Abstract

This research was conducted on March 31 until 4 April 2014, which took place in the waters of thePambang’s Gulf Bantan District Bengkalis regency Riau province. The metode used in this study isexperimental and survey methods with case studies, namely by direct observation to look the variouslongline fishing activities.The pupose of this studi is to analyze of the catch rate with effectiveness of different sizes oflongline hooks, showing fish catches by different hook sizes, analyze the feasibility of longline effort. Theresults of this research can be an information for researchers, especially for the waters of Pambang’s Gulfon longline gear and longline feasibility effort.The results of this research show that hook rate measuring value of the hooks 7a: 11.1, 5a: 8.9, 7b:10.7, and 5b: 7.6. Based on statistic test One Way ANOVA (Analisysisi of Variance) obtained sig. 0.805 isgreater than the value of α = 0.05 level (p-value> α), its means that there is no difference in fish hook rateby hook. The results of the feasibility calculations for some criteria indicate that longline fishing effortworth forwarded, it can be seen from the value of BCR (Benefit Cost Ratio) of 1.013, FRR value(FinancialRate of Return) by 2.823%, PPC Value (Payback PeriodofCapital) of 35.422 years.Keywords : mini longline, analyze, effort feasibility, Pambang’s gulf

Abstract

A study on the diversity of phytoplankton in the Kandis River was conducted from January 2014. This research aims to understand the type and abundance of phytoplankton in the Kandis River . There were three stations with 3 sampling points in each station. Samples were taken 3 times, once a week and they were analyzed in the marine productivity Riau University.Result shown that the phytoplankton obtained were consist of 15 species, they were belonged to of 3 classes, namely Chlorophyceae (5 species), Bacillariophyceae (3 species), and Cyanophyceae (7 species). The average of fitoplankton abundance was around 1237-1480 cells/l. General water quality parameters are as follow: temperature: 290C, brightness: 30-32,5 cm, current speed: 0,08-0,12 m/s, pH: 5, DO: 35–3,7 mg/l, CO2: 11,88–12,9 mg/l, nitrate: 0,01–0,2 mg/l and phosphate 0,02–0,23 mg/l. Based on phytoplankton abundance, the Kandis River can be categorized as oligotriphic river.Keywords: Diversity. Phytoplankton, Kandis River

Abstract

The research was carried out on July until August 2013 in the Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of fisheries and Marine Science University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to remove HCN from rubber seed and See influence treatment of nutrients. so the rubber seeds can serve as fish feed constituents. This study used a Randomized Complete Design (RAL) with nine treatment three times in rreplication. R0 = Without treatment, R1 = Boiling rubber seeds open for 30 minutes, R2 = steaming open rubber seeds for 30 minutes, R3 = rubber seeds drying out under sunlight for 12 hours, R4 = rubber seed soaking in running water for 36 hours, R5 = combination of steaming open rubber seeds for 30 minutes and drying out for 12 hours, R6 = combination of soaking for 36 hours with steaming open for 30 minutes, R7 = combination of soaking rubber seed soaking in running water for 36 hours with an open boiling for 30 minutes, R8 = combination of Boiling rubber seeds open for 30 minutes and drying out for 12 hours with sun light. The result showed that combination of Boiling rubber seeds open for 30 minutes and drying out for 12 hours with sun light (R8) was the most effective way to decrease HCN content, and gave better quality of rubber seed meal for ruminant feed.Key words: Detoxification, HCN, Rubber Seed.Nutrients.

Abstract

This research was conductedin the District of Natal Beach Natal Mandailing Natal regency of North Sumatra Provincein June 2013. Methods used to determine the respondents in this study is the census 30 people and proportional sampling of 27% of the total population.Tourism activities in Coastal Christmas brings a positive influence directly or indirectly to the family income of fishermen. The positive influence of perceived family fishermen are job opportunities for fishermen and fishing families. Abstract

This research was conducted in March 2014 in the coastal waters of the Village of Kuala Enok of Indragiri Hilir Regency in Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of bacterial contamination of E. coli as an indicator of pollution on “tembakul” (P. schlosseri) fish in the coastal waters of Kuala Enok. Tembakul fish sampling conducted at three observation station, station I is located in the territorial waters adjacent to residential, station II is located in the creek waters, and station III is located in the open sea waters. Samples of “tembakul” fish were analyzed by using the MPN method three series tube at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Biotechnology of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Faculty of University of Riau. The yield on the analysis of the sample gills, digestive tract and fish meat tembakul showed that at the settlement waters and the creek waters the number of bacteria was 1,100 MPN/g but had differences on the meat at the open waters with an average of 747.67 MPN/g. The results showed that the innoculation of bacteria growing at the time of isolation was from the coliform group. Total coliform values ​​at each point of observation station was above the food quality and safety standards required by BSNI 7388: 2009 and BPOM (Agency for Food and Drug Administration) of the maximum contaminant limits in food is 10 MPN/g in fresh meat. Abstract

This study was conducted in September-December 2013 in the tofu factory which is located on Jl . Build Kubang Kingdom Village Tarai Mining District of Kampar district in Riau Province . The purpose of this research is to improve the performance of the biofilter process mediated by a combination of plastic bottles in the phytoremediation of organic pollutants decrease ( BOD and COD ) in waste water out to below the quality standard according PerMenLH No . 15 of 2008 . Results of combination treatment anaerobic - aerobic reactor with fitorediasi of media can reduce BOD levels during the observation with an average of 143.44 mg / l with an average effectiveness of 90.50 % , and for COD can be decreased to 197.46 mg / l with an average effectiveness of 89.74 % . For other parameters also are in accordance with the quality standards that have been established , such as pH 7 , temperature 28 0C , and DO of 3.76 mg / l . While the media processing unit without ( control ) can also reduce levels of BOD and COD , but the effectiveness of processing lower when compared to the unit of media . Where the effectiveness of the average decline during the observation BOD BOD 57.81 % with 661.9 mg / l , and for the effectiveness of COD reached 65.90 % decline in the average COD content of 633.08 mg / l . Tests on fish survival test to know the processed wastewater anaerobic - aerobic reactor combined with phytoremediation of media at the end of the observation has been able to support fish life test . Where to fish monitoring reached 46.67 % , tilapia 70% , and the fish Sepat marsh 86.67 % . Abstract

The research was conducted in May 2013 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Riau University. The aim of the research to know the productivity of catfish (Clarias gariepinus) with aquaponic system. The experimental methode with two treatments was applied in the research namely aquaponic and non-aquaponic. The result indicated that aquaponic have differential on growth of catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The best result was achieved by non-aquaponic. Total absolute body weight, absolute body length, daily growth rate, survival rate and productivity was 20,45 grams, 10,14 cm, 6,40 %/day, 78,89 %, and 7.421 grams respectively. Water quality during in the research with pH 6-7, disolved oxygen (DO) 1,78-4,7 mg/l, ammonia (NH3) 0,22-2,2 mg/l, nitrat (NO3-) 0,06-0,08 mg/l, nitrit (NO2-) 0,06-0,44 mg/l, temperature 30-310C.Keyword: Aquaponic, Survival rate, Clarias gariepinus

Abstract

This research has been done from March to April 2014 in the Bakuok Lake,Aursati Village, Tambang Subdistrict, Kampar District, Riau Province. This research aimsto understand the vertical profil of nitrate in this lake. The research used survey method.The nitrate samples were collected from three station namely station I at inlet of lake,station II in the middle of lake and station III in the end of lake. There were three samplingsites in each station were in the surface, 1,5 Secchi depth and bottom. Sampling was donethree times, once a week. The result shown nitrate concentration in surface : 0,01-0,03mg/L, in 1,5 Secchi depth 0,03-0,06 mg/L and in the bottom 0,05-0,12 mg/L. The nitrateconcentration in surface lower than in the 1,5 Secchi depth and in the bottom and nitrateconcentration increase with the depth. Water quality result shown pH:6, DO: 1,78-5,33mg/L, CO2: 4,66-15,31 mg/L, depth: 208-332 cm, transparency: 74,3-93,7 cm andtemperature: 29,6-30oC. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded the consentration ofnitrate in Bakuok Lake showed the trophic status was Oligotrophic and water quality stillsupport the life of aquatic organisms.Keywords: nitrate, the vertical profile, Bakuok Lake

Abstract

Mystus nigriceps (Bagridae) is a type freshwater fish that live in the tropics which are inhabitants of the waters of the river, oxbow and flood inundation areas in Riau and it is known as carnivor fish. The study aims to understand reproductive biology of M. nigriceps from in The Pinang Luar Oxbow Waters Buluh Cina Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, has been conducted on Januari to April 2014. Parameter measured were sex ratio, GSI, maturity level, fecundity , and egg diameter. There were 132 fishes, There were 82 male and 50 female, Total Long of fish was 23-184 mm and the weight of fish was 2-40 gr, which collected and measured. The ratio of male and female 1:0,6. The GSI of the fish was 0,05-5,9%, egg diameter was relative small (0,28-0,38 mm). The fecundity of fish from the Pinang Luar Oxbow Waters was 5925- 11.258 eggs/fish. The water quality shown tremperature range 26 – 28 0C, pH was 5, DO 4,6 – 6,2 mg/l, C02 5,8-8,8 mg/l, brightness 22-49cm, depth 108-520 cm. The water quality of fish. During the sampling periode, the maturity level of the fish geted was various, indicate that the M. nigriceps spawning period is relatively long. Abstract

This research was conducted in february 2014 ocated in Karimun district Karimun Regency Riau Archipelago Pronvince. Locatian determination is done on purpose as place of research with the basis that there are in Karimun District mackerel fish prossing business into Amplang mackerel crakers. Respondent in this research is the awner business processing mackerel crakker and i employe who works in this business. While consumers and 1 employe who wroks in this busniess. White consumens and marchants who become an informant to obtain supporting data on processed product mackerel crackers.The number of worker in the fish processing business mackerel crackerel as much as 3 people in a onetime processing/ production of fish crackerel processing business is capable of processing up to scopacks, sizes who offerest are heary 1½ ons weight, ptice rp 15.000,- ½ kg weight rp 55.000,- and the weight 1 kg isrp 110.000,-. With an average monthly income is rp 5.284.200,-. Mackerel marketing area is Karimun and Tg,pinang, including, supermarkets, arport and harbor swalayan. The presence the other fish crackers processed mart intocompetition price by mackerel fish crackers product to be very nigh, because processed fish crackers other than mackere lable to well below the price of mackerel creckers. But while the other of procesed crackers offer a low price, mackerel crackers is able to survive because of the this mackerel fish crackers has differenttaste more than other fish crackers.Keyword ; Crackers, Mackerel, Price
