Abstract

Peat is spread widely in Sumatera Island, especially in Riau Province, Indonesia. Peat is included as problematic soil because it has low bearing capacity. The use of helical pile foundation on peat is one of the innovations to increase the peat’s bearing capacity. In this research, numerical modelling of single helical pile foundation load test on peat were carried out, based on the full-scale test conducted by Suratman (2019). The modelling were done by using PLAXIS 2D 2016 program with Axisymetry model type, with the Soft Soil Creep (SSC) soil model. This modelling aimed to know the failure mechanism of model. The parameters used in the modelling were obtained from laboratory test data and field tests and also from trial and error method. The failure mechanism that occurs on the Soft Soil Creep (SSC) model is more likely to be a cylindrical shear failure.Keywords : Peat, Helical Pile, PLAXIS 2D, Failure Mechanism.

Abstract

Batik was previously only famous on the island of Java, but over time, batik has spread throughout Indonesia and can be enjoyed by various groups. UNESCO's acknowledgment of batik culture makes batik must be maintained its existence and sustainability. Riau Province also participates in preserving batik and has different batik patterns and motifs from other regions of the archipelago. The motifs and characteristics of Riau batik are adopted from Riau Malay culture, marked by the use of striking colors, flora motifs in Riau, perpendicular grooves, and having a meaningful philosophy. However, there are still many Riau people who do not know and know Riau Batik, people only know and are familiar with batik from Java so that interest in Riau Batik is low. For this reason, it is necessary to have a place for the community to learn about Riau batik and a place for batik to grow, develop and maintain its sustainability, namely the Batik House. The design of the batik house uses an eco-tech architectural theme. Through this theme, it is hoped that the design of the Riau Batik House building can adapt to the natural, social and local cultural environment, survive and function with the times as well as Batik crafts that still survive today, involve technology to support ecological architectural design and provide comfort aspects. for users. Abstract

Hot rolled sheet (HRS) characteristics can be improved by adding additives in the asphalt. This study aims to analyze and determine the effects of concentration and weight ratio of graphene nanosheets (GNSs) additive on the characteristics of HRS. The research was carried out in several stages, starting from the preparation of graphite powder from 2B pencils, preparation of 60/70 penetration asphalt and aggregates, making GNSs solution using the turbulance assisted shear exfoliation (TASE) method and continued with the manufacture of HRS with variations in GNSs concentrations of 10 mg/ml, 20 mg/ml and GNSs weight ratios of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%. The results showed that the concentration and weight ratio of GNSS could affect the stability value, flow and marshall quotient (MQ) of the HRS. The best results were obtained at a concentration of 20 mg/ml and a weight ratio of 15% GNSs, with a stability value of 1541.19 kg, flow of 4.13 mm and MQ of 391.74 kg/mm.Keywords : Asphalt, Graphene nanosheets (GNSs), Hot rolled sheet (HRS)

Abstract

According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in 2020, palm oil is the first commodity in Riau Province. Until 2020, the total area of oil palm land in Riau province reached 2,424,545 hectares. As a leading commodity, it is necessary to monitor land accurately and periodically to control the productivity of oil palm land Unmanned aerial photography technology or commonly called Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) can support spatial data providers on a fairly large scale. In addition to being effective and efficient both in terms of cost and time of use, UAVs can also produce fairly clear photos. The mapping process can also be done automatically with aerial photo processing software. This research was conducted in Kandis District on land owned by Mr. Legimin with an area of 30 hectares using a SkyWalker fixed wing UAV. The steps used in this research are drone preparation, flight altitude planning, drone testing on the ground, camera calibration settings, taking aerial photos, viewing aerial photos, then analyzing aerial photos. Aerial photos are combined to form a mosaic of upright photo images, namely Orthophoto which is the basis for making a fairly accurate map of oil palm land.Keywords: Palm Oil, Aerial Photos, UAV

Abstract

Dumai Coast is directly facing Malacca Strait that its prone to damage. Coastal vulnerability analysis was carried out to know the coastal vulnerability index of Dumai Coast and useful as a first step to cope with the damage.The paper presents a method for integrating Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI), and Geographic Information system (GIS) technology to map the coastal vulnerability.Emphasize has been made to the method-ological aspect, essentialy which is linked to:The use of GIS technique for constructing, interpolation, filtering, and resampling the data for shoreline gird. This research was conducted on the Coast Dumai along 107 km with the coordinates 101º 0’ 38” - 101º 43’ 33” East Longitude, 01º 26’ 50” - 02º 15’ 40” North Latitude. Coastal vulnerability index is calculated with the value of the physical variables such as shoreline changes, the length and width of the damage, the width of the green belt, wave height, tidal range, land use, and coastal slope. The analysis of satellite imagery is to analyze shoreline changes, the length and width of the damage, the width of the green belt, tidal range, and land use. The hydro-oceanography data is used for tha analysis of wave height and bathymetry data is used for tha analysis of coastal slope. Results of analysis showed that Pelintung Village, Mundam Village, Teluk Pulau Hilir Village, Village Bangko kanan, Basilam Baru Village, and Batu Teritip Village have low coastal vulnerabilty (0 < CVI < 25). Abstract

The Information and Communication Technology Integrated Services Unit (UPT TIK) is an unit in the University of Riau which is engaged in the service and management of everything related to information technology. UPT TIK manages network devices such as routers and switches that are scattered in every faculty/ institution building in the University of Riau. Network administrator who monitors the network equipment. Currently, the monitoring process uses the Cisco switches at UPT TIK by checking the devices one by one. This monitoring process is deemed ineffective because there are many devices unmanagable scattered in every faculty/institution building at the University of Riau so that administrator have difficulty checking the state of the devices whether they are connected or not. In this study, the design and implementation of the SNMP protocol for network management was carried out directly at the UPT TIK University of Riau. A monitoring system can also be called a Network Management System, which is a system that functions to assist network administrator in monitoring and controlling network devices. SNMP is anapplication protocol on a TCP / IP network that can be used as a protocol in Network Management System. The development of this system uses the PHP Programming Language and the MySQL database management system. From the results of system testing and analysis, it is found that the monitoring and network management systems that have been designed can run well in monitoring network devices. Abstract

Rotating Alga Biofilm Reactor (RABR) is a biological wastewater treatment using microorganisms with suspension and biofilm culture processes. The microorganism used in this study was the microalgae Chlorella sp. that require nutrients such as carbon, nitrogen and light for growth. This nutrient source is obtained from domestic wastewater which has a high organic matter content. In this study, variations of disc surface roughness (type 1, type 2 and type 3) were performed on the Rotary Alga Biofilm Reactor process and contact time (0, 1, 3, 5 days) to remove NH3, parameters. Reactor with variations of disk surface roughness type 3 was able to remove NH3 concentration of 3.26 mg/l and removal efficiency of 83.84% on the 5th day with a total number of microalgae cells based on suspension and biofilm of 8.65 x 106 cells/ml. Abstract

Oil palm trunk is a solid agricultural waste that has not been optimally utilized. One of the uses of oil palm trunk is by relieve starch to be used as a raw material for making pulp. This experiment was intended to study the possibility of using starch-free oil palm trunk as the alternative raw material in the pulp industry. The experiment was carried out in batch on a laboratory scale. The catalyst (HCl) concentration were studied at 0%, 0,05%, 0,10%, 0,15% 0,20%-weight at different reaction times (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, and 180) minutes using 85%-weight formic acid as the solvent, and liquid to solid ratio of 15:1. From the research that has been done, it was found that the best conditions for pulp cooking with the organosolv process, namely with a catalyst concentration of 0.2% with a reaction time of 60 minutes, producing pulp with 93.17% alpha cellulose content, 37.05% yield, while the lowest lignin content. obtained at a concentration of 0.1% with a reaction time of 60 minutes that is equal to 12%.Keywords: alpha cellulose, lignin, formic acid, orgnosolv, starch-free oil palm trunk

Abstract

Domestic wastewater consists of black water and grey water, grey wateras the largest contributor to the total domestic wastewater contains organicmaterial. Microalgae Chlorella sp can its organic compounds and nutrients forphotosynthesis to reduce pollutants in grey wastewater. Rotary Algae BiofilmReactor (RABR) technology is a biological treatment with a suspended growthsystem and uses disk media as a site for attached growth occurs. This study aims to remove COD and TSS parameters in grey waste water by treatment withvariations in depth of immersed disks, which are 40%, 60%, and 80% in contact0,1,3, and 5 days. The results of the highest research during the deep processing showed the efficiency parameters, namely the variation of the depth of the disk submerged 80% on day 5 with the total density of microalgae cells Chlorella sp. suspension-based and attached at 9,55 x 106 cells/ml. The removal efficiency of COD was 81,58% with a concentration of 100 mg/l and the increase in TSS concentration was 522 mg/l.Key Word : Rotary Alga Biofilm Reactor (RABR), Grey Waste Water, Chlorellasp., Depth of Immersed Disk, COD.

Abstract

Currently, floriculture is a significant agribusiness commodity in Indonesia, especially in Pekanbaru. Floriculture is enjoyed in the form of its beauty, therefore the demands for quality are very high. Cultivating various types of floriculture can be a very prospective agribusiness business for today's society. The lack of public awareness of the importance of a fresh environment can affect the increasing demand for floriculture crops, especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic, some people in Pekanbaru recently chose to increase their busyness by planting floriculture. So a Floriculture Center was designed in Pekanbaru, where Pekanbaru is a suitable location for the breeding of floriculture plants which generally have a tropical climate. The design object is integrated with the application of the Permaculture Principles. A theme that holds true to the principles of balance and sustainability. Thus, the Floriculture Center is a center that accommodates facilities in the form of educational and recreational facilities related to the cultivation and development of Floricultural plants.
