Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of the provision of solid waste PKS and manure and to get the best treatment on the growth of immature oil palm trees. This research has been conductedat the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from March to June 2016. This research arranged experimentaly by using Block Randomized Design (BRD) consisting of 2. The first factor is the aplication of solid waste PKS comprising: a dose of solid waste PKS 0 kg / plants, 10 kg / plant, and 15 kg / plant. The second factor is the aplication of phosphorus fertilizer comprising: a dose of fertilizer P 0 kg / plant, 0,5 kg / plant, and 0,6 kg / plant. Of the two factors obtained 9 combination treatment and each treatment was repeated 3 times, so there are 27 experimental units. Data were analyzed statistically and continued using DNMRT at 5% level. Parameters measured were increase of height, increase the number of midrib, the width of the leaf, and the length of the leaf. The result showed that the interaction of solid waste administration PKS and fertilizer P gives no real effect on all parameters except as height. The aplication of solid waste MCC dose of 15 kg / plant and P fertilizer dosage of 0,5 kg / plant is the best treatment to the growth of oil palm plantation immature. Keywords : Palm Oil Plant, Solid Waste MCC, Phosphorus.

Abstract

Sweet corn cultivation has several obstacles, namely reduced cultivated area, limited productive land area, high level of land conversion and low soil fertility. One of the efforts to increase soil fertility is the giving of cow urine and NPK fertilizer because it can improve the physical, biology and soil chemistryproperties. This study aims to determine the effect of cow urine and NPK fertilizer combination and get the best dose of growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharataSturt). This experiment was conducted experimentally using Factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications, namely cow urine (0.75 ml/plant) and NPK factor (250, 350, and 450 kg/ha). The observed data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with Duncan test at 5%. The results showed that giving of cow urine and NPK fertilizer had a significant effect in increasing the growth and production of sweet corn plant. Giving 75 ml of cow urine/plant and NPK fertilizer 450 kg/ha had the best ability to increase the growth and production of sweet corn.Key words: Sweet corn, cow urine, NPK fertilizer.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was toget the best concentrations of crude extract papain enzyme to the caffeine content of coffee.This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications followed byDuncan’s New Multiple Range Test(DNMRT) test at 5% level. The treatment in this study were P0 (without the addition of crude extract enzyme papain), P1 (Papain enzyme crude extract 1 g/100 g weight of beans), P2 (Papain enzyme crude extract 3 g/100 g weight of beans), P3(Papain enzyme crudeextract 5 g/100 g weight of beans), and P4 (Papain enzyme crude extract 7 g/100 g weight of beans).The results of this study showed that papain enzyme concentration of crude extractwere significantly effected caffeine and moisture level.There was also significant effect of treatments on hedonic test for taste, aroma and color of product. The best treatment in this study was P2 with moisture, ash and caffeine level respectively 5.54%, 4.95%, and 1.02%. But, The sensory evaluation using  hedonic test on flavor, aroma, and color of coffee result the treatmets P4 was liked by panelists. Keywords: Robusta coffee, crude extract papain enzyme, and decaffeinetion process

Abstract

National Park Bukit Tigapuluh is an area with one of the goals stipulation that as the development of tourism.Exploiting this potential is real necessary human resources, capital, appropriate technology and management wise order not to cause a negative environmental impact and socio-cultural area surrounding communities. Utilization of this course should stick to the principles of conservation, education, economy, recreation and community participation.Society has a role in the development of ecotourism and to be seen how far the future benefits the surrounding community. Ecotourism development with the involvement of local communities is relatively easy to implement because the local people have the opportunity to develop the tourist objects in the surrounding areas and provide greater opportunities also in the local community participation in decision-making. The purpose of this study was to identify the potential for ecotourism in the village of RantauLangsat, knowing the perceptions, interests and community participation in the development of community-based ecotourism and strategy to develop community-based ecotourism. Methods of data collection is done by surveys and community-based ecotourism using SWOT method. The results showed that some of the ecotourism potential of natural and cultural tourism ecotourism local communities. some of the development strategy of community-based ecotourism should be applied, namely the incorporation of the potential of nature and culture of RantauLangsat to attract visitors, enhance the capacity of the HR community through the provision of a wide range of technical training, procurement of repair facilities and infrastructure to meet customer satisfaction, training in the management of financial management good for the management of ecotourism in RantauLangsat and Attracting investors to smooth travel management in RantauLangsat.keywords:National Park ,Ecotourism, Community Based, Development

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain the best ratio of wheat flour and cempedak seed flour to produce a good quality white bread. This research was carried out experimentally by using completely randomized design with four treatments and four replications in order to obtain sixteen experiments unit : TC0 (100% wheat flour), TC1 (90% wheat flour and 10% cempedak seed flour), TC2 (85% wheat flour and 15% cempedak seed flour), TC3 (80% wheat flour and 20% cempedak seed flour). Analysis of variance showed that the ratio of cempedak seed flour and wheat flour adding significantly effected on moisture content, ash content, protein content, bread improver, and hedonic sensory. The best treatment of white bread according to chemical analysis and sensory assessment was TC1 (90% wheat flour and 10% cempedak seed flour) treatment which has moisture content 26,60%, ash content 1,64%, protein content 10,27%, and bread improver 252,50%. Keywords: Cempedak seed flour, wheat flour, white bread

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the financial feasibility of rubber plantation Ex UPP TCSDP at Bina Baru Village Kampar Kiri Tengah District Kampar Regency. Bina Baru Village obtain assist Ex UPP TCSDP from Plantantion Office of Riau for 258Ha rubbers plant, 1 Ha of rubber is given to one farmer. The instruments of this research are; analyzing the NPV, Net B/C and IRR and also sensitivity analysis. The used of data is primary data and secondary data. Primary data is price data were obtained from farmers and secondary data is physics data obtained from related agencies. The result shower that analyzing NPV is Rp.63.691.097,62, Net B/C is 2,62 and IRR is 25%. The farmer income in one year is Rp.2.547.643,90. Analyzing of sensitivity of the changes of the production around 25%which slope NPV is 53,83%. The changes of the input around 15% which slope NPV is 17,30%. The changes of the output around 41% which slope NPV is 88,28%. These proofed the rubber plan is still able to do if there is the changes of price and three aspects, because the NPV value still give positive value and Net B/C value >1 and also IRR bigger than discount factor 12%. Keyword: Rubber, Investment Criteria Analysis, Sensitivity Analysis.

Abstract

Bengkuang was rich in nutrition, but so far the utilization of bengkuang was still less. Syrup was a way of product diversification of bengkuang. The purpose of this research was to get the best ratio of  bengkuang extract and pandanus leaf exctract in making syrup based on National Standard of Indonesian. This research used a Completed Randomized Design with five treatments and four replications. The treatments were ratio of bengkuang extract and pandanus leaf extract BP1 (100:0), BP2 (95:5), BP3 (90:10), BP4 (85:15), and BP5 (80:20). The value of observation were analyzed using Analysis of Varians followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test on 5% level. The result of this research showed that ratio of  bengkuang extract and pandanus leaf extract given significantly effect on sucrose concentration, viscosity, colour, smell and overall hedonic assessment, but not significants on visibility and flavour. The best treatment was BP5 (80:20bengkuang extract and pandanus leaf extract) with sucrose concentration 71.63%, viscosity 451.46 cP, colourgreen, visibility not muddy, flavourfull pandanus, taste sweet and overallassesment favored by panelists. Keywords: Syrup, bengkuang extrac, pandanus leaf extract.

Abstract

This research aimed to get the best treatment of combinationoil palm empty fruit bunches(OPEFB)compost with NPK fertilizer for the growth of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)inUltisol medium. This research has been conducted in the Agriculture Experimental Station Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, District of Tampan, the research was carried out for 4 months starting in November 2016 to the month ofFebruary2017.This research arranged experimentaly using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) arranged in non-factorial, which consist of 5 treatment and 4 replication,Every experimental unit consisted of 2 polybags so that entirely 40experimental units. P0: Without fertilizer, P1:OPEFBcompost50 g/10 kg medium + NPK 10 g/10 kg medium. P2:OPEFBcompost50 g/10 kg medium + NPK 20 g/10 kg medium. P3:OPEFBcompost100 g/10 kg medium + NPK 10 g/10 kg medium. P4: OPEFBcompost50 g/10 kg medium + NPK 20 g/10 kg medium. Analysis of variance result showing significant difference, continued with Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%. Based on research result which has been done indicates that giving various doses of combinations OPEFBcompost with NPK fertilizer give an significant effect on all parameters observed. From this research giving best influence at dose OPEFBcompost100 g/10 kg medium + NPK 10 g/10 kg mediumon the increase of seedling height, leaf number, root volume, dry weight of seedlings and shoot roots ratioon oil palm seedlings which aged 6 months in Ultisol medium. Keyword: Oil palm empty fruit bunches(OPEFB) compost, NPK fertilizer,Ultisol medium

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of oil palm empty fruit bunches trichokompos and to get the best dose in the embedding medium on the growth of cocoa. This research has been conducted at the experimental farm, Agriculture Faculty of Riau University. This research was conducted during the four months from July to October 2016. The research arranged experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatment research was dose consisting of : (12.5 g/polybag, 25 g/polybag, 37.5 g/polybag, 50 g/polybag,). The observed parameters were a plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, leaf area, shoot root ratio and dry weight. The results showed that the oil palm empty fruit bunches trichokompos effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, and the dry weight. Giving trichokompos oil palm empty fruit bunches (37.5 to 50) g/polybag showed better growth on the cacao seeds. Keywords : cacao, trichokompos, oil palm empty fruit bunches.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of LCC Mucuna bracteata in various slope on the development of soil mesofauna and growth of oil palm TBM - III. This research has been conducted in PTPN V Unit Lubuk Dalam, Siak and analysis mesofauna soil in Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study lasted from January to April 2016. The study was conducted by using split plot design. The level of slope (K) as the main plot, which are: K1 = land slope of 0% - 3%, K2 = land slope >3% - 8%, K3 = land slope >8% - 15%. Testing LCC Mucuna bracteata (M) as the subplot, which are: M0 = land planted with oil palm without LCC Mucuna bracteata, M1 = land planted with oil palm LCC Mucuna bracteata. The parameters measured were the number of family, total individual, population density (K), relative density (KR), diversity index (H ') of soil mesofauna, root dry weight, root volume and root occupy. The results showed: (1) land planted with oil palm with LCC Mucuna bracteata has a number of families, total individuals and diversity soil mesofauna higher in than those without LCC Mucuna bracteata both at the level of land slope 0% - 3% >3% - 8% , and >8% - 15%; (2) The higher the slope (%), the total individual and population density (K) soil mesofauna lower; and (3) root dry weight, root volume and root occupy a tendency to increase the area planted with Mucuna bracteata LCC compared to land without LCC Mucuna bracteata. Keywords: Mucuna bracteata, land slope and mesofauna
