Abstract

Diabetes mellitus affects millions of people worldwide. At present, the technology used by people with diabetes for determining blood glucose concentration is an invasive method that requires a blood sample and is thus painful. Bloodless and painless technology to monitor blood glycaemic levels could improve the lives of diabetes patients. This paper presents the design of a Mikrostrip antenna which can be used for non-invasive blood glucose monitoring. The antenna works well atfrequency of 2.46 GHz. This frequency shift can be used to observe the change in blood's concentration, which will be used to estimate the concentration of glucose in the blood.Keywords: Mikrostrip Antenna, Return Loss, Non Invasive Method,Glucose Monitoring, ISM Band

Abstract

Subgrade is very important in road construction. Peat have high organic matter with low bearing capacity, need to be stabilized before being used as a subgrade. Geopolymer’s made by mixing fly ash with alkali activator and regarded as an eco-friendly materials for soil stabilization and suitable for peat soil because its ability to resist in acid organic environment. In this research, NaOH and Na2SiO3 was selected as alkali activator. Using cement as additive in geopolymer can accelerate hardening process in room temperature. This research aims to find the optimum composition of the geopolymer hybrid for peat stabilization using the UCS (Unconfined Compressive Strength) test by varying the NaOH molarity. Variations of NaOH used in this research were 8M, 10M, and 12M with Na2SiO3/NaOH ratio of 1,5/1 and curing period of 7 and 14 days. Result of this research show that the highest compressive strength value is found in the variation of NaOH 8M aged 7 days with compressive strength of 24,24 kPa.Keywords: Peat, Stabilization, Geopolymer Hybrid, NaOH Molarity, UCS

Abstract

The airport is an air transportation facility which has now become an important part of the movement of people and goods. The growing Indonesian economy, especially the Riau Province and Pekanbaru City, also has a big role in increasing the use of airport facilities. All available facilities must meet service standards including the runway section for aircraft services. As aircraft movements increase every year, it is necessary to evaluate the operational side of pavement conditions, so this study aims to analyze the PCN value of the runway using the ACN-PCN comparison method for the B737-900 ER aircraft. Based on a report issued by the Ministry of Transportation, the PCN value of the existing runway is 66/F/B/X/T. The results of the evaluation using COMFAA show that in 2025, the runway structure needs to be improved to serve the movement of the B737-900 ER aircraft in 2025 which has a PCN value of 48 F/B/X/T, while the ACN value of the aircraft is 49,8 with a total aircraft movement of reaching 69,369 aircraft per year. Abstract

Microstrip antenna is a sensor and monitoring technology that is currently developing rapidly. In the medical field, microstrip antennas have been widely used. This study presents an implantable microstrip antenna that is implanted in the human body for medical applications. The antenna is designed to work in the MICS frequency band (402-405 MHz) using Roger RT Duroid 6010 substrate material (εr = 10.2 and thickness 0.635 mm). The implanted antenna is designed using a spiral miniaturization technique with a radius of 6.74 mm to maintain its dimensions at low frequencies. The implant antenna was simulated using a phantom (skin, fat, muscle) using the CST Studio Suite simulation software. From the simulation results, the return loss value is -17.794, the gain directivity achieved is -47.71 dBi and the VSWR achieved is 1.2619 and the bandwidth is 136.95 MHz. Abstract

Some industries involve the welding process at the production stage. Currently in the practice widely used is SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) due to requires electrical energy as the heat source. In another line, that process produced residual stress since speed of cooling time is diffference between based metal and welded region. In this study, PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) proposes to apply as solution in reduce the effect of residual stress. The method is the welded material reheated on temperature 450oC, 550 oC , and 650 during 1 hour in the furnace and cooled in it. The results showed at the highest heating temperature, elongation of welded material increase 22%, the hardness in the welding region decreased to 160 VHN while in the HAZ area the hardness was an improvement to 140 VHN, and the micro observations showed a structure after PWHT more uniform. It could be concluded that PWHT has succeeded in increasing the ductility of the welded materials. Key words : welded, PWHT, SMAW

Abstract

The development of data telecommunications with high speed and wide coverage is currently getting higher and higher. Therefore a reliable network can provide a network with large bandwidth and capacity which is called Radio Over Fiber (ROF). Radio Over Fiber (ROF) is a combination of Radio Frequency (RF) and optical fiber-based communication, where ROF uses optical fiber as an intermediary medium. This study designed a ROF that operates at a frequency of 5.8 GHz using Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) techniques for the application of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The parameters considered in this research simulation are the value of BER, Q-Factor, and eye diagram using optisystem software. Based on the results of the analysis, the best BER on the 8-QAM modulation technique with a distance of 50 km is 9.02362 x 10-13 and the Q-Factor is 7.00782. Abstract

Domestic demand for furfural is increasing in line with industrial developments such as the paint, oil, pharmaceutical, plastic and polymer industries. Until now, Indonesia's furfural needs still rely on imports from other countries. Fufural is produced using agricultural waste containing pentosan, such as rice husks, corn cobs, wood, hemp, bagasse, empty fruit bunches and other sources of fiber. Indonesia is a country rich in resources that have the potential to produce raw materials for fufural production, one of which is empty fruit bunches with a pentosan content of 25.90%. The number of empty bunches of waste throughout Indonesia in 2004 had reached 18.2 million tons. . The main design tool is an evaporator (EV-101) which functions to concentrate furfural up to 98% purity. This design was carried out in several steps, namely collecting data sources to support the establishment of the factory, calculating mass and energy balances, calculating heat and mass exchange networks, as well as analyzing and designing furfural evaporators and their supporting accessories. The operating conditions for evaporator 101 (EV-101) are with a feed temperature of 90°C and a pressure of 1 bar and a vapor temperature of 125°C. The type of evaporator used is Long Tube Vertical Evaporator. The evaluation of the economic analysis of the factory design shows that the factory is feasible to build with a Return On Investment (ROI) of 26.65%, Break Event Point (BEP) of 35%, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.74%, and Payback Period. Abstract

In the cultivation of oyster mushrooms, special care is needed because oyster mushrooms are susceptible to disease, so that fungal growth will be inhibited, one of which is temperature and humidity which can affect fungal growth. Current technological developments make it easier to carry out oyster mushroom cultivation treatments. That is by adjusting the temperature and humidity automatically in the cultivation room. With automatic temperature and humidity control can facilitate maintenance and minimize the failure of oyster mushroom production. In this paper, an Internet of Things (IoT) system is created by reading and adjusting the temperature and humidity conditions of the oyster mushroom kumbung. NodeMCU is used as a microcontroller integrated with WiFi module to connect to the database. The sensor used is DHT11 for temperature and humidity readings. The android application is made using the Web-based MITAPPINVENTOR. The temperature of the oyster mushroom kumbung is maintained between 24 - 28ºC with fan and lamp actuators. The humidity of the kumbung is kept above 80%. The results of oyster mushrooms using IoT have better quality than mushrooms without an Internet of Things (IoT) system. Abstract

The protection system identifies the disturbance that occurs and separates the affected part of the disorder from other parts that are working normally. The main protection equipment of the power transformer is a differential relay that works with the current balance method that is in accordance with the law of kirchoff current that is, the current that goes equal to the current leaving the branch point. The method used in this study is the collection of secondary data at Garuda Sakti Substation, as well as doing modeling and simulation with ETAP 16.0 software. From the simulation obtained the result that differential relay is inactive when there is an external interference in transformer 1 and transformer 3 due to differential relay work selectively. At the time of internal disturbance in transformer 1, Relay 1 at 2.0 ms feels the disturbance and works. The disruption resulted in relay 9 sending trip signals on CB1 and CB2 at 40 ms. At 42 ms CB1 and CB2 were active to disconnect the network. At the time of internal interference in transformer 3, then at 1.0 ms relay feels the disturbance so that the relay sends a trip signal on CB5 and CB6 at 40 ms. At 41 ms CB1 and CB2 time is active by sending trip signals to CB.Keywords : Protection System, Power Transformer, Differential Relay

Abstract

The Tande River is a river that flows in the Tande watershed that passes through Daik Lingga Village, with a sub-watershed area of 765 ha. Generally, rivers in Lingga Regency flow in hilly areas so they are covered with forest plants and during the rainy season there are frequent overflows of several rivers. For this reason, as a river that has the potential to overflow, an analysis is carried out regarding the capacity of the Tande River. In order to carry out the simulation, the planned flood discharge at the 25-year return period was calculated using the Nakayasu Synthetic Unit Hydrograph method, with a flowrate of 40.333 m3/s as the result. The results of the calculation of the planned flood discharge in the 25 year return period is used as input to the simulation of the water level profile in the Tande river in the same period, using HEC-RAS 4.1.0. From the simulation results of the water level profile on the Tande River, the results obtained that the planned flood discharge for the 25 year return period overflowed in 24 cross sections with flood heights ranging from 14-46 cm.
