Abstract

Housing development has led to increase in the demand for the production of non-structural constituent materials such as bricks. Apart from that the increased production of bricks also creates waste from thebricks themselves such as defective brick. The defect may caused by improper forms, inadequate requirements for combustion and broken stones when transporting locations. This study aims to find theMarshall characteristic value in the asphalt concrete wearing course mixture filler under conditions of optimum asphalt content with used variations of brick ash and portland cement as filler replacement withratio of 0:100, 25:75, 50:50, 75:25 and 100:0. The method used in this study is the experimental method and descriptive analysis. The combination of these two methods identified based on facts obtained during testing and then analyzed based on literature and other supporting data. In the condition of optimum asphaltcontent, all variations meet the Marshall characteristics requirements. The best composition is found in variations of 100:0 (100% brick ash : 0% portland cement) with a stability value of 1280 kg and flow of 3.90mm, with optimum asphalt content of 5.90% and VMA value of 16.00%, VFA 75.00%, VIM 3.95% and MQ 345 kg/mm.Keywords: Brick Ash, Laston AC-WC, Filler

Abstract

This research is proposed to design a smart lock system by using QR Code scanning as a key in the locker. The device system design consists of ESP8266 Node MCU module, 12V Power Switch Adapter, AMS 1117 module with 3.3V and 5V output voltages, three pieces of 5V Relays, and three pieces of 12VSolenoids. The design of database uses a web hosting database server. The results showed that each components can work properly and the MySQL database has many tables and each tables containspersonal data from admins and students. Then in terms of security systems, the login level status and user verification were added to the tables. the login level will active when a student fails to login more thanthree times, the database will automatically block the account and send an email notification to the user. This aims to protect the account from irresponsible parties when accessing the locker. Meanwhile, userverification is intended to validate the student's personal data by using their student ID card (KTM).Keywords : Smart Lock System, QR-code , Solenoid , MySQL

Abstract

Liquefation is an occurrence triggered by the earthquake that can cause fatal damage. When the earthquake occurs, the soil on location changes in nature from solid to liquid due to massive cyclic load. One of the liquefaction analysis methods is based on the results of the Cone Penetration Test (CPT). In general the analysis is based on the results of electrical CPT (CPTe), however, in Indonesia, it is preferent by using mechanical CPT data (CPTm). This study aims to compare the results of liquefaction analysis namely the Liquefaction Potential Index (LPI) using the Olsen method based on the value of mechanical CPT and converted mechanical CPT. This study is located on the Kejaksaaan Tinggi Riau Building. Based on the results study, that research site has a higher liquefaction potential if analyzed using CPTm data that has been corrected to CPTe. The range of LPIm value compared to LPIe is 0,373 – 0,638 with the category of liquefaction potential “Moderate” to “Very High”. Abstract

Cipogas lake has a non-uniform topography, that non-uniform topography caused flow patterns. Which results in a non-uniform of velocity and sediment distribution and then influences the changing trend of the reservoir bed configuration. Hydraulic simulation has used a RMA-2 model to determine flow patterns and velocity distribution. Topographic data, flood discharge, and surface water elevation are used as basic data for RMA-2 processing. Sediment transport simulation has used a SED2D module to generate sediment movements. The grain size and sediment concentration are used as a basis for SED2D processing. The simulation results showed that the flow pattern affects the velocity distribution and sediment distribution at certain times in the lake so that there is a change in the lake bed configuration. The bed configuration of the cipogas lake based on simulation results is classified in the Transition and Dunes. Keyword: flow patterns, sediment distribution, bed configurations

Abstract

Empty palm bunches as the most waste generated from the processing of fresh fruit bunches have the potential to be used as renewable energy source in the form of biomass briquettes. This can be seen form the availability are ±23% from the all process and have thermal energy is ±4.958,46 cal/gr. However, the burning of empty palm bunches briquettes as solid fuel for household can effect the indoor air quality, so need to do study test. In this study will test the gas pollutant CO dan NO2 from the burnng of empty palm bunches briquettes use the adsorbent method with impinger. The test will doing in 1 hour in the room that has 15% surface area ventilation of the floor surface area. The test result will be compared with quality standar PerMenKes RI No. 1077 in 2011. The result show that there 4,75 ppm CO and 0,033 ppm NO2. Based on the result of this study that the burnng of empty palm bunches briquettes with the room that has 15% surface area ventilation of the floor surface area were below quality standar PerMenKes RI No. 1077 in 2011 about Pedoman Penyehatan Udara dalam Ruangan Rumah.Keywords : briquettes, empty palm bunches, indoor air quality, concentrasion of gaseous pollutans.

Abstract

Peat water has high color intensity, low pH, high levels of organic matter, turbidity and low suspended particle content and low cation content. Peat water test results produce high levels of color and organic matter parameters in peat water. Where, a high level of parameters can cause problems caused by consuming peat water without treatment including making teeth brittle due to acidic water. Abstract

A drought occurs when there is a lack of precipitation over an extended period of time, usually a season or more, resulting in a water shortage. BNPB, National Disaster Mitigation Regency has issued a drought disaster risk index map in Riau province which has a moderate and high level of drought risk. Siak regency is one that is experiencing the risk of drought in riau province. Therefore, drought index analysis using rainfall data from TRMM satellite (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) was analyzed using Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) method. Drought deployment and hotspot calculations in maps in GIS (Geographic Information System). A half month period on grid 5 with a value of (-4.589) and a month on grid 4 with value (-3,863) in February 2014 is the most severe dry category SPI classification. The association of fires affected by the meteorological drought index affected the a half month period due to the presence of more fires. However, not only the meteorological drought index affects fires, but can be caused by soil types, land cover and over land conversion.Keywords: drought, drought index, SPI, TRMM, GIS

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design and simulate a DC-DC converter that can amplify the voltage generated by the 14 VDC voltage source to be inputted to an inverter without a transformer to produce a voltage of 220 VAC. The voltage generated by DC sources, both solar cells and storage batteries is generally relatively low to meet the voltage's minimum value to be used as the input voltage for the 220 V inverter. A modified SEPIC converter topology is used by adding a secondary winding to one converter inductor called a coupled inductor. The inductor coupling is used to increase the voltage proportional to the primary to the secondary winding ratio in the coupling inductor. This converter can produce a static voltage gain with a ratio of 17 times without increasing the duty-cycle value. The converter modeling circuit was built and simulated using MATLAB-SIMULINK 2016a software. The SEPIC DC-DC design converter with the modification of the inductor coupling can produce an average output voltage of 247 VDC. Keywords: SEPIC converter, inductor coupling, high gain ratio

Abstract

The flood problem and inundation local often occuring in regions Rumbai Pesisir, precisely in the intersection of Yos Sudarso Street. The main cause of the flood and water was changes to land of the natural environment to development , raising the surface watertight , for example the way , commercial area , the sidewalk , and residential . This change reduce , disturbing vegetation natural or eliminate the ground up , the natural and drainage patterns that prevents , vaporize , store , issued slowly and meresapkan water . The impact of changes to land management in the region yos sudarso was the increasing flow of direct surface (run off) and parse water to seep in ground which can make puddles .On pesing , analysis was conducted hydrology with the data of rain in 20 years from station office hydrology. Analysis hydrology planning it uses distribution probability logs pearson type 3 and with on the EPA SWMM with a period of flood re until 2033. Obtained discharge minimum flood of 46,648 m3/seconds and discharge flood maximum of 251,252 m3/seconds. On planning dimensions drainage channel namely worn varying dimensions existing 2m x 1.6m and dimensions plan 2.5m x 2.5m. in the calculation of using program channel EPA SWMM planned in road area yos sudarso with dimensions 2m x 1.6m currently unable to accommodate water during the incident the period flood repeated 2033. Furthermore planning a drainage channel dimension Street Area Yos Sudarso changed to 2.5 m x 2.5 m able to accommodate water when genesis flood plan and land use change the period until the year 2033. Engineer Estimate for the development of the drainage channel Street area Yos Sudarso Rumbai Pesisir Sub-Districts requires total costs incurred is Rp 35.524.770.000,00 (Thirty five billion five hundred twenty-four million seven hundred seventy thousand rupiah).Keyword: Analysis Hydrology, Drainage Dimension, EPA SWMM, Engineer Estimate

Abstract

The supply of fossil energy is already at a critical time. Renewable energy such as sunlight and others are expected to cope with the energy crisis. The existing renewable still in the form of direct voltage. In automobile applications stored in the battery, which is used as the energy of the induction motor. So that a bidirectional inverter is needed to convert that directional voltage to rotate the induction motor. This research purposes to design and analyze bidirectional inverter to supply three phase Induction motor 380 V with 48 V Battery as the source. In Inverter mode, motor is supplied by battery, after the voltage is increased by the transformer. While it charge the battery through motor rotation in rectifier mode, after the voltage is decreased by the transformer. The design simulation is done by matlab simulink.
