Abstract

Public road lighting facilities are needed to support the activities and mobility of road users. Factor affecting. the point of view of the right type of lamp, the pole distance, the boom length and boom angle of lamp. This is done so that road lighting can be implemented optimally, such as the use of energy-saving lamps and the design of road lighting designs in accordance with SNI. This research aims to evaluate and propose a PJU design by maximizing the efficiency of the lighting system. The study area used for research is the main road of Riau University, especially the main campus of UNRI which is in Panam Pekanbaru. To facilitate the design process, software for lighting simulation is used, namely DIALux evo 8.2. The results of the study refer to SNI 7391:2008. The lamps used 13,4 watts LED with 1600 lumens and 14,6 watts LED with 2200 lumens adapts to lighting needs on the road so as to minimize use of poles and lamps. Based on the results of calculations that have been carried out on the road lighting parameters of the University of Riau, the pole distance is obtained in the range of 10 meters - 17 meters adjusting the distribution of light on the road, the boom length in the range of 0,5 meter - 8.2 meters adjusting the distance of the pole to the road, the boom angle in the range of 0 ° - 15 ° adjusts to the position of the road to the lights, The average illumination level is in the range of 2,93 Lux – 4,38 Lux with an evenness of 0.42 - 0.6 and the glare threshold is in the range of 0 - 2 where the maximum glare threshold is 4. So with this analysis, it is able to produce efficient installation of road lighting and optimized according to SNI. Keywords: public road lighting, road lighting, LED, DIALux

Abstract

Methanol is often called methyl alcohol with the chemical formula CH3OH. Methanol is commonly used for solvents, anti-freezing refrigerants, and fuels. Methanol is also an intermediate compound that is used as raw material for various industries including acetic acid, formaldehyde, MTBE, polyvinyl, polyester, and DME industries. The need for methanol in Indonesia continues to increase. The raw material used in this methanol plant design is natural gas. This methanol plant will operate for 330 days per year with a continuous work of 24 hours/day and a capacity of 200,000 tons/year which will be established in Dumai, Riau. The main equipment design in this plant is the Reactor Syntesis Methanol which functions to form methanol in the form of syntesis gas as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) with the help of H2O. The Syntesis Methanol Reactor is operated at a pressure of 50 bar and a temperature of 250 ° C. The economic analysis on the design of this plant shows that the Methanol plant with the Lurgi Low Pressure process is feasible to be built with the profit after tax of Rp8,190,624,006,578 and the factory Payback Period (PBP) of 3.1 years.Keywords: Lurgi Low Pressure Process, Methanol, Natural Gas, Syntesis Gas, Syntesis Methanol Reactor

Abstract

Literature work is a tool used by authors that contains ideas about works of art. Language in literature works becomes a tool to createa special feeling that contains aesthetic value, apart from being a means of communication, which is able to convey various kinds ofinformation to the audience or reader. Today's literature art has begun to be abandoned by the society because it is less attractive tothe younger generation. This appalling condition has resulted in the absence of quality works from Riau writers today. In addition tothe disappearance of the printed newspapers that previously provided space for literature, the space for friendship between literarycommunities seems to have been cut off. Related to this, Pekanbaru needs a Center for Literature Arts that can function as a mediumand medium for appreciation of the development of literary arts. To achieve this goal, the Center for Literary Arts is designed withvarious facilities that can support literary arts development activities such as educational, production and recreation facilities. DesignMethods of the Center for Literature Arts in Pekanbaru with an Expressionist Architectural Approach. The infinity concept waschosen as a concept in the design of the Center for Literary Arts to be unlimited from writers in their work. This concept is a responseto the functions and themes of design and building, namely Expressionist Architecture, which explains that creativity has noboundaries. Apart from having an educational purpose, this design also displays visuals that can express imagination. The researchmethod used are including field data collection, literature study and empirical studies. The design results with the Infinity concept thatadopts the form and meaning of the application principles of Expressionist Architecture. The interesting shape of the building, theatmosphere of the shape is created by the use of building colors that inspire enthusiasm, and the use of varied material elements thatplay a role in conveying the message of the meaning of the building.Keywords: Center for Literature Arts, Architecture Expressionist, Infinity.

Abstract

Rangsang Island is one of the 4 main islands in the Meranti Islands Regency. The location of this island is very strategic because it is directly with the Malacca Strait so that this island has a very high economic value. Abrasion that occurred on Rangsang Island resulted in many losses experienced by people living on the coast of the island, including eroded coconut plantations, damaged docks, and people who were forced to evacuate because their homes were very prone to landslides. This condition is related to sea level rise due to global climate change, which makes these coastal areas vulnerable to disasters. This study aims to determine the vulnerability index of the coastal area of Rangsang Island based on oceanographic physical parameters (tidal and wave height) having a moderate level of vulnerability. Meanwhile, the sea level around the coast shows a high vulnerability. From the data obtained, the highest sea level rise was in Sonde village of 1.23 m and the lowest sea level rise was in Sungai Gayung Kiri village of 1.09 m. This value indicates that Sonde village has a high level of vulnerability in the category. This index variation shows that local changes on the coast of Mendol Island are correlated with global changes that occur, where local sea level rise is the impact of global ocean and climate changes.Keywords: Sea Level Rise, Wave Period and Height, Rangsang Island

Abstract

Bengkalis Regency has rice fields with an area of 5,014 ha. The extent of this rice field is a potential that can support the availability of food to meet local and regional needs. One of the irrigation areas in Bengkalis Regency is the Daerah Irigasi Rawa Sepotong in Langkat Village. This irrigation has an area of 326 ha and is a rainfed irrigation area that only utilizes rainfall to meet irrigation water needs. Although in the rainy season the irrigation water needs are met, in the dry season the rainfall is not able to meet the irrigation water needs. One alternative source of water for this irrigation area can be taken from the Siak Kecil River. However, the water level of the Siak Kecil River is lower than the elevation of the rice fields, so pumping is needed to drain the water. This research was conducted by using various secondary data and analyzing the feasibility of the pumping development. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the availability of reliable discharge (Q80) of the Siak Kecil River using the F.J Mock method was 31.5 m3/s with the highest irrigation water requirement in August period I of 0.68 m3/s. With a very high level of water availability compared to the irrigation water needs of the area, technically the construction of irrigation pumping is feasible.  Keywords: F.J Mock method, feasibility, irrigation, irrigation water needs, pumping, water availability.

Abstract

Forest and land fires can produce Greenhouse Gases (GHGs), most of which are in the form of carbon dioxide (CO2) which are harmful to health and the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriate forest and land fire control strategy to be applied in Riau Province. The method used in this study is by referring to government regulations and regional regulations of Riau Province. The results showed that the forest and land fire control strategy was divided into 3 activities, namely: forest and land fire prevention, forest and land fire suppression, and post forest and land fire control.Keywords: Control strategies, Forest Fires, handling, prevention, suppression

Abstract

Taman Jalur is one of the recreational destinations in Teluk Kuantan, which is located on the edge of the Batang Kuantan River, Teluk Kuantan, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau. There are many people who carry out activities in the park make them take small business in the park of area. This causes in disorder of the lane park area, it makes some troubles, that are circulation, open space, land use, a pedestrian, and parking area. To overcome this problem, a special culinary arrangement is needed as a forum for street vendors to sell which will not only solve culinary problems but also problems outside of culinary that have a direct impact on Taman Jalur as a landmark of Teluk Kuantan City. The arrangement of the Food Court uses a Waterfront Architecture approach which basically has the principle of protecting the edge river area and developing its potentials that can improve human interaction with the natural surroundings in a design that refers to the function of structuring culinary and recreational tourism.Keyword : Taman Jalur, Food Court, Waterfront Architecture

Abstract

The supply of clean water in Riau Province can only reach urban areas, thus encouraging some people in rural areas to use peat water to meet their needs. Peat water does not meet the specified clean water quality standards because it has the characteristics of a brownish red color, low acidity and high organic matter content. One of the ways to treat peat water into clean water is by using a ceramic membrane filtration process. Abstract

The total population of Mandau District in 2019 was recorded at 163,414 people with an average population growth rate of 1.46%, so the waste produced will also increase which causes an increase in the volume of waste. In addition, waste management facilities such as Temporary Shelters (TPS) provided by the Garbage Management Agency have not served all communities in Mandau District, resulting in the emergence of illegal TPS. The purpose of this study is to calculate illegal dumping volume, map the distribution of illegal dumping waste, analyze factors for the emergence of illegal dumping such as Geophysical factors, Anthropogenic factors, legal dumping availability factors, illegal TPS service factors and plan the location of illegal dumping in Mandau District. This research was conducted by tracking the study location to determine the existence of illegal dumping, and then taking the coordinates of the location using the Global Position System (GPS), then plotting coordinates using the ArcMap 10.8 software. The results found that there were 34 distribution points of illegal dumping in the study area. In the analysis of geophysical factors, based on the highest number of illegal polling stations found on local roads, there were 22 points (65%), on arterial roads as many as 11 points (32%), and collector roads as many as 1 point (3%). Based on the type of land, the highest number of illegal dumping is 26 points (76%) on the shoulder of the road and on empty land as much as 8 points (24%). Based on anthropogenic factors, at the education level the number of illegal polling stations increased along with the increase in respondents at high school level 78 people (81%). Based on the type of work, the number of illegal dumping increased along with the increase in respondents for the types of jobs of private employees and self-employed workers. Based on population density, the population density in the study location varies and has no effect on the number of illegal polling stations.Keywords: Mandau District, Mapping of Illegal Dumping, Geographic Information System (GIS).

The impact of the large amount of agricultural waste produced has the potential to pollute the environment. One of the efforts made to utilize waste and increase its economic value is to process it into an active circuit which is then applied as an adsorbent.
