Abstract

Tourism is a vital sector that can enhance local economies through the development of regional potential. This research aims to analyze the marketing situation of the Koto Sentajo Tourism Village in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. This village is known for its rich cultural and historical heritage, including traditional houses established as early as the 18th century and enduring customary tribal traditions. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings reveal that although Koto Sentajo has strong potential as a cultural and natural tourism destination, current marketing strategies remain suboptimal. Promotional efforts are mostly limited to specific events, with uneven distribution of information due to budget constraints. Community participation and the application of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) principles are essential to sustainable tourism development and increasing visitor interest. This study is expected to serve as an evaluation tool and provide insights for destination managers and local governments to strengthen tourism village marketing strategies. Abstract

Government procurement of goods and services remains one of the sectors most prone to corruption nationwide, despite continuous updates and adjustments to procurement policies in response to the development of digitalization. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation process of Presidential Regulation No. 12 of 2021 and the challenges encountered in the procurement of goods and services by the Procurement Bureau of Riau Province. The analysis in this study refers to Charles O. Jones’ theory of implementation, which includes three key indicators: organization, interpretation, and application. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using interview and documentation techniques for data collection. The findings reveal several issues, including the limited capacity of human resources within the Procurement Bureau of Riau Province, inadequate understanding of procurement processes among personnel, and resistance to regulatory changes among procurement stakeholders. Furthermore, the absence of updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to procurement has hindered the synchronization between current regulations and practical implementation. To optimize the implementation of this policy, it is essential to strengthen the capacity of government officials, improve technological infrastructure, enhance coordination among stakeholders, and simplify the bureaucratic implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 12/2021. Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of violence against children in Kuantan Singingi Regency which has been increasing every year. The DP2KBP3A is responsible for preventing violence against children in the Kuantan Singingi Regency area. The number of cases increased from 12 cases in 2022, an increase of 15.38% to 15 cases in 2023, and in 2024 increased by 166.67% to 40 cases. With the phenomenon of increasing cases of violence against children, government action is needed to prevent acts of violence against children. This research aims to describe the implementation of the duties of DP2KBP3A in accordance with the Regulation of the Regent of Kuantan Singingi Number 72 of 2021. This research uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive research type. This research uses primary data obtained from research informants and is supported by secondary data obtained from official government documents and scientific publications. The data collection techniques in this research use interview and documentation techniques. The research findings indicate that the implementation of tasks by DP2KBP3A in the formulation and execution of technical policies, supervision, evaluation, and reporting can be considered optimal. However, the execution of tasks in coordination, facilitation, and guidance cannot yet be considered optimal. This is due to the fact that coordination conducted by DP2KBP3A with village governments, schools, and horizontal institutions is still limited. The guidance provided can be said to be suboptimal, primarily due to the lack of training received by employees regarding violence against children. The facilitation offered is still not optimal, as there is a lack of supporting facilities provided by DP2KBP3A to prevent violence against children. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of collaborative governance in managing people with mental disorders after rehabilitation at Tampan Mental Hospital, Pekanbaru City, in 2023. A qualitative descriptive method was applied, with data collected through interviews and documentation. The study focuses on the roles and interactions between Tampan Mental Hospital and the Riau Provincial Social Service, using Ansell and Gash’s collaborative governance process theory, which includes five indicators: face-to-face dialogue, trust building, commitment to process, shared understanding, and intermediate outcomes. The findings indicate that collaboration between the two institutions has not been optimal due to unclear delegation of responsibility, lack of structured coordination, and limited post-rehabilitation support. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of brand image and brand trust on brand loyalty among Telkomsel users, specifically undergraduate students at the University of Riau. The research background is based on the intense competition within Indonesia’s telecommunications industry, where despite Telkomsel’s market leadership, its relatively high pricing has led some customers to switch to competitors. This research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive and verificative approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination with SPSS 26. The results reveal that (1) brand image has a positive and significant effect on brand loyalty, (2) brand trust has a positive and significant effect on brand loyalty, and (3) brand image and brand trust simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on brand loyalty. These findings indicate that a strong brand image and high brand trust can enhance customer loyalty. Keywords: Brand Image, Brand Trust, Brand Loyalty, Telkomsel, Students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze visitors' perceptions of the tourism products offered at Aek Sijorni Tourist Attraction and to identify which components are considered the most appealing and dominant by tourists. The research was motivated by the growing number of visitors after the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been accompanied by complaints regarding the quality of facilities, services, and overall visitor experience. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, using purposive sampling with 100 respondents who met specific criteria. Data were collected through field observations, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The findings indicate that, in general, visitors responded positively to the tourism products, particularly in terms of natural attractions. However, some deficiencies were noted in supporting aspects such as amenities and accessibility, including limited parking space and the lack of recreational facilities. The most prominent attraction, as perceived by visitors, is the multi-tiered waterfall with clear water, surrounded by a lush and serene natural environment. Therefore, it is recommended that management enhance infrastructure and service quality to improve visitor satisfaction and ensure a sustainable tourism experience. Abstract

Racial discrimination is a long-standing issue plaguing the English football industry. Various prevention efforts and enforcement measures have been implemented by football federations, clubs, and the government. This phenomenon encompasses various forms of discriminatory behavior, from racial taunts in stadiums to hate speech spread on social media. This study aims to analyze the patterns, causes, and impacts of racial discrimination on players, coaches, and the dynamics of English football competitions. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, data was collected through literature reviews, federation annual reports, and documentation. The results show that racial discrimination in English football is influenced by historical factors, fan culture, and media use. The resulting impact not only affects the mental health and performance of players but also damages the image of English football and, indeed, England as a nation. Abstract

This thesis analyzes the "Interests of the United States in Assisting Ukraine in its Conflict with Russia in 2022-2023." The full-scale invasion carried out by Russia on February 24, 2022, against Ukraine caused Ukraine to struggle in defending its country. In this context, the United States implemented foreign policy to provide assistance and support to Ukraine through economic aid and military equipment, as well as imposing economic sanctions on Russia aimed at weakening Russia’s ability to wage war. The United States' support became the largest compared to other countries. This thesis is written using the Power Balance theory by Hans Joachim Morgenthau. The methodology used in this thesis is qualitative, with data collection techniques based on document analysis. The results of this paper indicate that the United States' provision of substantial assistance to Ukraine is an effort to counterbalance Russia’s influence and maintain the power balance in Eastern Europe. Abstract

The working visit of the Riau Provincial House of Representatives (DPRD) to the United States is part of parliamentary diplomacy aimed at improving the capacity of council members in the field of human resource development (HR). Through this activity, the Riau DPRD seeks to gain experience and learn from the practices of education governance and economic development policies in developed countries. The visit is a strategy to expand international cooperation networks and support regional competitiveness in the era of globalization. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews and documentation of archives, news, and official reports. The analysis uses liberalism theory, state level analysis, and parliamentary diplomacy theory to explain the role of the DPRD as a regional diplomacy actor. This approach allows researchers to understand the dynamics of DPRD working visits in the context of international relations and regional development in depth. The results show that the Riau DPRD working visits have strategic value as a means of knowledge transfer and policy exchange between institutions. However, the implementation of these activities has not been fully effective due to weak evaluation mechanisms and follow-up on the results of the visits. A better reporting and transparency system is needed so that overseas visits can produce real policies in improving the quality of human resources in Riau Province. Abstract

Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by a novel coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2. It was first identified in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, in December 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the continuity of operations for multinational corporations, particularly those heavily reliant on global supply chains and manufacturing in China. This study examines the case of Apple Inc., where the pandemic has profoundly affected its supply chain, which depends largely on manufacturing hubs in China, especially key partner factories such as Foxconn and Pegatron. Lockdown policies and mobility restrictions led to decreased production capacity, component shortages, shipment delays, and disruptions in the distribution of products to global markets. The health-related restrictions compelled Apple to adapt its operations by strengthening supplier diversification and expanding its manufacturing base to other countries to mitigate the risks of production concentration in a single location. Dunning’s eclectic theory provides a crucial framework for understanding Apple Inc.’s supply chain management strategy during the pandemic. The theory comprises three main components. First, ownership advantage, which refers to the proprietary assets a firm possesses, such as technology, brand, and innovation, that confer unique competitive advantages. Second, location advantage, which encompasses benefits derived from the production site, including robust infrastructure, low-cost skilled labor, and reduced operational expenses. Third, internalization advantage, which involves the firm's benefits from directly managing production processes rather than outsourcing, thereby maintaining greater control and efficiency. This theory elucidates how Apple systematically and structurally managed to sustain its operations and innovate amid a global crisis. Keywords: Apple Inc, Economy, Covid-19 Pandemic, Supply Chain.
