Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determined the effectiveness of health education with individual aproach about knowledge of diet toward patient with hypertension. The design of this research was “Quasy experiment” The research conducted at puskesmas harapan raya Pekanbaru. This research used 30 Samples,  taken with purposive sampling technique. Wilcoxon signed rank test and mann whitney test was used to analysed the data. The result shoned that health education effect the knowledge of eating pattern in hypertension patient ( p value 0,000) < α(0,05). This research recommend to all health personel to give health education  with individual approach method to increase of knowledge toward patient with hypertension about diet to reduce other complication due to hypertension. Abstract

The aimed of this research was to determine the morbidity of Low Birth Weight (LBW) infants in Perinatology unit at Arifin Achmad General Hospital. This study used a descriptive design with retrospective study approach. The samples in this research were 509 medical records of LBW infants taken by purposive sampling method. Univariate analyse was used and it showed that majority of LBW (84.9%) had low birth weight category (1501-2500 gram), 70.7% had a gestational age less than 38 weeks, and mean value of length of stay were 15.81 days for infants with complex morbidity. The result showed that majority of LBW infants had a complex morbidity (74.1%). According to this result, it is recommended for giving health promotion about antenatal care to pregnant women and also preparing the equipment and health provider to completely handle the cases of morbidity in LBW infants.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify the correlation between using of backpack and incidence of low back pain in University of Riau’s student. The design was descriptive correlational research with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was cluster sampling with 100 respondents which was selected based on inclusion criteria. This research used questionnaire for variable of using backpack and observation sheet for incidence of low back pain. The univariate analysis was done by using distributions of frequencies and bivariate analysis was done by using chi-square test. The result showed, there was the correlation between appropriate backpack, balance, carry less and duration of using backpack with the incidence of low back pain (p value 0,003;0,000;0,000;0,000) and there was no correlation between medical history and incident of low back pain (p value 0,102). According to this research,  it is necessary for University of Riau’s student to select appropriate backpack, balance, carry less to reduce the  incidence of low back pain. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the differences of functional status between stroke patients which coming and exiting in care unit at Arifin Achmad general hospital Pekanbaru. The design of this research was Analitic Descriptive with comparative study technique. In this study, researcher used consecutive sampling method with total number of respondents was 30. The instrument in this research was barthel index which consist of 10 items of  assesment related capability in self care activities and mobilization. The data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The results showed the functional status of stroke patients which come to unit care had very severe disabality (50%) and functional status of stroke patients which exit from unit care had very severe disability (43.3%). Based on the marginal homogenity test, it can concluded that there was a differences of functional status between stroke patients which coming and exiting in care unit at Arifin Achmad general hospital Pekanbaru with p value 0.025 (p value < α). It is necessary for nurse to increase there knowledge about functional status of stroke so the quality of health services and can be given optimally.   Keyword               : Functional status, stroke.

Abstract

The aim of this research was identify the correlation between implementation of character education with social behavior of students. The design of the study was correlation research with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling with 94 students who attend school in Vocational High School Pekanbaru State 2 were selected based on inclusion criteria. Instrument used the study was a questionnaire consisted of 20 question to asses implementation of character education and 26 question to asses social behavior of students which was valid and reliable. Data analyses used in the study were univariate analysis to know distribution of frequency and bivariate analyses by using chi square. The result showed that p value (0,054) < alpha (0,10). It meant that there was a correlation between implementation of character education with social behavior of students. Educational institutions are expected to be able to optimize the implementation of character education efforts in schools to increase student achievement and to minimize deviant behavior of students. Abstract

Motivation can be defined as a process that could show human’s behavior to get an achievement from inside and outside themselves. The purpose of this research was to determine the related factors such as existence, relatedness, and growth with nursing student’s motivation to continue Nursing Profession Program. This research used a cross sectional method. The samples are chosen by total sampling method with total number of respondent 67 students. The instrument in this research was a questionnaire that had been tested of validity and reliability. The results showed that majority students are 22 years old (58,2%), students that have high motivation are 71,6%, and the students that have low motivation are 28,4%. The results of this research indicate existence factor and relatedness factors that have a significant relationship with motivation to continue the Nursing Profession Program (p value &lt; α), they are existence (p value = 0,043) and relatedness (p value = 0.030). Meanwhile, the growth factor (p value = 0,445) there is no correlation with the nursing students motivation to continue the Nursing Profession Program. Based on these results, researchers suggest to Nursing Education Institutions that students go into the field before practice were given a debriefing form that is not only material, but also held a program that can increase student motivation to continue Nursing Profession Program. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe spirituality in social residence Khusnul Khotimah. This research uses a simple descriptive method. The number of samples in this research were 39 elderly people in social residence Khusnul Khotimah Pekanbaru taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by a questionnaire that consist of 28 questions. Analysis of this research used univariate and frequency distribution. This study use questionnaire spirituality which created by Amir Syam and have the validity tested and reliability. The results showed that 59.0% of elderly have a high spirituality and 41.0% of elderly had low spirituality. Based on the result of this study, it is suggested to the social residence Khusnul Khotimah to provide holistic services to the elderly so that problems that arise in the elderly, especially spirituality can be identified quickly and is expected to prepare health workers, especially rnurses gerontic to provide nursing care related to spirituality, so elderly will be able to maintain their spirituality. Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Mozart music therapy to reduce pain in post surgery patients of lower extremity fracture. This study used quasy experiment with pretest-posttest design with control group approach. Purposive sampling technique with inclusion criteria was used to recruit 30 respondents. The instrument in this study was observational sheet with pain scale with 1-10 score. The data were analyzed by using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The result showed p value 0,000. It meant there was a differences between experimental group and control group.  This result showed that distraction technique which listening Mozart Music therapy was effective to reduce pain. Based on this result, it is recommended to health provider especially nurses to use Mozart Music therapy as one of non pharmacological therapy to reduce pain. Keywords : Fracture, Mozart music, pain

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analize the effectiveness of the combination of spinach and tomatoes juice therapy towards elevated levels of hemoglobin for pregnant women with anemia. The research used quasy experiment design with non-equivalent control group which is divided into experimental group and control group. The research was conducted on pregnant women in the “Puskesmas Sail Pekanbaru”. The sample of this research is taken by using purposive techniques sampling which is  selected based on inclusion criteria. The instrument of this research used Easy Touch digital levels of hemoglobin gauges. Data then analyzed into univariate and bivariate with use independent and dependent sample t test. The results showed that therapy combination of  spinach and tomatoes juice is effective towards elevated levels of hemoglobin  for pregnant women in anemia with p value (0,013) <  α (0,05). The results of this research  recommend every health care to give education and promotion about complementary therapy for pregnant woment especially combination therapy of  spinach and tomatoes juice. Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify the correlation between husband support, mother’s age, and gravida with the incidence of emesis gravidarum in Puskesmas Harapan Raya Pekanbaru. The research used correlation descriptive method with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique explored purposive sampling with 38 respondents which were selected based on inclusion criteria. Data collection tool in this research was a questionnaire which have been tested for it’s validity and reliability. The data were analyzed by using Chi Square test. The results showed that the percentage of respondents with emesis gravidarum who had lower of husband support was 88,9%, mother age <20 and >35 years was 90,0%, and primigravida was 86,4%. It can be concluded that there were no relationship between husband support (p value < 0,05), and gravida (p value = 0,03) with the incidence of emesis gravidarum and there was no relationship between mother’s age (p value = 0,23) with the incidence of emesis gravidarum. Based on the result of this study, it recommended to health provider for giving more health promotion about antenatal period that involved the husband in antenatal class in order to support their wife.
