Abstract

ABSTRACT The source that is used by student in science learning proses is student’s worksheet (LKS). Student’s worksheet that available in SMPN 29 Padang is made or designed by MGMP Teacher’s science, which is that student’s worksheet does not have the interest design. The picture yhat is given on worksheet does not have color and less clear. Picture instruction and picture still less clear. The material in science learning at eight grade in SMP about human’s growth and development. Based on this case, this research has purpose to make student’s worksheet (LKS) that have validity and simple picture on the human growth and development material for SMP. This research had done in SMPN 29 Padang at eight grade, on January academic year 2013/2014. This research is development research, about development on student’s worksheet that have 4-dimension picture model which is modified, they are define, design, and development. The data of research is primary data, includes validity and practical that is analyzrd by descriptive analysis is percentage. The student’s worksheet (LKS) has validity value is 80,75%. It means that is acceptted by validator based on didactic, construction, and also technique. It has result practical value around 78,60% from teacher, and 81,98% student that resultis named practical the conclusion that student’s worksheet (LKS) is validity and practical

Abstract

 Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) is a traditional remedy containing xanthone compounds. Xanthones are the active compounds in the mangosteen rind that is as an immunomodulator, so that it can stabilize erythrocytes in the body and can normalize or optimize the work of the immune system so that the components in the blood stable. Xanthone compounds play a role in accelerating the formation of red blood cells in the blood. This study aims to determine the effect of extracts of mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostana L.) against Hematocrit mice (Mus musculus L. Swiss Webster) females. This study is an experimental study using animal mice (Mus musculus L. Swiss Webster) Females as 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments were mangosteen rind extract with dose variations, namely K is the control treatment, without being given the mangosteen peel extract, treatment of P1, P2 and P3 are given treatment mangosteen extract orally for 26 days with doses of 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 mg / head / day. Parameters measured were the percentage of hematocrit values. Data is tested with parametric ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). The results showed that the extract of mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana L.) had no effect on hematocrit values. The percentage of hematocrit value in P1 is 44.98 %, ie 46.30 % P2, P3 are47.89 % and 44.07 % of control. It can be concluded that mangosteen peel extract fed orally for 26 days on a statistical test had no significant effect on hematocrit values but the result showed an increase.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Instructional media can be defined as the means for facilitating the teaching and learning activities. They can be facilities which provides the students with visual experience to motivate them to learn, explain and simplify the abstract complicated concepts into simpler, more concrete  and more understandable ones. They generate the students’ curiosity, motivate and stimulate them to learn. The media used previously, however, had made the students got bored so that they were not interested in paying attention to the teachers explaining the lesson in front of the class. To deal with this problem, comic instructional media for teaching human neural system which  was  intended  to  motivate the  students  to  learn  and  to  improve  their  learning  interest  was developed. This research was aimed at revealing the validity and the practicality of the instructional media. This was a developmental research which used 4-D models that consisted of four developmental stages including defining, designing, developing and disseminating. For the limitation of time and budget, in this research, however, disseminating phase was excluded. The media developed were validated by t wo lecturers and two teachers of SMP Pertiwi Siteba Padang. The practicality of the media was seen from the responses given by two teachers and 25 students in class IX-1 of Junior High School. The result of data analysis indicated that the comic media developed was valid in which the validity value was 78,33%. The validity was viewed from didactic, construction and technical variables. The result of the practicality test from the teachers showed that the comic media was practical in which the practicality value was 78,55%, while the result of the practicality test from the students indicated that the comic media was very practical in which the practicality value was 88,05%. The practicality was viewed from the students’ interests, the pictures displayed in t he media, the process of using the media, material and conceptual understanding, time efficiency and evaluation. Based on these results, it was concluded that the comic instructional media developed for teaching human neural system had been valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACTMedia hatchery of crickets egg require to be paid attention in crickets conducting, because in this media is crickets will be incubated. If the media less good hence ability hatchery it also lessgood so it also with energy of crickets live. In crickets conducting, breeders not yet recognized other medias to incubated crickets egg. The purpose of this research is to know influence of hatch media to ability hatchery and energy live cicada and also to know best hatchery media for the hatchery of crickets egg and  energy live of crickets. This research done in Korong Gadang kecamatan Kuranji, Padang, in January 2014. Method that used in this research was random devicecomplete with 5 treatment that was A: river sand media, B: Coastal sand media, C: hay media, D:dusty’s kitchen media, and E: cotton media. Each repeated until 5 times restart. The materials used in this research was 250 crickets egg item, where each treatment filled by 10 crickets egg. The data got would be analysis by varianse later, then if there a difference will test to continue with level95%. The result of this research indicated that media have an effect of reality (P>0,05) to ability hatch and energy live of crickets. Percentage of ability hatch cricket egg and energy life highest of crickets there were at treatment of river sand media that is equal 66% and hay media to 81%. It ca be concluded from the result of this research that hatch media have an effect on reality to ability hatch and energy live of crickets. Media which suite for process hatch of crickets child that was river sand and hay media.

Abstract

  Biology is one of the subjects of interest by students but there are also students who do not like it. Students who do not like is because learning biology is still centered on teachers and monotonous nature so that students tend to get bored listening to the explanation from the teacher. Attention teachers are also more devoted to the mastery of the material. In addition to the interest, motivation, and learning enthusiasm of students learning low due to less attractive and unattractive teaching materials. Therefore verbal football strategy applied by using handouts in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to improve student learning outcomes by implementing strategies by giving a verbal football handouts.In accordance with the problems and  research objectives, the type of research is experimental research. Experimental research design used in this study is a Randomized Control Group Only Design. The sampling technique used was purposive random sampling, the implementation of the research done in class as class eskperimen VIII.7 class and the class as a class sample VIII.6.The result showed that the experiment class has an average value of 79.69 is higher than the average value of the control class 72.27. After the data were analyzed by t-test, obtained the price ofTcount 2.69 and 1.66 T table. Thus T count > T table which means that H1  is accepted. It can be concluded that the application of verbal football strategy by providing handouts can improve learning outcomes biology eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 South Rao.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Education is a conscious and deliberate effort to create an atmosphere of learning and the learning process so that learners can actively develop her potential. To achieve that all teachers ar e expected to design a lesson plan (RPP) in accordance with the standards of Teacher Performance Assessment Instrument (IPKG). In this case the teachers of biology in the city of Solok generally there are those who do not understand the reference in designing and making lesson plans. In designing the lesson plan there are teachers who take reference from the internet and copying existing RPP without looking at the characteristics of the material that students will be taught appropriate or not so as a result of the learning process is not maximized. The purpose of this study is to investigate the standardization of Lesson Plan (RPP) in SMA Solok. This research is a descriptive study, the sampling technique is the total sampling by collecting RPP State high sc hool biology  teacher  in  Solok  and  analyze  lesson  plans  based  on  a  questionnaire  that  has  been developed by Mulyati ,et al (2013). From this study showed that in terms of the completeness of components obtained an average RPP for completeness existing RPP component is 66.75% and33.25% no. Based on the analysis results, we can conclude that the RPP in Solok Standard Self categorized by the percentage of 68.89%

Abstract

ABSTRACT The essential of learning is a process of communication between teacher-students and also students to students.  In  addition,  the  inappropriate  of  using  teaching  strategy  will  make  students  bored  in accepting the material so it will be difficult for students to understand and finally their mark is low. The low result of students can be influenced by two factors such as external and internal of students self. The dominant factor come from students interested in learning. One of the way to solve the problem is implementation active strategy type the firing line. The aim of this research is to know the effect of active learning strategy type the firing line in biology learning class VIII SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten West Pasaman. The type of this research is experimental research with randomized control group posttest only design. The population of this research is student class VIII the first semester  SMPN  1  Ranah  Batahan  academic  year  2013/2014  which  consist  of  three  class.  The technique of sampling is used purposive sampling, as VIII4  experimental class and VIII2 as control class. The instrument use objective test as 24 score. The analysis of data is done by t-test, with criterion tcalculate  > ttable. Based on the analysis, the range of experimental class is 74,1 with branching off standard 11,9, meanwhile the range of control class is 58,8 with branching off standard 9,4. In analysis of t-test, it can be gotten tcalculate (4,87) > ttable (2,08) so it can be concluded that, the learning process with active learning strategy type the firing line increase result of biology of student class VIII SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Insects are animals that live in any places which is live in the sea , on land and in the air . One of them is live around the plants , insects act as pollinators , decomposers and also as a pest , an insect has very important meaning in human life , as insects visiting flowers to take liquid food such as sweet . Based on the fact above, the composition of the research has been done in the night insects which visiting the plants in dragon fruit in Kenagarian IV Koto Hilie Kecamatan Batang Kapas Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.This study is used a descriptive survey method is by direct collection of insects evening of the research sites with Light Trap. Sampling is done on two stations : Station I in dragon fruit plants by using 2 traps , and there disemak station II by using the I trap .The composition  of night insects  found in the garden area in  the  red dragon fruit in Kenagarian IV Koto Hilie Kecamatan Batang Kapas kabupaten Pesisir Selatan consists of 6 Ordo , 6 , 11 Family nd 13 Genus . The highest relative of density is Symphomyia genus that is ( 41.28 % ) and the lowest relative density is the Aedes  genus ( 0.92 % ) .

ABSTRACT This research is background by the low of outcomes student in biology class VIII of SMPN 24 Padang and haver minimal competencess of criterion (KKM) yet. The out comes of student are lowered by the teacher make of interesting teaching methods yet. This research intend how the influence of the aplication methods learning role playing for the study outcomes of students is biology at class VIII of SMPN 24 Padang. This kind of research is an eksperimental which using of the Randomized Control Group postest only design, the populations are all of student at class VIII of SMPN 24 Padang  in periode of 2013/2014. The sampling by purposive sampling technical a sample he found by class VIIIB as eksperimental class and class VIIIC as control class. The instrument are make is written test in objective question. The data of analysis technical used uji –t by level α 0,05. The outcomes of data analysis  is found a price t hitung 5,36, while t table 1,67. This is t arithmatic > t table. Therefore hiphotesis is accepted that the application of  methods learning role playing for the study outcomes of student at class VIII of SMPN 24 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Dragonflies (Odonata) is a species insect that have numbered middle until large and attractive colour. Type of dragonflies Orthetrum sabina have much and found in Java island, and they as predator insect. The goals of this research is would like to know the  population of Orthetrum sabina (Odonata; Libellulidae) in Kanagarian air Bangis, Sungai Beremas district, Pasaman Barat Regency. The research was conducted in Februari 2014. This research is survey descriptive research. Sample of research done for 1 week with condition rice field that flooded and dry land are 3 days in the light months and 3 days in dark month. From the result of population Orthetrum  sabina  in  Kanagarian Air  Bangis  found  that  characteristics  of  Orthetrum  sabina average abdomen length 29-30 mm and body length 50-53 mm have compound eyes green colour with slender abdoment. Totally population of Orthetrum sabina in wet rice field (0,99 indvidu/ m2) higher than dry land rice (0,76 individu/ m2). Meanwhile, average population density in the light month (0,94 individu/ m2) higher than in the dark month (0,77 individu/ m2).
