Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted in February - March 2020 in Teluk Nibung sub district, Tanjug Balai city, North Sumatera Province. The location of this research was chosen deliberately (purposive). Based on the results of research conducted on social capital of the fishermencommunity in Teluk Nibung sub district, Tanjug Balai city, North Sumatera Province, then the form of trust that forms the social capital of the fishermen community consists of elements of the element of trust itself which among other things is honesty that is they are open about operational costs when at sea, fairness that is the existence of strict rules and strict sanctions, egalitarian attitudes that are not there is a distinction between fishermencommunities, tolerance that is mutual respect for the opinions of fellow fishermencommunities, generosity that is willingness to help fellow fishermen communities who experience disaster. How to maintain an honest attitude and positive thinking, no jealousy and vengeance, dare to be responsible for the mistakes made, and also sincere in helping others.Keywords: Social Capital,Social Capital, Fishermen Communities

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to determine the effect of pH against hydrolysis of fish protein from mudskipper (Periophthalmus minitus) using alcalase enzyme and to determine the best pH of mudskipper protein hydrolysis. The used method was an experimental method with A non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 3 levels of treatment namely P1(pH 6.5), P2(pH 7.5) and P3 (pH 8.5). The observed parameters were the analysis of protein and moisture on mudskipper flour, the yield of mudskipper flour,the analysis of non-protein nitrogen and protein using lowry method on mudskipper protein hydrolysate. The results showed that the chemical analysis of mudskipper flour obtained 8.85% moisture, 86.56% protein, and the yield of 74.6%. The P1treatment (pH 6.5) obtained the non-protein nitrogen of 8.24% and 9.81% protein. The P2treatment (pH 7.5) obtained the non-protein nitrogen of 11.02% and 8.58% protein. Furthermore, the P3treatment (pH 8.5) obtained the non-protein nitrogen 10.43% and 9.91% protein. Kata kunci: Enzyme alcalase, hydrolysis of fish, mudskipper

Abstract

 ABSTRACKThis research was conducted in April 2018, in Malang Rapat Village of Gunung Kijang District, Bintan Regency, Riau Island Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of species of catch and productivity of kelong fishing gear during the study. As well as to find out how feasibility of kelong fisheries business in Malang Rapat Village. The method used is survey.The composition of the catch of kelong is anchovy, squid, and tamban fish. The highest productivity occurs in kelong 2 on day 3 of 0,173 kg/minute and the lowest occurs in kelong 3 on day 8 0f 0,04 kg/minute.  In running a fishing business using kelong fishing gear the cost incurred are quite large, which is Rp. 158.900.000,-. For initial capital and fishing business using kelong is still considered profitable because it has been analyzed using BCR, FRR, and PPC with a capital return of 2,3 years where the economic life of the fishing gear is 5 years. Keyword : Productivity, Composition, Business Feasibility, Kelong Fishing Gear

Abstract

AbstracIn the Marunggai River there is a restricted area and it is known as “lubuk larangan”, as it is a habitat of Tor tambroides, a rare endemic fish species. A research aims to find out a proper method to manage the Marunggai River restricted area in order to safe the T. tambroides population was conducted in ApriltoAugust 2019. The water was sampled 3 times in the buffer and conservation zones.Water quality parameters in the habitat of T.tambroideswere as follows: temperature23,6 - 25,1 °C, transparency37-110 cm, depth37-110 cm pH 6, DO4,86 - 5,46 mg/L free CO22,75-3,15 mg/Land phytoplankton abundance was201-1.003 sel/L.Keyword: Tor sp,endemic fish, buffer zone, conservation area, Water quality

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to determine the best time administration of papain doses best on commercial clothes to increase the growth of nilem fish seeds (Osteochilus hasselti).in recirculation systems. Culture vessel in the form of aquarium of 60 x 40 x 40 centimeters of 15 aquarium with stocking density of 11 fish/m3. This research was using experimental method by completely random design (RAL) one factor with five treatments and three replicationsThe treatment applied was the feeding of the enzyme containing papain with different dosages: P0= without the addition of the papain enzyme, P1=the addition of the enzyme papain 1,25%/kg of feed, P2=the addition of the enzyme papain 2,25%/kg of feed, P3= the addition of the enzyme papain 3,25%/kg of feed and P4= the addition of the enzyme papain 4,25%/kg of feed. The results showed that the addition of rElGH in feed, showed highly significant effect (P<0.05) on the total weight, total length, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, and no significant effect (p>0.05) to survival rate. The best growth rates was found in treatment P1 with total weight: 5.75±0.02gram, total length: 4.06±0.05 cm, specific growth rate: 4.32±0.02% per day, feed conversion  ratio: 1.23±0.01and survival rate: 100±0.00%.Keywords:Nilem fish, Papain Enzyme

Abstract

AbstractMangrove area in the Nagari Gasan Gadang has been damage due to human activities and the damage negatively affects bivalve living in that area. A research aims to understand species and density of bivalve was conducted in July 2019. There were 3 stations with 3 plots/station and 5 sub plots/plot. In each sub plot the bivalve were collected by hand.  There were 2 bivalve species present, they were classified asCorbiculidae family,Polymesodaerosa and Geloina expansa. The density of bivalve ranged from 11,333 to 18,666 organisms/ha and mangrove density ranged from 800 to 1,533 trees/ha. The water qualitywere as follows: temperature 28-30o C, pH 7-8, salinity 17-22 ‰, and dissolved oxygen 1.2-3.6 mg/L, while the soil’s pH was 6-8.In the substrate, organic material ranged from 24.5 to 51.6%  and the type of substrate was sandy mud.Keyword: Corbiculidae,Polymesoda erosa,Geloina expansa, Sandy mud, Water quality

Abstract

 ABSTRACT             The Humpback Grouper is one of the commercial marine fish that has been cultivated both for purpose of hatchery and enlargement, so that quality feed is needed for better growth. Thid research was carried on June 15- July 27, 2019 at UPTD BPBALP  Teluk Buo Kec.  Bungus, Padang City, West Sumatera Province.Providing feeding made with protein sources derived from fish head flour aims to increase the growth of the humpback grouper fish with cheaper raw materials. The method used in this research is experimental method using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications so that it required 9 experimental units with 3 different fish head flour compositions, that is A = 26,58%, B = 31,61%, C = 36,64%. The main parameters measured include absolute length, absolute weight, specific growth rate, and survival rate of fish. While water quality parameters include temperature, pH, salinity, and dissolved oxygen. Measurement data were analyzed using Analisys of Variance (ANOVA) with α <0.05. Then proceed with the Newman Keulstest to find out where is the significance of the data and treatments that obtain optimal growth. The provision of artificial feed with different protein compositions significantly affected the growth and survival of the humpback grouper fish. Increased optimal growth was obtained in treatment C with 36,64% protein composition. Keywords: The Humpback Grouper, Fish Head Flour, Growth, Survival Rate

Abstract

ABSTRACTMangrove ecosistem in Kampung Madong is inhabited by numerous aquatic organism, including fish. This study aims to determine the types of fish caught in themangrove ecosystem of KampungMadong. This research was conducted in March-April 2019. The method used in the research was survei method on three sampling area observation with four sampling in a month. The analyzed include morphology, morphometrics and meristik of fishes.Water quality parameters measurd were temperature was 29,5-30,5oC, pH was 7,4-7,5, salinity was 32,5-34,5o/oo and dissolved oxygen was 62-6,4mg/L. The identification of fish samples using the Saanin identification book (1968), White et al. (2013) and Sulistionoet al. (2015). The result shows that there were 171 fishconsisting of4 ordo, 10 families,11 genus and 13 species of fish,they were: Cephalopholisminiata, Anyperodonleucogrammicus, Schatophagusargus, Siganusvirgatus, Siganusguttatus, Carangoidesmalabaricus, Eubleekeriasplendens, Sphaeramia orbicularis, Anadontostomachacunda,Sardinellafimbriata, Paraplotosusalbilaris, GerresfilamentosusandValamugilspeigleri. Keywords : Morphology, Morphometrics, Meristik, Water quality

Abstract

ABSTRACTGiving the rGH hormone, thyroxine hormone (T4) and its combination through the immersion method in NaCl 0,9 %. The research was done on January - March 2020 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Aquaculture major, Faculty of Fisheries, Riau University. This research aims to determine the effect of giving rGH hormone, thyroxine hormone (T4) and their combinations, to the growth and the survival rate of gourami larvae. The method this research was used on experimentwith one-factor randomized design with four treatments and three replications. The treatments used are : P1 = Control, P2 = rGH 7 mg/L, P3 = T4 0.75 m/L, P4 = combination of rGH 7 mg/L and rGH 7 mg/L. Based on the research, the best treatment was on P4 (the combination of rGH 7 mg/L dose and thyroxine 0.75 mg/L dose) with results absolute weight growth: 1.34 g, absolute length growth: 3.8 cm, specific growth rate: 12, 3% and survival rate of fish : 98%. The quality of the water during this research was intemperature 26.1-27.4 C, pH 6.6-7.3 and dissolved oxygen 4.3-6.5 mg/L, it still supports the optimal fish growth for gouramy larvae. Keywords: rGH, Thyrokxine, Combination,Osphronemus gouramyLac.

Abstract

Abstract          In the Rawa Mekar Jaya Village, there is a mangrove conservation area. Anthropogenic activities conducted around that area, however, damage the mangrove in general and thus negatively affects gastropod living in that area. A research aims to identify gastropod species in that area was conducted in July 2019. A research was conducted with direct observation techiques at the study area. There were 3 stations and each station consists of 3 plots. In each plot there were 3 subplots (1x1 m). Gastropods were collected manually from each sub plot, everyday for a 2 weeks period. There were 5 gastropod species present, namely Cerithidea obtusa, Telescopium telescopium, Nerita violacea, Ellobium aurismidae, Chicoreus capucinus. The water quality were as follows: temperature (28-290C); pH 6; salinity (140/00); dissolved oxygen (4,1-5,0 mg/L), and sandy mud substrate.  Keywords :  Cerithidea sp, Rhizophora appiculata, mangrove forest
