPN value that is 245 at Paper Machine process, with failure mode dirty, the main cause is dirt that dissolved in its production process and the screen that does not work maximally. To handle that cause needs a routine checking and cleaning in the process and screen by Paper Machine operator. Identification result of FTA indicates that highest failure probability on Paper Machine part is 0.01145.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to know whether the result of school examination in-fluences the result of national examination significantly. Observation data was taken from the third year science students of SMUN1 Limboto Gorontalo Regency Gorontalo Pro-vince. The best method to get regression model with unbias estimator is used the least square was done by using classical assumption examination, those are normal, multi-colinier an correlation ones. The result showed that national examination data, mean of Raport, Tryout, School examination marks and Practice examination, fulfill this assum-ption. Base on analysis data, it that in partially, UAN grades are influenced by: Raport grades with MSE=0,004 and R2=45.9%, Tryout grade with MSE= 0.09931 and R2= 59.3%, School grade with MSE=0.235691 and R2=5.8% and Practical grade with MSE=0.09931 dan R2 = 59.3%. Simultantly, UAN grades are influence by: Raport grade= –0.384, Tryout grade=0.848, School grades = –0.303 and Practical grade=0.082. Based on beta coefficient, it can be concluded that mean variable of tryout mark has the most dominant influences to national examination mark. The surtable mathematics model can be stated as Ŷ=4,985+ 0,182(x1)+0,370(x2)–0,261(x3)–0,280(x4)+0,376(lag_Y).

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find an information about varying soil resistant along residence area in Bantul Regency. The aim of the study is to compiling fixed grounding system. Factors controlling the grounding are ground resistivity, electrode resistivity, environmental condition, size and shape of the system. Ground resistivity needs a good grounding system, that accomplish to savety standard for people and its equipments. The ground system should be able to prevent dangerous caused by flash, whenever nuisance come out. It parposes to overcoming the current of ground system nuisance of electricity power, in order the power could be flowing to the ground, directly; not to the equipments. The resistivity data resulted from the field work measurements, shows some different va-lues in each place, that probably caused by different kinds of soils. For examples are re-gusol soil has a resistivity value of 22.05Ω, latosol 17.04Ω, and red mediteran 15.12Ω. Grumusol soil has resistivity of 7.8Ω, but after it’s analyzed by grounding with 4 electrode, the value is decrease into 4.22Ω. Those are caused by grumusol soil is clayy, while the other soils are sandy. Based of IEEE recomendation of ground resistivity values, home electricity should be <10Ω, while for flash protection should be < 5Ω. Up to now, the solu-tion for quenching the overload power, in order it’s unable to damage the equipments, it’s flowed to the ground directly.

Abstract

On the basis of economic and lower density considerations, Fe-Al-C alloy could be a good candidate for replacing some of the conventional stainless steel. Wherein, Al is used to replace the expensive alloy element in conventional Fe-Cr-C system. The aim of the research is to investigate tempering temperature influence to mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of Fe-1,52Al-1,44C in the 3.5% NaCl solution. Fifty kilograms of Fe-Al-C were prepared from mild steel scrap, high purity aluminium, and Fe-C. The alloy was prepared in a high frequency induction furnace with alloying was done in the ladle. Optical microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion rate were examined. The corrosion rate, were carried out with immersion methode in 3.5% NaCl. The optical micrograph shows that as cast Fe-1,52Al-1,44C alloy has ferrite and pearlite microstructure and has tendency to become ferritic microstructure with encreasing tempering temperature. Maximun tensile strength and maximum hardness took placed after hardening that was respectively 74,44kg/mm2 and 298,7 VHN. Maximum elongation was reached at 450oC tempering temperature. The result of corrosion testing showed that the alloy has decreasing corrosion rate with the increasing tempering temperature.

Abstract

Caolin or chines clay seldom used in industry, is formed of very little particles especially caolinite, i.e. a mixture of aluminum oxyde (Al2O3), silika oxyde (SiO2) and wa-ter (H2O). Each composition posseses a different characteristic. The article discusses a separation alumina from caolin which was from Semin, Klaten, the midle of Java, by cal-cination and elutriation methods. The calcination method is a separation one by breaking the bond between the substances using heat. In this case, it was used 800oC because at this temperature it reached vitrification point and the complex bond was broken. The sam-ple was dried under the sun, crushed, and screened by multiple screening i.e. 200 mesh, 230 mesh, 270 mesh, 325 mesh and 400 mesh. From the screening process it was ga-thered fraction between 325 and 400 mesh as the most one, therefor this farction was us-ed as a sample. This one then was elutriated with fluid terminal velocity was varied. It was obtanied that the concentration of alumina incresed relatively high at the fluid velovity of 0.1278 cm/s and 0.2117 cm/s i.e. the alumina concentration increased of 5,2% dan 7,4% became 76.81%.

Abstract

The application of coco fibre is widely open. In rural area, as a main source of coco fibre, the fibre IS only used for cooking and family products. As the technology development, how coco fibre can be applied as a part of composites materials. If it compound with other specific components, we can produce a new material with better mechanical properties. In this research, coco fibre with 0,2% wetness, compound with latex then pressed to get a coco mat with 2 mm thickness. Coco mat then formed with chopped strand mat to get a sandwich laminate composite. The original tensile strength of coco mat is 2,47 kgf/mm2 , and it will increased to 12,93 kgf/mm2 if it formed as sandwich laminate coco fibre. The tensile strength improves about 80, 90%.
