Abstract

The background of this research is the textbook as a student’s handbook is not able toconstruct the student’s knowledge to find its own concept. Therefore, it is finally made ateaching material in the form of a constructivism-based module for integer material on theseventh grade of Public Junior High Scool 2 North Rao. The research aims to develop avalid and practical constructivism-based module. The type of the research is theexpansion by using 4-D model. 4-D model consists of 4 expansions, i.e. 1) Define, 2)Design, 3) Develop, and 4) Disseminate. The research is only conducted into three stages,i.e. defining stage, designing stage, and developing stage. The validity test result ofconstructivism-based module of very valid criteria is 3.25. The practical test result ofstudents shows that a very practical category is 82.87 %. It can be concluded that aconstructivism-based module for integer material at seventh grade of Public Junior HighSchool 2 North Rao is valid and practical.

Abstract

This research was grounded by the importance of learning materials in thelearning prosess. The materials were commonly taken from text book. As thebooks provided at school were limited, not all of students got them. Inaddition, the tacher rarely linked the materials and the problems solving to thestudents’ real world. To deal with this problem, a realistic-based mathematicshandout for teaching shapes was developed. This research was aimed atfiguring out the validity and practicability of the handout developed. This wasa developmental research wich used 4-D model covering defining, designing,developing and disseminating. The result of the validity test showed that therealistic-based mathematics handout developed was valid (3,12). Further, theresult of the practicability test incated that the handout was also practicalviewed from the techer’s point of view (88,89%) and the students’ point ofview (84,71%). thus, it was cocluded that the realistic-based mathematicshandout developed for teaching shapes had been valid and very practikal.

Abstract

The research has the background, that is because of the students who have lessresponsibility in doing the exercise which is given by the teacher and the student’smathematical concept comprehension is still low. The purpose of this research isto know Does Firing Line Type of Active Strategy influence toward Student’sMathematical Concept Comprehension at the Eight Grade Students of MTsNLubuk Buaya City. The design of this research is the experimental research, withthe research plans are pre test and post test. The instrument used in this researchis the mathematical concept comprehension test, these are pre test and post test.Form tes the used form is breakdown of with validity by teacher. Techniqueanalyse data the used is test t. Pursuant to result of hypothesis test obtained byvalue. Based on the hypothesis test result, it’s gotten the 𝑡𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡 = 26.45 and𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 = 1.68 with 𝛼 = 0.05. Abstract

This research was influenced by understanding of mathematical concepts that were still low, students had not been accustomed to sharing their knowledge with friends and students had not been accustomed to discussing and construct knowledge received. This research purpose was to make sure that students understanding of mathematical concepts and students comprehension of mathematical concepts using active learning strategy type Synergetic Teaching with quiz was better than students understanding of mathematical concepts using conventional learning for grade VIII of SMPN 1 Sutera. The Type of this research was experiment research. The form of the test was an essay by the reliability test is 0.73. This research design was random to the subject. Class VIII.2 experiment class and control class VIII.4 class. Both class were normality distributed and homogen samples at α = 0.05 significance level. Hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0.009 was less than α = 0.05, so it can conclude that the students understanding of mathematical concepts using active learning strategy type Synergetic Teaching with quiz was better than using conventional learning for grade VIII of SMPN 1 Sutera.

Abstract

The students are difficult to understand about the materials of circle area, circle circumference, segment area, central angle and circumference angle material on the textbook and computer based learning media math. The textbook and computer based learning media have not facilitated the students to do an independent learning and had a realistic-based. The proposed solution of the problem is the development of a realistic-based computer based learning media for circle material. The development aims to know the validity and practice of realistic-based module for set material. The research uses 4-D model that consists of 4 stages, i.e. defining stage or need analysis, designing stage, developing stage, and disseminating stage. However, the research is only conducted until the third stage i.e. developing. The developing stage is conducted only to see the validity and practice of the computer based learning media. Data analysis is conducted descriptively with the validity result i.e. very valid in which reaching the criteria 4,5 and practice result i.e. very practice in which reaching the criteria 90%. It means that the Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Komputer Bentuk Tutorial dengan Pendekatan Realistik untuk Materi Lingkaran di Kelas VIII MTsN Model Padang is valid and practical.

Abstract

The background of the research is the student’s difficulty in solving theproblem related to the daily life and lack of learning sources that are able to facilitatethe students to study independently. Therefore, to solve the problem, a problem-basedmodule for the material of the system of two-variable linear equation is developed.The research aims to develop a valid and practical problem-based module at MTsNTalaok Bayang. The validity result shows that the problem-based module developed isvery valid, i.e. 4.23 for the average and based on the practical questionnaire resultgiven to teachers and students are obtained a very practical category module in whichthe percentage is 90,90 % of the teacher and 90.30% of the students. Based on theresults, it can be concluded that the problem-based module for the material of thesystem of two-variable linear equation system in math learning to VIII grade studentsof MTsN Talaok Bayang is valid and practical.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low .This study aims to determine whether to apply the techniques of cooperative learning model two guest staying two influential on students understanding of the concept of class VIII2 SMPN 31 Padang. This research is an experimental study with One Shoot Case Study. Subjects in this study is a class VIII2 SMPN 31 Padang . from the research that has been done shows the average students final test score (76.21) was higher than the average math score of students (52.25). The instrument used in this study is a test of understanding mathematical concepts. The form used is the essay test. The results of hypothesis testing with 2.43 test is less than α = 0.05, then the hypothesis is empirically accepted. So, it can be concluded that students understanding of mathematical concept cooperative learning model two guests staying two influential of mathematical concepts class VIII2 SMPN 31 Padang.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the students’ understanding on mathematicsconcepts and their lack of interest in learning. This research was intended toreveal (1) the development of the students’ mathematics conceptual understandingby applying team quiz active learning strategy, (2) whether the use of team quizactive learning strategy affected the students’ mathematics conceptualunderstanding. This was a pre-experimental research which used one shut casestudy design. The population of the research was the second year student atSMPN 23 Padang who were distributed into 7 classes. Of the population, thestudents in class VIII.2 were chosen as the sample. The data was collected byadministering a quiz and a post-test. The result of the post-test was analyzed bytaking into account the students’ average score after the treatment given andcomparing it to the standard score which was 40. Based on the result of dataanalysis, it was figured out that the students’ mathematics conceptualunderstanding in the experimental class was 76,58 which was higher than thestandard score. Further, the number of the students who had achieved theMinimum Stadard Score improved from 0% into 68%. Thus, it was concluded thatthe use of team quiz active learning strategy affected the second year students’mathematics conceptual understanding at SMPN 23 Padang.

Abstract

Teaching materials is an important part of learning because it can be used as alearning resource for teachers and students. Teaching materials which areexpected to be able to guide students to learn independently, easy to understandstudents, communicative language with students and improve students problemsolving abilities. Existing textbooks have not been able to guide students to aconcept and solve mathematical problems. Therefore, developed teachingmaterials in the form of students worksheet based on discovery learning ofpythagorean theorem materials. Type of research is the development of the 4-Dmodel. Based on the results of testing the validity of the students worksheet-basedvalidator problem by showing that a students worksheet based on the criteria validissue, namely 4,00. Practicalities of test results by teachers and students indicatethat the lkse is based on the category of very practical problems, namely 90,25%for students while 85% for teachers.

Abstract

This research is based on the students comprehension of mathematical concepts are still low. This is seen in the results of student learning classes VII MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang in Academic Year 2014/2015. This study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies Class Concern types with better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class VII MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang. This was an experimental research which used research design Static Group Comparison. Sampling technique was done by purposive sampling, class VII-4 as experimental class and VII-3 as control class . The instrument of the research was a test of understanding mathematical concept. The test used is in the form of essay test with a reliability test was 0,749. The data gathered in this research was analyzed by using t test assisted. Results were obtained the result of the hypothesis test, it was known that P-value was 0,042 on the significance level 0.05 in which P-value < α. This result indicated that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Trading Places active learning strategy better than that of students taught by using conventional strategy was accepted.
