Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research was conducted in October to December 2019 in the Hatchery at  Fisheries and Marine Faculty, University of Riau. The aims of this researchwas todetermine the growth and survival rate of Osphronemus gouramy fed phytase enzym with different amounts. Theresearch used a size aquarium 40 x 40 x 40 cm3 with a water height 15 cm for 15 units. The feed used in the form of Phytase Enzym, given with dose of 0,5 g/kg feed, 0,75 g/kg feed, 1 g/kg feed and 1,25 g/kg feed respectively. The method used in this researchwas the experimental method of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using one factor with 5 treatments  and3 replications.The best result is  P3feeding with  dose 1 g/kg feed can produce absolute growth weight 4,48 gram, absolute growth length 1,67 cm, growth of specific length 2,08%, feed efficiency 25,46% and survival rate 82.22%. Water quality recorded during the research was obtained, temperature 26,3-28,3 0C, pH 7,6-7.9 DO 6,4-6,6 mg/L and Ammonia 0,112-0,128 mg/L.These result of researchof Osphronemus gouramy addedphytase enzym with different amounts gives a significant effect on the growth rate and survival. Keywords: Osphronemus gourami, Phytase Enzym, Growth and survival rate,

Abstract

 ABSTRACT          This research was conducted from February to April 2019, for 45 days in Breeding Laboratory Unit of Fisheries Faculty and Marine Sciences,University of Riau Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research was to determine the optimal amount of stocking density in the maintenance of baung fish that was maintained with an aquaponic recirculation system and the addition of probiotics to the feed. The method used in this research was an experimental method with a one-factor completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatment levels and 3 replications, so that 15 experimental units were needed.The stocking density of baung used in this research is as follows: P1) 400 head/m3; P2) 500 head/m3; P3) 600 head/m3; P4) 700 head/m3; P5) 800 head/m3. The best treatment was obtained from P3, with a stocking density of 600 head/m3with absolute weight value of 6.18 g, absolute length of 4.89 cm, specific growth rate of 3.47, feed efficiency 98.91% and survival rate 93.06% . Water quality during the research was temperature 26-280C, pH 6.0-7.3, dissolved oxygen 4.3-7.0 mg/L and ammonia 0.01-0.21 mg/L. Keyword: Hemibagrus nemurus, Stocking density, Aquaponic recirculation, Probiotic

Abstract

ABSTRACT Along the river and coastal waters of the Sungai Guntung of Kateman District Indragiri Hilir Regency Riau Province covered with mangroves forreduceswell wind, seawave, and sea water intrusion. There is potential destruction to mangrove in the Sungai Guntung such as industrial activities and use of mangrove stems for building foundation materials. The purpose of this researchis determine the type of mangroves dominate and determine the health of mangroves using hemispherical photgraphy method and line transect plot method. The survey was conducted from July 2019 in the Sungai Guntung of Indragiri Hilir district by determining the station with purposive sampling, station 1around the settlement, station 2 at the estuary far from the settlement, and station 3 around  the industry. The results of this study indicate there are 11 types of mangroves from 5 different families dominated by R. apiculata mangrove species, mangrove health in the Sungai Guntung is still in good condition, station 1 canopy closure 79,56% with density 1.456 trees/ha, station 2 canopy closure 81,92% with density 1.622 trees/ha, and station 3 canopy closure 75,73% with density 1.122trees/ha. Kata kunci : Mangrove,Dominance, Density, Canopy cover, Hemispherichalphotography.

Abstract

AbstractMany activities in the Betung Lake contributed organic matter that affect nitrate and phosphate concentration in water and increasing the abudance of phytoplankton. A research aim to know the relationship between nutrien with phytoplankton abudance in the Betung it was conducted in July-August 2019.There were four sampling stations, namely Station I (trees around the station and floating cage), Station II (oil palm plantations, rubber plantations, tourism and residential areas), Station III (floating cage, rubber plantations and residential areas) and Station IV (tourism and oil palm plantations). In each station, there were two sampling points, in the surface (15 cm) and in 2 Secchi depth (160 cm). Sampling were conducted 4 times, once/week. Water quality parameter measured were nitrate, phosphate, phytoplankton abudance, transparency, temperature, pH, depth, dissolved oxygen and free carbondioxide. The result shown: nitrate 0,0229 - 0,0515  mg/L, phosphate 0,0197 - 0,0431 mg/L, phytoplankton abudance 47.232 - 80.640  Cells/L, dissolved oxygen 3,8 - 6,1  mg/L, free carbondioxide 6,2 - 15,53  mg/L, temperature 28,3 - 29,8 °C, transparency 81,5-84,25 cm,  pH 5 and depth 195-210 cm. The relationship of nitrate and phosphate with phytoplankton abudance was strong. Equation form of relationship between nutrient with phytoplankton abudance Y = 21235,598 + 1308818,706 X1 – 201135,66 X2andr = 0,71 and R = 0,51.Keywords:Batang Nilo River, Floating Cage, Organic Matter, Water Quality, Mesotrophic

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the effect of adding agar-agar flour to the quality of snakehead fishball. The research method used was an experiment in making snakehead fishball with the addition of commercial agar flour in different quantities. The research design was a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 levels of treatment, namely without adding agar-agar flour (T0), adding agar-agar flour 5 g (T1), 7 g (T2), 9 g (T3). The results showed that the addition of agar-agar (commercial) flour affected significantly at 95% trust rate to the quality of snakehead fishballs. The best treatment is agar-agar flour 9 g in producing quality characteristics of fishball. Fishball has a bright white color; has a distinctive aroma and taste of fish and agar-agar; and chewy texture, cut into two parts (half circle), 69.82% moisture, 0.48% ash, 33.60% protein, 0.15% fat, 39.60% carbohydrates, and 1.60% crude fiber.Keyword: agar-agarflour, fishball, Channa striata

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the proximate chemical composition of the mud crab (Scylla serrata) shell flour. The parameter measured is proximate composition (moisture, ash, protein, fat, and carbohydrate content). The research method consists of two stages: 1) preparation of mud crab shell flour. 2) proximate analysis of mud crab shell flour. The result showed that the proximate chemical composition contained in the mud crab shell flour of moisture, ash, protein, fat, and carbohydrate content was 5,27% (WW), 63,09% (DW), 13,23% (DW), 0,77% (DW) and carbohydrate 22,91 % (by difference), respectively. Keywords: proximate analysis, mud crab shell, flour preparation

Abstract

ABSTRACTCarrying capacity is defined as the ability of aquatic environment to support the life organism in that area. This study aimed to assess the aquatic carrying capacity of the Perupuk Lake for extensive fishing. The carrying capacity was determined based on primary productivity using the chlorophyll concentration, which is indicating the existence of phytoplankton in waters. A study was conducted in June-July 2019 in Perupuk Lake. There were 3 stations, namely station 1 (inlet area), station 2 (in the middle of  lake) and station 3 (the end of the lake). In each station, there were 2 sampling points, in the surface (0.15 m) and 2 Secchi (0.90 m). Sampling were conducted 3 times, once/week. Water quality parameters measured were transparency, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, CO2, nitrate, phosphate, and chlorophyll-a concentration. Results shown water quality parameters were as follows: concentration of chlorophyll-a was 7.32-8.65 µg/L, transparency 45-50 cm, temperature 28-30oC, pH 5, dissolved oxygen 5.35-6.4 mg/L, CO2  7.32-14.64mg/L, phosphate 0.03-0.06 mg/L, and nitrate 0.12-0.0.18 mg/L. Based on chlorophyll-a concentration, carrying capacity of the Perupuk Lake for extensive fishing was 0.906 tons/year.Keywords :Oxbow lake, primary productivity,phytoplankton, water quality, aquatic

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted  on July 2019 in the mangrove forest Rawa Mekar Jaya Village, Sungai Apit Sub-district, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research aims to  determine the type and abundance of gastropods in Rawa Mekar Jaya Village. The sampling method using a fixed transect lines combined with 1x1 quadrant (m²). Gastropods found were 4 species: Telescopium telescopium, Ellobium aurisjudae, Cerithidea quadrata, and Neritina violacea. Results shown that the highest species abundance obtained from Cerithidea quadrata with 35.334 ind/ha and the lowest was Ellobium aurisjudae with 19.668 ind/ha . The highest gastropod abundance was found in Station III with 144.000 ind/ha, while the lowest gastropod abundance was found in Station I with 71.333 ind/ha. Keywords :Gastropods, abundance, line transect mangrove, Siak Regency

Abstract

ABSTRACT       This research was conducted in Mai - July 2019 in the mangrove area of Padang Birik-Birik Village, Pariaman City, West Sumatra. This study aims to determine the growth and survival of lokan (Polimesodeerosa) seed shells with different densities. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of one factor (stocking density) with four levels of treatment namely stocking densities of 20, 40, 60 and 80 individuals / container or equivalent to 80, 160, 240 and 320, with three replications arranged randomly. The container is made of a net framed by a cubeshape d wooden cube with a length of 50 cm with an area of 250 cm or 0.25 , rate were observed in lokan seed during this study. The results showed that the best growth and survival rates were 20 (80/) stocking densities while the lowest was 80 (240/ ) stocking densities. To be cultivated in the village of Padang Birik-birik naturally can be done with stocking densities 80/and 160.   Keywords: Effect of stocking density, shell growth, Polymesodaerosa, Pariaman

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the quality characteristics of soap using seaweed. The research method was carried out experimentally by making soap from various types of seaweed. The research data were analyzed using a T-test analysis of soap made from 15 grams of E. cottonii, 10 grams of E. spinosum, and 15 grams of E. spinosum. The parameters analyzed were organoleptic (appearance, smell, texture), physical test (foam stability, pH), chemical analysis (moisture content, free alkalis, fatty acids, free fatty acids). Research shows that different use of seaweed affects the quality of the soap produced. The use of seaweed E. spinosum as much as 10 grams is the best treatment with the characteristics of soap, namely: it has a bright and clean appearance, fragrance, a hard texture, not sticky, 75.2% foam stability, pH 8.60, 21.86% moisture content, alkaline free 0.40%, 26.37% fatty acids and 0.68% free fatty acids. Keywords: Eucheuma cottonii, Eucheuma spinosum, soap
