Abstract

The compony survive at this point is to create a good work system, from workers point of view, the demans of work and employment components of the existing system may causing many problems to be faced and it can lead to boredom at work. Each componenet to the work system towars level of stress faced by employees. The tools that used to determine the effect of the work system components towards work stress macroergonomics organizational work stress is macroergonomics organizational ques-tionnaire survey and path analysis. It can be seen that simultaneous effect of organi-zational condition employment conditions, physical environments, social enviroment, equipment and technology, and towards work stress experienced by employees amoun-ted to 0.820 and this proves that the influence af all work system components has been investigated is strongly affected the stress of work. While the partial effects of work system components to the stress of work are : organizational conditions amounted to 0,153, the working conditions are 0,166, the physical environment give 0,176 contri-bution, the social environment 0,066, equipment and thecnology amounted to 0,148, and the individual characteristic are to 0,111. So can conclude thet overally, the system components are significantly the work stress.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the need for a tool for community useful in diagnosing the disease in human being. This tool is an expert system which using Visual Basic 6.0. This expert system is used to diagnose and also able to provide medical advice. Inference method used is forward chaining with the model of Depth First Search. The output of this system in the form of the name of the disease and treatment suggestions.

Abstract

In the tropics, when the fruit is going to be cropped, the fruit temperature is same as the ambient temperature. It could reach more than 40 degree Celcius. One of the methods to make the fruit not easily damaged at the post-harvest is by applying the pre-cooling method. It aims to retard the respiration, minimize the vulnerability from the attack of micro-organisms, reduce the loss of water, and reduce the cooling load on the carrier and also the storage system. The fruit thermal conductivity and diffusivity values become the first important data to be recognized in order to determine the precooling time pro-cess to the desired temperature.The research is aimed to recognize the watermelon thermal conductivity and diffusivity values. Modeled as a ball shaped object, the water-melon is chilled in the cooler by natural convection. In the cooling process, the changing temperature in its fruit was recorded in the computer by using IC LM 35 sensors, every 5 minutes. The sensor was set in the ambient, on the fruit surface and in it’s inside with five different radius. There were three of watermelon by weight as 2,590 kg, 3,925 kg and 5,195 kg had been observed.In this research, the calculation of the watermelon thermal conductivity and diffusivity was based on the thermal resistance and capacity formulation. By numerical method, the average value of watermelon thermal conductivity was calcu-lated as 0,438 W/moC. Meanwhile the average value of thermal diffusivity was calculated as 1,137x10-7 m2/s.

Abstract

Cable channel that serves the electrical energy is the most vulnerable equipment in the installation of security. The occurrence of short circuit in the installation of household is usually caused by bad cable connection or because of damage to cable insulation. To anticipate the damage to cable insulation, required the knowledge of the factors that cause the damage is and how great the influence of these factors on insulation resistance. The effect of temperature can cause the wiring insulation degradation process because it can result in changes in the chemical structure of the material. Degaradasi this process is marked by a decrease insulation resistance, which is characterized by the rapid occurrence of breakdown voltage if the temperature continues to increase. The longer and higher temperature insulation material given the level of damage suffered by the material will also be greater. From the results of testing insulation resistance reduction characteristics can vary from insulating materials d test, depending on the percentage of additive materials are mixed with an insulating material, the degradation process continues over time due to a rise in temperature can cause the wiring insulation becomes stiff and the consequent breakdown voltage to the material will be faster.

Abstract

Company X is a printing company such as making leaflets, banners, billboards and others. There is a competitors in the region makes the company must continue to increase its productivity in accordance with the development of existing technology in order to have a high level of competitiveness. The existence of competitors in the region makes the company must continue to increase its productivity in accordance with the development of existing technology in order to have a high level of competitiveness.The purpose of this study is to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT) and determine performasi companies through content technology assessment (Technoware, Humanware, Infoware, and Orgaware) or THIO.The results showed that the SWOT method internal factors force score the highest points are the location of manufacturing sites is strategically located on the roadsite, the weakness factors is on the highest score of machinery because most existing engines are still using old technology, and opportunity analysis on external factors highest score is the level of technological progress, as well as a threat the highest score is the emergence of new competitors. While THIO obtained from the technological content of each component as follows: Technoware = 0633, Humanware = 0699, Infoware = 0439, Orgaware = 0498. In comparison has been measured also in similar companies in the company Y (as benchmarking) has a value of each component Technoware = 0.801; Humanware = 0.79; Infoware = 0.64; Orgaware = 0.78,.

Abstract

Currently Open Source software development takes place rapidly with a variety of variations. Support of many people towards Open Source software that is easy to come by, the main attraction that support poppularitas software. One of the Operating System that is popular among programmers in making Web-GIS is MapServer. Web-GIS a system that uses a computer device, to store, process, recall and manipulate geographic data. Using Geographic Information System (GIS) is expected for the users would be easier to know the mapping, GIS mapping for the location of the actual location can be described according to the conditions. MapServer is an example of a fairly successful operating system because it is supported by a community of loyal. By utilizing the Internet Geographic Information Systems Mapping Digital Loop Carrier can be applied using MapServer. Designing Web-GIS created using ArcView application assistance is very supportive in Web-GIS and mapping. Display Web-GIS on the Internet using MapServer and pemetaanya using ArcView, because ArcView is very supportive in the process of digitizing the map.

Abstract

Seaweed is a marine product that has been widely used as a food ingredient. In addition, seaweed can also produces carrageenan and alginate which is an important compound in the industry. It is important to know the influential factors and the optimum process conditions to get the maximum alginate yield. In this study, it is to be obtained the optimum process conditions of taking alginate from brown algae (Sargassum cymosum). The seaweed powder was analyzed the water content and the ash content. To get alginate, this material is soaking in acid and to be extracted. It is continued with the process of gel formation and the process of conversion of alginic acid to sodium alginate to obtain dry Na-alginate. The variabel of the experiments are variation of the concen-tration and immersion time in hydrochloric acid solution, the variation of temperature, time, and concentration of sodium carbonate solution that used in the extraction process, the influence of the degree of acidity of the deposition process of alginic acid into alginic acid gel. The optimum conditions that obtained are the immersion time in 0.5M of hydro-chloric acid is 90 minutes, the extraction process conditions are 400C for 90 minutes with the sodium carbonate concentration 0.5 M. The solution acidity of the deposition rate is 3.

Abstract

Operating system is a in computer program that regulates the resourcein a computer . The operating systems should monitor the status of each resource, decide which process has to get those resources, allocate resources, and claim back when it has done. To implement the process model, the operating system use a table / array called table with one entry for each process. Each entry contains the status of the process, the program counter, stack pointer, memory allocation, file status, scheduling information, etc. Wich from employment to ready status. In multiprogramming system, the processor also switch from one program to another program, run the program in a few milliseconds. At any given time, the processor is actually just did a program, but in a second of accumulation time, the processor was working on several programs, so the program look run in parallel. Critical region is a port of a program being access memory accordingly. Critical region happere on a mutual exclussion process, which is only one process being execute. Neverthless, there is a certain that we call race condition. It is a situation where some processes are access and manipulate the data accordingly. Thos, we have to pind some methode to prevent leftover process in writing process and reading process for data shared accordingly, at is mutual exclussion. It will examined on OS CPU simulator. Althought it can prevent the race conditions, it isn’t enough to do cooperation between some proces in parallel efficiently in using data shared.

Abstract

Advances in technology have made communication and information technology functions into convergent and known as ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Internet and smart devices have an important role as a medium for multimedia convergence at this time. Mobile communications technology also developed rapidly, as well as the development of features that support services in the GSM system, among others, is MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) that allows data transmission such as images, audio, and video.Computational complexity becomes an important concern in the development of cryptographic techniques on smart devices in the limited of bandwidth on wireless networks, also limited processing, memory, and time. This paper will discuss the security of image message using the concept of super encryption to optimize security of encryption key that adopts the concept of steganography method called End Of File (EOF). Applications built able to combine the speed, security, and flexibility so as to produce a good combination of speed, high security, complexity, reasonable computational overhead, and computational power.Image encryption algorithm is successfully implemented on a smart device with Android based operating system. Application also has the fastprocess and efficient computing resource. These are evidenced by the average time of encryption for image size of 256 x 256 pixels at 0.75 seconds and the image with a size of 480 x 640 pixels at 2.09 seconds. Average time decryption to image size of 256 x 256 pixels by 0.58 seconds and the image with a size of 480 x 640 pixels of 1.66 seconds.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hydrolysis of bagasse in the presence of sulfuric acid catalyst to produce furfural was studied. This objective of this work was to study the effects of catalyst consentration and stirrer speed on yield of furfural. The experiment were conducted by reacting bagas-se with sulfuric acid in a three neck flask sized 500 mL equipped with stirrer, heater, condenser, and thermometer. The reaction condition studied were catalyst concentration ranging from 4% to 20% and stirrer speed from 100 rpm to 500 rpm at reaction temperature 100ºC and reaction time 120 minutes. The concentration of furfural was analyzed to calculate the yield of furfural. The analysis of bagasse obtained that the water content of 6.76% and pentosan content of 18.86%. The results show that yield of furfural reached a maximum at the catalyst concentration of 8% is 5.79% and the yield of furfural reached an optimum at the stirrer speed of 400 rpm is 6.29%.
