Abstract

Natural wood drying or traditional drying by using solar energy be cause it is very cheap and easy to get, is usually used in Indonesia. Because Indonesia is in the tropical region, the air condition is humid with temperatur 18 – 300C and relative humidy around 60-80% then it is not advantage to do a natural wood drying system. To reaching the wood water content 12 % is very difficult and need very long time, thus kiln dryer existence is very important to replace the natural drying system.Convective drying is usually used as a one alternative to dry the wood in the and medium furniture industries, because this drying system is relative easy to be performed and cheap. This drying system is called conventional Drying (Conventional kiln dryer).For obtaining a convective drying model it’s influence on the wood drying rate, then in this research, to be performed the measurements of the air velocity, wood width and slit distance with constant temperature, the obtaining result is by increasing the air velocity, wood width and slit distance them, the convective drying is increasing.

Abstract

Clean water performing for urban society is a serious problem, because clean water is very important thing not only for life but also for home industry. To supply clean water from water sources to urban society neighborhood is needed a very expensive equipment, including the operational cost. Wind turbine is right solution to solve this problem as a energy source for water supplying for urban society because wind energy is available along a years. Savonius Rotor Wind Turbine is one of many Turbine Wind types. Savonius Rotor is a vertical shaft rotor type which simple construction and low cost production. Increasing the performance of this rotor is earned by using design optimization and modification method. This a low speed turbine need wind energy speed of 3–4 Beaufort Scale (7-16 knot) which has Centrifugal Brake, Hood and Ruder. This Savonius Rotor can supply 284, 47 Watt of electrical power that is used to water pumping.

Abstract

Manipulator or Industrial Robo is an equipment wich designed to manipulate human hand motion. Robot is belonging to industrial automation technology there are rapid development progress according to computer technology progress that able to make programmable automations. Robot is one of implementation programmable automation. In order to subtitute human labour by robot, there are many aspect must be considered, susch as: technical aspect, economical aspect, social and environment work conditions. Select and design of robot type, needed knowledge about joint, coordinate system or robot configuration, and work envelope. So, selecting robot type can work optimally.

Abstract

The model was tested to permanent employee of Private Colleges wich have im-plemented on line computerization system, with 202 samples wich categorized into cle-rical group as much as 91 samples, non clerical group as much as 111 samples, total ob-served group as much 202 samples. Problem this research do the demographic factors (age, sex, education, experience) and personality (computer anxiety, computer attitudes, math anxiety) have a significant influence skill in end user computing. The test is done in four steps i. e, non respones bias test, reliability and validity test, inter variable correla-tion, hypothesis test with multiple regression and the data analysis is conducted by using SPSS program version 1.0 for windows. The reserach results showed that demographic factors (age, sex, experience) had directly effect into expertise in end user computing. Personality factors such com-puter anxiety (efar – anticipation) ; computer attitude (intimidation) had directly effect to expertise in end user computing. A quite surprising result was demographic factor of education, and personality factors of computer attitude (pessimism – optimism); of math anxiety was undequately significant to expertise in end user computing. For increasing work’s result in environment with introduction of new technology of on line computerization system above, it is considered in decision making recruitmen hu-man resource with related to envollment, implementation of computer training and edu-cation for their permanent employee. The preparation of adequate faciloities was hopped to increase individual performance.

Abstract

In order to give more complete information about stock exchange development to public, "Bursa Efek Jakarta" (BEJ) has spread out stockt value movement data through press and elec-tronic. From fifteen index data component available, the important indi-cator in stock value exchange is Daily Stock Value Index (IHSG) and Trade Volume. Base on data taken by researcher through website of Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) on data menu trade at http://www.jsx.co.id, it was obtained data exchange pattern of IHSG and Trade Volume for 358 days and the researcher extrapolated the datum to the next time (predict the next 90 datum) The result of analysis by using software Minitab v13 showed that the mode of quadratic trend pattern is very suitable for both datum. Trend equation of IHSG data is: Yt = 1085,53-0,581334t+4,21E-03t2 and trade volume is: Yt =0,972451-1,50E-04t+3,93E-07t2. Forecasts value for next 90 datum is useful for business user in long term. The pattern of both datum is stationary in the first difference. So Box-Jenkins mode can be formed for IHSG data is ARIMA(1,0,0), with the first mode:Zt = 0,0838 Zt-1 + at; at~indN(0,0.9296); ARIMA(1,0,1) with the first mode: Zt = -0,10498-0,2482Zt-1+at-0,3399at-1; at~ind N(0,0.84843) and ARIMA(1,0,0) with the first mode: Zt = -0,4273Zt-1+at;at~ind N(0,0.6046). With the same way it is obtained Box-jenkins mode for Trade Volume data : ARIMA(1,0,0) with the first mode: Zt= -0,4051Zt-1+at; at~ind N(0,32.0315), ARIMA(0,0,1) with the first mode:Zt = -4,73+at+0,7342at-1; at~ind N(0,6.0753) dan ARIMA(1,0,1) with the first mode: Zt = 3,9811-0,1706Zt-1+at+0,8230at-1­; at~ind N(0,23.04)

Abstract

Nowadays, the fast technology development asked everyone who is able to pro-active in information technology, especially in information system development based on web. Information which is completed by visualization and animation can be easier understood by users. Interactive website is made to make easier the introduction and improvement of tourism interest in Bantul by using Macromedia Firework application program that is used for animation, programming language for PHP and data base server using MySQL ,Adobe Photoshop is used for picture editin. This interactive website is Bantul tourism communication media that based on web. It is able to make easier for all tourism stakeholders to know, to be familiar with, to understand data and Bantul tourism characteristics will be easy to be accessed by stakeholders or tuorists, both foreign and local tourists. The result of making website is to increase the numbers of tourists who visit to Bantul, this caused the increasing of society prosperity, especially society around tourist resort. Abstract

A job description of a programmer is to make problem solutions by developing a qualified software. The success of making software is based on good or bad design ma-de. Parameter of developing qualified software according to developer is easy to be de-signed, improved and reusable.This research discussed about the standard of modeling and designing software which was made by software designer. The result of this research showed that universal standard is needed in designing, especially related to software development and im-plementation. Good design not only showed object in detail but also not depend on soft-ware language used. UML is one of media to design software. Case study of streaming data object using UML, proved that design standard is needed for developer to make implementation ea-sier.

Abstract

Development of voice over internet protocol technology is so fast because of computer and internet technology. The development of VoIP is caused by high cost of communication using PSTN line telephone. Then an idea to change voice traffic to computer net which is cheaper appears. To communicate using VoIP needs some protocols. The first major protocol is signal protocol that function as starting, managing, and ending the communication. Some examples of signal protocols are 11.323 from ITU-T, and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) from IETF. Both can serve VoIP with different ways. SIP is text based, whereas 11.323 is binary based. Although as general both protocols have the same performances in developing VoIP application, communication quality depends on client program used, code, hardware configuration, and net condition.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Human being has extraordinary ability for recognizing objects based on these feature knowledge that has been observed. Computer is a good, fast, accurate and efficient data processing device. Computer able to solve the unstructured problem, uncomplete information and qualitative data Artificial Intelligence (AI) problem. Pattern recognition is one of AI applications for classifying and identifying pattern or complex object by characteristics measurement or object features (color, shape, textute). A system to identify two object that have almost the same shape but defferent colors is made in this research. Pattern recognition method is made by one of the methods of Artificial Neural Network that is supervised (Supervised Learning) that is Back Propagation. Example object in this research using apple image and orange image. Calculation result in Backpropagation shows with 14 images colour, 10x10 matriks pixel and random selected weight, so sometimes to get large error. The resercer define if error more than 0.5 the system is not able to recognize tested images. To get high accurately simulation data is needed. The result of this research shows that learning procces by Backpropagation, systems recognize different objects based on the color feature.

Abstract

The design and operation of electrical power system, economic factor, environ-mental factor, security factor and reliability factor shoud considered. Some kinds of elec-trical power system criterion are voltage-drop and power-loss caused by peak load.The research conducts the contribution of 150 kV underground cable transmi-ssion line to increase Yogyakarta system voltage profile. A simple way to analysis some load flow study is using Electrical Transient Analysis Program ETAP Power Station 4.0.0. Applied to in PT. PLN (Persero) Jateng-DIY Sub System Region 3, 150 kV Transmission Line.The results of simulation showed that using underground cable transmission line can decrease voltage-drop rate at the power system rep to 0.74%, compared to using o-verhead transmission line which is 1.21%. Underground cable transmission line is gene-rated of reactive power by a value off 81.48% from load reactive power. So the under-ground cable transmission line contribute to decrease voltage-drop and power-loss on the electrical power system.
