Abstract

An electric power system must have reliable and continuously supply the need for electrical energy. One of methods to support reliability is a protection system that can handle the fault. Fault on the distribution network is short circuit fault, if it not removed immediately it will damage the equipment in its path. Protection relays commonly used on distribution networks to protect the system from short circuit fault are Over Current Relay (OCR) and Ground Fault Relay (GFR) to maintain and improve the distribution networks protection system it is necessary to evaluate the coordination of the installed relay. The protection relay coordination is when short circuit fault appear in the system , the closest relay point to the fault point will work and gives a signal to trip the circuit breaker When a short circuit fault occurs, the relay closest to the fault point will work first and if the fault current value exceeds the adjustment of the backup relay behind it, the backup relay will trip after the main relay trip. When checked, time grading on the installed conditions does not meet the IEC 60255 standard, which is 0.4-0.5 seconds. So, the adjustment is done and the time grading between OCR is obtained according to IEC 60255 standard, which is 0.402 seconds. While the GFR in the installed condition also does not meet with the IEC 60255 standard so the adjustment is performed and the evaluation time between the GFR in accordance with the IEC 60255 standard is 0.492 seconds. Abstract

Along with technological advances in modern times, and the development of science, human needs are also growing. In order to facilitate human work, many technologies have been created using automatic systems. One of them is in the case of automatic plant watering for farmers or garden owners. For this reason, the authors carried out a design of automatic plant sprinklers based on the YL-38 type soil moisture sensor which will be controlled by Arduino. Which later will send a duty cycle to the buck converter to change the voltage automatically according to soil conditions which have been grouped into four parts, namely very dry, dry, humid, and wet. Changes in voltage will affect the rotational speed of the motor according to the needs of the ground. With real time watering, the RTC DS1302 type is used so that this watering will be more scheduled. This watering uses a supply from a 12 volt DC battery with a 12 volt water pump motor load. Abstract

Forest fire is a problem that always occurr in the tropic areas when entering the dry season. To be able to anticipate forest fire early, it is necessary to have a remote detection system. WSN is one of systems that can detect and monitor forest fire remotely by placing node sensors on the location. In this application, there is a possibility that node sensors burned because of fire. This paper aims to investigate the performance of clustering routing protocol applied in WSN for forest fire application. There are three clustering routings analyzed; LEACH, LEACH-C and Modified LEACH.. Simulations were carried out using NS-2.35 software with measured parameters were throughput, packet loss, and energy consumed. The simulation results show that when the number of burn nodes increases, the throughput and packet loss of LEACH and LEACH decrease. Mean while , these performance index tend to stable in Modified LEACH. In term of energy consumed Modified LEACH the same pattern as in the throughput and packet loss. There is a significant in the number of energy consumed on LEACH-C in contrast, it rise slowly in LEACH.Keywords : Clustering Routing Protocol, WSN, Forest fire

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Pekanbaru City are an important part of the economy in Pekanbaru City. Development of the technology makes’ many people can buildtheir own business. Along with the number of businesses in Pekanbaru, many actors’ businesses are competing to promote and increase their businesses’ branding. One of the smartstrategies of MSME is to promote sales and increase profits through cooperation in events or exhibitions. This events can be a potential promotional field for the owners of Micro, Smalland Medium Enterprises or MSME. The system used to get information when the event will be performed by MSME in Pekanbaru is still using the traditional system by finding the events which organized by organizations or companies by MSME selves, mean while nowadays, thedevelopment of sophisticated technologies give many benefits. One of the benefits is to find every events information be easier. Abstract

316L stainless steel is a material that can be used as an implant because it has strong mechanical properties but does not have bioactive properties so it needs to be coated with hydroxyapatiteon the surface of 316L stainless steel. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of weight ratio of hydroxyapatite and distilled water to the thickness of the hydroxyapatite layer. The method used in the study starts from the preparation of the dipping solution then the substrate was installed in the dip coating unit and the dipping processbegins. The fixed variables used in this research are the amount of HAp weight that is 12 grams, the stirring time is 20 hours, and the sintering time is 1 hour. While the changeable variables used in this study are the amount of aquades by 24 and 28 grams. Parameters has a significant effect on layer coating thickness which gives 29,6% change in the thickness of the HAp layer. The more addition of distilled water to the coating solution, the thickness of the HAp layer decreases and vice versa.Keywords : dip coating, hydroxyapatite, implan, steel

Abstract

The availability of water is very important in our life and the other organisms. Use of water is important for daily activities such as household necessities, irrigation, industry, and other activities. In this research, the location isin Rokan Kiri sub-watershed at Lubuk Bendahara Station. The development of the life in Rokan Hulu Regency need repairs and the provision of facilities and infrastructure, including the availability of water. The need forwater will increase from year to year along with developments in various sectors, the agricultural sector, and increasing number of human populations which cause crises and lack or scarcity of water. This situationcertainly making people difficulty to fulfill daily needs. To avoid problems in the future, it is necessary to longterm debt forecasting with one of the methods that can be used, namely Soil Moisture Accounting method, in the HEC-HMS program with some required data, such as rain data, discharge data and climatological data with a one year data period, thai is 2007, where these parameters are inputted to carry out the calibration and verification process that get the most optimal results and close to the results of observations. Based on thisresearch, it can be concluded that the value of the Percent error in discharge volume for one year of calibration is the PEV results for the calibration process results of 4.27% "Very Good" and verification of 57.9%"Unsatisfactory", it can be concluded that good results during the calibration process will not necessarily get good results during the verification process.Keywords: water avalability, soil moisture accounting, hec-hms

Abstract

Indonesia is a country in a tropical climate where the number of highlightning days per year is high. Transmission lines are one of the systems often affected by lightning disturbances directly or indirectly by lightning stroke. In this paper to minimize the occurrence of these disturbances, a lightning strike protection system is needed by using one or two grounding wires installed above the phase wire, this ground wire is grounded through the tower body by using a counterpoise grounded a few meters below the tower footing. Then, the simulation is running using the MATLAB r2016a Syntax to reduce the cross-arm voltage then minimize the back-flashover by increasing the size of the grounding electrode. The simulation result shows that the value of crossarm voltage is 2056,1 kV with a resistance value is 9,8 Ohm causes back-flashover. Then the electrode size was added so that the resistance value changed to 5.32 Ohm and the crossarm voltage value decreased by 1323.4 kV so that back-flashover could be minimized.Keywords: Direct Stroke, Counterpoise, Back-flashover

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country that has various types of wood. However, the supply of wood time to time is decreasing, while in construction the demand for wood is increasing. This increase has resulted in massive exploitation of the forest, so that the availability of large diameter timber from natural forests is increasingly limited. The use of wood that has a shorter cutting age (10-15 years) and has a small diameter is not efficient as a structural or construction component. The technology used is a structural form that does not come from whole wood but rather a laminated component that is made through a bonding process. This study aims to determine the shear strength of solid testing, solid coating testing, lamination testing, and coating lamination testing. The wood used in this study is acacia crassicarpa wood and the adhesive used is epoxy adhesive. The adhesive weight used was 50 MDGL (Multilayer Double Glue Line). From the test for testing the solid shear strength is 4,01 MPa, the shear strength of the laminate is 2,10 MPa, the shear strength of the solid coating is 3,37 MPa, the shear strength of the coating laminate is 2,83 MPa.Key words: Laminate beam, acacia crassicarpa wood, shear strength, epoxy adhesi.

Abstract

Cumene is a compound that is very important for the development of the chemical industry, including its uses, among others, as a raw material for the manufacture of phenol, acetone, acetophenone, resins, solvents and terephthalic acid, while for the mechanical industry, cumene compounds are used for the manufacture of fuel additives with the aim of increasing aircraft piston engine capabilities. The cumene plant is designed using the Badger process with benzene and propylene as raw materials. The cumene plant with a capacity of 10,000 tons/year operates for 330 days/year and will be built in 2025 at the Dumai industrial area, Riau Province. The raw materials used are propylene and benzene using a new zeolite catalyst developed by (MCM-22), tested by Badger. The main tool designed is the Depropanizer (T-101) which functions to separate propane from its compounds. The depropanizer has a height of 10,657 m and a diameter of 3,278 m with a sieve tray distillation type and a torispherical head. The total investment capital for the cumene plant is Rp. 1,012,308,524,263 with a fixed cost of Rp. 151,846,278,639. The economic feasibility analysis of the plant shows that the plant is feasible to continue to the next stage of design, which can be seen from the analysis of the IRR value obtained by 22.83%, the ROI value of 58.21%, and the pay back period of 4.39 years. Abstract

The vaccination program is targeted to last until March 2022. Based on vaccination targets, the widely used vaccine is a vaccine with a distribution temperature of 2-8 ° C of 276.5 million. The thing that really needs to be observed is how to distribute the covid-19 vaccine from one place to another that is able to keep the temperature so that the vaccine can be maintained and not damaged before vaccination. From this problem one solution to distribute the covid-19 vaccine at a distribution temperature of 2-8 ° C with a cooling box using an environmentally friendly cooling system and has low power, one of which is adding Heat pipe and Thermoelectric Cooler, which can maintain the temperature of the vaccine. Heat pipe used by cooper as heat absorption, while in Thermoelectric Cooler type TEC2-25408 which can later maintain the temperature of the distribution of the covid-19 vaccine 2-8 ° C. Based on the calculation of the highest COP is 0.354.
