Abstract

                                             ABSTRACTPeriphyton is primary producer in the aquatic environment. A research aims to determine the chlorophyll-ɑ concentration contained in the  periphyton that are attached in the submerged PVC substrate has been carried out in April-May 2018 in the Air Hitam River. There were three sampling stations, namely S1 (in the upstream), S2 (in the middle) and S3 (in the downstream). Samplings were conducted once/week for a 3 weeks period. The periphyton samples were brushed from the PVC substrates (8 x 6) cm2. Water quality parameters measured were current speed,temperature, transparency, pH, dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide, nitrate,and phosphate content. Results shown that the chlorophyll-ɑ concentration of the periphytonfrom   S1was 1,380 μg/cm²,in S2 was 1,480 μg/cm² and in the S3  was2,026 μg/cm². The water quality parameters were as follows: water current 0.08-0.46 m/s, transparency 18-29 cm, temperature 29-29.30C, dissolved oxygen 3,43-3,56 mg/L, free carbon dioxide 6.2-8.3 mg/L, nitrate 0.29-0.38 mg/L and  phosphate 0.34-0.54 mg/L.Keywords: water quality, trophic state ,oligotrophic, artificial substrate

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research was to determine the effect of stocking density and feeding rate on growth and survival rate of ingir-ingir larvae. This research was conducted from September-Oktober 2018 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University. The Method used was a Factorial Completely RandomizedDesign with two factors, the first was stocking density with three levels namely 5 larvae/L (S5), 10 larvae/L (S10) and 20 larvae/L (S20). While the second factor wasfeeding rate 40% (F40), 60% (F60) and 80% (F80) of biomass.To minimize errors, each level of treatment was repeated 3 times. The result showed that stocking density and feeding rate were significant on absolute weight, absolute length, average growth rate, survival rate and feed efficiency. The treatment S5F80 (5 larvae/L and feeding rate 80% of biomass weight) were significant(P<0,05) with an absolute weight of 0,67 g, absolute length 3,65 cm, average growth rate of 16,28 %/day, feed eficiency 14,59 % and survival rate 91,33 %. The water quality parameters during research was in optimal range temperature 26,4-27,5°C, pH 5-6and dissolved oxygen 3,6-4,51 mg/l. Keywords : Stocking denstity, Feeding Rate, Growth and Survival rate

Abstract

ABSTRACTCoastal ecosystems are the confluence of land and sea that are still influenced by sea characteristics such as tides, sea breezes and salt intrusion and sedimentation processes.The intertidal zone is part of a coastal ecosystem in which many marine biota live such as the gastropods of the mollusk phylum. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and abundance as well as the distribution pattern of gastropods in the intertidal zone of Kalangan Beach in Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra. This research was conducted in April 2019. From the results of the study it was found that in the intertidal zone of the Kalangan Beach 10 gastropods were found, namely Clypeomorus sp, Littorina sp, Polinices, Clypeomorus bifascita, Nassa francolinus, Morula granulata, Phasianella solida, Clypeomorus batillariaeformis, Cerithiium sp,and Faunus ater. At station I with an abundance of 5 ind / m2 which is relatively low. At station II with an abundance value of 2 ind / m2 classified as very low, and at station III with an abundance value of 43 ind / m2 classified as abundant. The distribution pattern of gastropods in the intertidal zone of Kalangan Beach at each station is clustered. Keywords:gastropods, abundance, distribution pattern

Abstract

                                           AbsrtakThis study aims to analyze the form of distribution channel involved in marketing fresh marine fish at Bangliao Oki, Sinaboi Sub District, Rokan Hilir Regwncy. Calculating marketing margins formed from the marketing of fresh marine fish at Bangliao Oki, Calculating the value of marketing efficiency at each marketing agency involved in the marketing process of fresh marine fish at Bangliao Oki Sinaboi Sub District Rokan Hilir Regency. The population in this study were the owner of Bangliao Oki, the fisherman who landed the fish in Bangliao Oki which amounted to 10 people, Agent which amounted to 2 people, 4 people along-along Traders, and 10 retailer merchants. The method used in this research is survey method by doing observation directly to the field (observation) By interviewing fishermen, Agent, retailer and other market players in Sinaboi Rokan Hilir Regency.The results of this study indicate that the pattern of distribution of fish commodities in Bangliao Oki found 2 (two) marketing channels, The most efficient marketing channel is the Marketing I channel involving Retailers, this is due to the marketing costs incurred and the selling price by smaller retailers rather than along-along. The two marketing channels in this study are efficient marketing, this is because the efficiency value is greater than 1 (one), the most efficient marketing is the marketing of the fish cencaru at the marketing institution along-along with the highest efficiency value that is 4.46 and the marketing with value the lowest efficiency is found in Agent marketing agency that is malong fish with efficiency value 2.08. Keywords:Bangliao Oki, Distribution, Marketing Margin, Marketing Efficiency

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was aimed to obtain the best product ofrebon shrimp(Mysis relicta)  protein isolates by addition of citric acid at different concentrations. The parameters observed were the amount of flour yielded and the proximate chemical composition (the content of moisture, ash, fat and protein). The method used was an experimental and the design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment conducted was addition of citric acid solution at 3 different level concentrations (3.5%, 4%, and 4.5%). The results showed that the best rebon shrimp protein isolates was produced by adding 4.5%citric acid. The protein isolate was containing 4.11%water, 19.82%ash, 2.11%fat and 84.20% protein. Meanwhile, the content of total amino acid was 39.65%, dominated by leucine, glutamic acid and aspartic acid at 9.03%, 5.09%, 4.20%, respectively.Keywords: citric acid, isolate protein, proximate

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research was conducted in May 2019 which is located in West Bagan Village, Bangko District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province.The method used in this study is a survey method with 36 respondents and asimple random sampling technique is used to determine the sample o the research.This research aims to find out the factors that cause poverty and to identify the strategies carried out by fishermen in dealing with poverty.Factors that cause poverty in fishermen are influenced by the Quality of Human Resources, which is low levels of education are indicators of low Quality of Human Resources. This indicator greatly determines a person or group of people who are poor or not poor.In addition, other factors that cause poverty are Simple Fishing Tools, and Fishermen Household Income and Expenditure Levels.The Strategy for fishermen household to survive in facing poverty in the form of efforts made to overcome the problems faced in meeting the food and non-food needs of the household.              Keywords: Poverty, Strategy, Survival, Fishermen

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to find out what is the optimal dose of vitaliquid boosters to increase the growth and survival of Vanname shrimp (Litopaneaus vannamei) with recirculation systems. This research was carried out for 40 days in January-February 2019 held at  Laboratory of Aquaculture Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The design of this research is an experimental model using Completely Randomize Design Factorial pattern (RAL) of 1 factor, 4 treatment levels and 3 replications. The treatment level of this study was P0 (feed without the addition of vitaliquid), P1 (addition of vitaliquid 5 ml / kg of feed), P2 (addition of vitaliquid 10 ml / kg of feed), P3 (addition of vitaliquid 15 ml / kg of feed). The best treatment is the treatment of (P3) additional booster doses of 15 ml / kg of feed resulting in absolute weight growth of 1,96 gr, specific growth rate of 5,61%, and survival of 91,66%. Water quality during the study was temperature ranging from 28-30 oC, pH ranged from 7.4-8, dissolved oxygen (DO) ranged from 4.2 to 4.7 mg / L, and ammonia (NH3) ranged from 0.0058-0, 0117 mg / L.kg feed. Keywords: Vitaliquid boosters, Vanname shrimp, Growth

Abstract

                   AbstractTypes and abundanceof phytoplankton can be used to determined the trophic state of water.To understand the types and abundances of phytoplankton present in the Tuok Tonga Lake, a research has been conducted in June-July 2019. There were three sampling points, namely in the inlet, in the middle of the lake and in the end of the lake. In each sampling point, water was sampled from the surface and 2 Secchi depth. Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/week. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, transparency, depth, dissolved oxygen, CO2, pH, nitrate and phosphate contents. Results shown that there were 43 species of phytoplankton that were belonged to 5 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (10 species), Chlorophyceae (24 species), Cyanophyceae (4 species), Euglenophyceae (4 species) and Cryptophyceae (1 species). The phytoplankton abundance in the Tuok Tonga Lake was 59,462-129,908 cells/L. The most common type of phytoplankton present was Monoraphodium sp. Results shown that the temperature was 29.7-31.7oC, transparency was 61.7-62.7 cm, depth was 125-284 cm, pH was 5, dissolved oxygen was 3.4-5 mg/L, CO2 was 5.3-14.7 mg/L, nitrate was 0.02-0.08 mg/L, phosphate was 0.03-0.15 mg/L and pH was 5. Based on the type and abundance of phytoplankton present, it can be concluded that the Tuok Tonga Lake can be categorized as mesotrophic. Keywords: Kampar River, Oxbow Lake, Mesotrophic, Phytoplankton abundance

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 02 maret – 02 april 2019, yang bertempat di lahan gambut milik warga di jalan petani nenas Desa Kualu Nenas Kecamatan Tambang Kabupaten Kampar Riau dan sampel dibawa ke Laboratorium Mutu Lingkungan Budidaya Fakultas Perikanan Dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Riau. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh biofertilizer formulasi terhadap perubahan parameter kimia tanah dan air pada kolam ikan patin (Pangasius sp) dalam wadah tanah gambut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini metode eksperimen, data yang diperoleh dianalisa secara deskriptif. Perlakuan yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah : P0 = Tanpa pemberian biofertilizer formulasi (kontrol), P1 = Pemberian 700 g biofertilizer formulasi/m2,P2 = Pemberian 750 g biofertilizer formulasi/m2,P3 = Pemberian 800 g biofertilizer formulasi/m2,P4 = Pemberian 850 g biofertilizer formulasi/m2. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian biofertilizer formulasi memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap parameter kimia tanah dan air kolam gambut, nilai tertinggi terdapat pada pemberian biofertilizer formulasi sebanyak 750 g/m2 yang meningkatkan parameter kimia tanah dengan nilai rata-rata, yaitu pH tanah (6,02), KBOT (49,21%), N total (1,34%), P total (1,06%), K total (1,34%) serta nilai terendah untuk nisbah C/N (22,30) dan kimia air, yaitu pH air (6,70), nitrat (2,65 ppm), dan ortofosfat (3,33 ppm) sedangkan hasil pertambahan bobot mutlak pada ikan patin di P2 adalah 3,31 g, panjang mutlak yang tertinggi terdapat pada P2 yaitu 5,25 cm dan kelulushidupan tertinggi terdapat pada P2 yaitu 98,75%.Kata Kunci : Biofertilizer, Parameter Kimia Tanah Dan Air, Ikan Patin

Abstract

Abstrak   This research was conducted on September-November 2018. The purpose of this study to find out the use of fermented mustard and cabbage wastesflour (FMCWF)in diet on feed digestibility, feed efficiency and growth ofAsian redtail catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus). The method used is using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. The treatment applied in the study is P0 (100: 0%), P1 (95: 5%), P2 (90: 10%), P3 (85: 15%) and P4 (80: 20%). The results showed fermentation of mustard and cabbage wastes flour had an effect on feed efficiency, protein retention, specific growth rate. The best treatment is feed containing 20% fermented mustard and cabbagewaste flour which produces feed digestibility68.55%, protein digestibility 76.32%, feed efficiency 37.71%, protein retention 32.27%, specific growth rate 3.43% and survival rate 96.6%. The results of measurements of water quality during the study, namely temperatures of 26-30oC, pH ranged from 6-8, DO 4.2-4.5 mg/L and ammonia 0.001 ppm. Keywords : Fermentation, (Hemibagrus nemurus), Mustard and Cabbage waste
