Abstract

A series survey activities was conducted on April 2014 at the Tanjung Pasir Village, Tanah Merah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of this study is to know operation technique, profitability fishing effort, and environmentally of the scraping net which used by fishermen at the Tanjung Pasir Village. The result shows that scraping net is lees be environmentally fishing technology, its based to the 9 creteria of FAO (1995). Based on the profitability analysis show that the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) was 1,9, Financial Rate or Raturn (FRR) was 23,2% and Payback Period of Capital (PPC) was 4 months. From the Profitability fishing effort analyzed of scraping net is giving profitable and properly to be continued.keywords :Scraping net, fishing technology, profitability, Tanjung pasir village

Abstract

The research about reproductive biology of pora-pora (Mystacoleucus padangensis) doneon January to April 2014 in Naborsahan river and Toba Lake. The aim of the researchwas to difine male and female morfology fish, sex ratio, maturity level, fecundity value, relatim ship of fecundity with length and weight. The method in the research was surveymethod. The sampling was done at three stations, namely in Naborsahan river (Station I),downstream of Naborsahan river (Station II), and Toba Lake (Stasiun III). The resultsshow from 515 fishes (189 male and 326 female). The result shown of male and femalewas 1:1,8. The indeks Gonad Somatic (IGS) of the male fish was 1,4-12,8% and thefemale was 0,5-19,6%. Egg diameter was 0,3-0,8 mm. The fecundity equality were20.227-173.441. The relatim ship of fecundity with lenght Y= -14221+2182X and therelatim ship equality of fecundity with weight Y= -402,5+2558X.Keyword: Mystacoleucus padangensis, maturity level, fecundity, GSI

Abstract

Density and distribution population of sea urchin Diadema setosum was conducted in May 2014 at Setan Island. The research aimed to know about its density and distribution pattern. The study used survey method by applying transect and plot. The location of research was covering 3 stations. The stations were chosen base on existence of sea urchin D. setosum on coral reef (reef flat). Transect drawn from 5 m up to 15 m depth during low tide. There were there three plots with a size of 3x3 m² along the transect .The results showed that the sea urchin numbers was 332 individuals, where the density range value was 1,367 individuals/m2. The highest density was recorded at station I and the lowest density was found at station III. Morisita indeks dispersion showed that the location had a uniform distribution (Id<1), except for station III had a clumped distribution (Id>1). The highest size frequency of sea urchin D. setosum was ≤2 cm dan the lowest was 4,1-6 cm.Keywords: Setan Island,Density, Distribution,Diadema setosum

Abstract

Accumulation of Pb and Zn in Blood Shells can be seen that the Shellfish not respond toheavy metal that accumulates in the body at different salinity. Evaluation of the abilityaccumulation Shellfish Blood (Anadara granosa) against Pb fluctuated. While metals Zn showeda fairly high response in the process of accumulation of heavy metals in blood Shells. The concentration of Pb at 20 ppm salinity treatments were the highest found in bothreplicates with a concentration of 0.05 ppm which is equal to 0036 mg / g. While the data waslowest for the first repeat also with a concentration of 0.05 ppm was 0.0027 mg / g. While theconcentration of Zn in the treatment of 20 ppm the highest salinity found in both replicates witha concentration of 2 ppm which is equal to 0.86 mg / g. While the Zn concentration was lowestfor the second replay with 1.5 ppm concentration of 0.38 mg / g.Water quality at each research station there was no difference so far. However, waterquality in the study site contained a water quality to support shellfish life blood. Initialtemperature in this study is the final temperature is 290C and 280C.Keywords: Heavy Metal, Anadara granosa, Salinity

Abstract

This study was conducted in March-May 2014 in the Business Unit GroupSustainable Aquaculture Fisheries, Environment XX Kampung Sentosa West,Village Sicanang Belawan, Medan Belawan subdistrict, Medan. The method usedis an experimental method by using RAL with 3 levels factors and threereplication of control treatment (without ablation and mutilation), ablation, andmutilation. Data were analyzed using ANOVA (P <0.05). Test materials wereused as many as 9 mud crabs were maintained in a single room system takirbamboo of 15 x 15 x 10 cm3 of each partition. Takir bamboo is used as much as 9plot. The results showed that the application of different methods of treatment(ablation and mutilation) was highly significant in accelerating moulting, theaverage absolute carapace length and width, the growth of absolute weight, dailygrowth rate, and survival. The results showed that treatment of mutilation hasbetter effect to accelerate the molting than other treatments with an average speedof moulting 23 day 7 hours 55 minutes 2 seconds. In the treatment of acquiredgrowth mutilation absolute weight (50 grams), growth in absolute length (0.57cm), daily growth rate (1.82%), survival (100%).Keyword : Mud crab, Moulting, and Growth

Abstract

The research was conducted at experimental pond, Fisheries and MarineScience Faculty Riau University from May to July 2014. The aim of the researchwas to determine the benefits of the provision of rubber seed flour as a substitutesoybean meal of Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy Lac). The experiment wasdesign by completely random design and student neuman keuls to differentiateamong treatments. The treatments were applied namely ( 60, 70, 80, 90, and100%). The result indicated that utilization of rubber seed flour does havesignificantly effect on growth of Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy Lac). The bestresult was achieved by treatment C ( 80 % rubber seed flour and 20% soybeanmeal). Total absolute body weight of 25,66 g, Spesific Growth Rate of 3,83 %/day, food efficiency of 42,08 %, while the best protein retention of 30,62 % andsurvival rate of 86,67 % respectively. Water quality during the research aretemperature of 28 – 300 C, pH of 5 – 6, and disolved oxygen of 4,1 - 5 ppm.Keyword : Osphronemus gouramy Lac, rubber seed flour

Abstract

A study on the diversity of zooplankton in the Kandis River was conducted from January 2014. This research aims to understand the type and abundance of zooplankton in the Kandis River . There were three stations with 3 sampling points in each station. Samples were taken 3 times, once a week and they were analyzed in the marine productivity Riau University.Result shown that the phytoplankton obtained were consist of 6 species, they were belonged to of 2 classes, namely Rotifera (4species), Cilliata (2 species). The average of fitoplankton abundance was around 220-319 ind/l. General water quality parameters are as follow: temperature: 290C, brightness: 30-32,5 cm, current speed: 0,08-0,12 m/s, pH: 5, DO: 35–3,7 mg/l, CO2: 11,88–12,9 mg/l.Keywords: Diversity. Wallago lerri is one of fresh water fish that it has value economical high that it isinteresting to in cultivation. Prior to the business of cultivating beforehand donebusiness domestication. The first step in domesticated is transportingtransportation fish to place the location of domestication. This research aimed atdetermining the influence of solid stocking different against Survival rates, fish insize 12-19 cm carting a closed system during two-three hours and knowing thedensity of the best.
