Abstract

The Durslin Watershed is one of the watersheds located on Singkep Island, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province with an area of 99.80 km2. In accordance with Permen PUPR (2018), the Lingga Regency River Area is in the medium-critical zone. However, the local government plans to increase the irrigation areas as the highest contributor to the economy. The expansion of the irrigation area must be supported by an adequate water supply. So it is necessary to conduct research related to the irrigation water demand in the Durslin watershed. The method for determining evapotranspiration is using Penman-Monteith with calculations based on the KP-01. The analysis is then projected for the next twenty years to 2040. Result the research show that the demand for irrigation water is always increasing every year. In 2021 irrigation water demand is 0.1022 m3/sec, while irrigation water demand in 2040 is 0.2922 m3/sec.Keywords: irrigation, watershed, water demand

Abstract

The design of an ethylene plant from cracking naphtha using the MaxEne process aims to assess the feasibility of the plant for establishment. The ethylene plant is designed with a capacity of 155,000 tons/year. Naphtha, which is the main raw material for obtaining products ethylene according to capacity and the production process used is MaxEne where The MaxEne unit is a new and innovative process for optimizing naphtha steam cracker operations and catalytic reform. The main product of ethylene is obtained through separation using a absorption tower wet scrubber with an operating condition of 60 oC at a pressure of 5 bar where the bottom product is H2S separated from cracked gas at top product which is including ethylene in it. This factory is planned to be established in 2023 near Pertamina RU II Dumai, Riau. Based on the results of economic analysis and factory feasibility, Cumulative Cash Ratio (CCR) is 2,2, a pay back period is 3,46 years and a rate of return on investment (ROROI) of 34,4% for non-discounted techniques. Based on the results of economic analysis, the pre-design of the ethylene plant with a capacity of 155,000 tons/year is feasible to consider its establishment. Abstract

Used oil is a potential alternative fuel and can reduce the waste of used oil. Used oil utilization has been carried out at The Production Technology Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Riau University on modified diesel engines. The problem is that the resulting emissions still exceed the quality standard at a power load of 2000 W. In the present work, CO2 emission produced by Dongfeng R175 diesel engine with the mixed used oil and dexlite as alternative fuels was investigated. A total of three fuel samples, such as D10 (10% dexlite), D20 (20% dexlite), D30 (30% dexlite) respectively are used. CO2 emissions were analyzed with varied power loads, starting at idle, 1000 W, and 2000 W. The result was analyzed using a Microsoft Excel application with graphical output of the emission levels. The results showed that the best mixture was D10 where the highest loading power of 2000 W produced CO2 emission of 2,5%. While the highest CO2 emission produced by the D30 mixture at a power load of 2000 W of 6,6%.Keywords : Diesel Engine, Used Oil, Dexlite, Exhaust Emissions, CO2.

Abstract

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Early detection is the best solution for cancer treatment. One of the most promising technologies in the field of medical diagnosis is Ultra-wideband (UWB) microwave imaging technology, because it does not have ionizing properties (Non-Ionizing) and low cost. This paper will propose the design of flexible antenna for brain tumor detections. The proposed antenna is designed using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as a substrate. The simulation results show flexible antenna is work at 5.8 GHz frequency with -29.54 dB value of return loss, 1.06 value of VSWR, 3.1 GHz bandwidth at frequency range of 4.78-7.88 GHz. The radiation pattern is bidirectional and its gain is 2.34 dB. Keywords: Brain tumor detections, Flexible antenna, polydimethylsiloxane, ultra-wideband.

Abstract

Arithmetic is a branch of mathematics that deals with 4 basic operations, namely addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Arithmetic lessons are very important because this knowledge will be used until adulthood for daily activities, but children or elementary school students have difficulty solving arithmetic problems. Based on research conducted by Phonapichat (2014) on grade 5 and 6 elementary school students, it is known that there are five student difficulties in solving math problems, some of which are, 1) Every student who does not understand the problem, they tend to guess the answer without thinking about it first. 2) Students are impatient and do not like to read math problems. 3) Students do not like to read very long problems. It is hoped that by using video games as a medium for learning arithmetic problem solving, children will put more effort into solving arithmetic problems. Because of the research conducted by (Norlita et al., 2020) obtained data from 75 respondents of elementary school students in grades 5 and 6 who play games on gadgets by 100%, often play games on gadgets by 45.3%, and play games more than 2 hours by 41.3%.. The author uses a maze so that the player cannot just choose a path because the player will be hit by a trap that has been prepared if the wrong path is chosen. To complete the level of the game, the player must get to the end point of the level. But to get to the end point, players must find the right path by answering arithmetic questions correctly. Abstract

The substation is are an important part of the electric power system to distribute electric power to other substations. Substations have the potential to experience disturbances, one of which is lightning strikes and overcurrents. To avoid the possibility of dangerous interference, the substation must have a grounding system that meets safe standards for equipment and people around the substation’s area. The grounding system is a part of the electric power system which has the function of grounding in the event of a disturbance. In this study, the construction method (grid-rod) was used to analyze the grounding system at the 150 kV Maninjau substation. From the calculation results, the total fault current is 1732 A, the grounding grid resistance is 0.115 Ω, the mesh voltage value is 42,96 V, the permissible touch voltage is 991.1 V, the step voltage is 103.92 V and the permissible step voltage is 3298.2 V. The total length of conductors for the earthing grid used is 3390,5 m with 11 conductors parallel to the X axis and 23 parallel to the Y axis. Keyword : substation, fault, grounding, grid-rod

Abstract

Network quality is the ability of an enterprise data network management system to meet or exceed user expectations by providing the desired functionality or desired information in a reliable, predictable, repeatable, and timely manner. The registration unit at the Puskesmas is a place to register or record the patient data to receive the health services they need. In this case, the registration of the patient's name at the Puskesmas will be recorded in the Simpus, which has been bridged with BPJS Healthy, so that patient data can be easily known about their history of health services that have been received. The Quality of the network in the Puskesmas' registration unit is evaluated with the Quality of Service (QoS) parameter where the Axence Net Tools 5 was used to measure the performance of the Network Link in the Puskesmas. In addition, network monitoring is done to determine the delay. Delay is the length of time required by the data to transfer information. It can be affected by physical media distance, congestion, or length of processing time. The delay measurement can be calculated by knowing the total time of data sending, then divided by the total packets data received, which is the TIPHON version of the delay category. The result of the study found that network quality of bridging P-Care and Simpus by using QoS Parametric in Delay was categorized as bad with total number 469ms. This means that the delay occurs because of congestion that uses network services exceeding the capacity that can be received by a data communication line and attenuation, which weakens the signal due to long distances.Keyword: Parameter QoS, Standart TIPHONE, Delay

Abstract

The automation machine technology has been widely developed to help overcome the problems in manufacturing performance. One of the developed machines were the 3D Printer machine that can be used in various professional work fields. One of the machines developed by Riau University students is a 3D Printer machine called the CNC Hybrid 3-Axis Machine. However, there has been no research to examine whether this machine is safe to operate. Thus, the author took the initiative to determine the quality of the mechanical structure on the machine frame. Structural analysis studies and determines the effects of loads on physical structures and their components. The method used for the research on the mechanical structure of this machine is through manual calculation analysis and finite element method analysis using the Autodesk Inventor 2018 application. Each analysis is carried out on every part of the machine that experiences movement in the direction of the X-Axis, Y-Axis and Z-Axis parts, the frame and the machine legs. Through the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the maximum stress that occurs in the X-axis slider frame is 30.687 MPa from manual calculations and 29.81 MPa from the Autodesk Inventor simulation. The maximum deflection value occurs in the engine frame and the largest maximum deflection value occurs at the slider of X-Axis with a value of 0,3543 mm. By comparing the results of manual structural analysis and finite element analysis simulations, it can be seen that the structural frame has a safety factor value above 15 so it is safe to use and operate in the future. Abstract

Energy auditing is one of the steps made in an effort to realize energy saving programs. The energy widely used in the pulp and paper industries is thermal energy (steam) and electrical energy. Pulp drying is one of the processes that many use such energy. The thermal energy used was of low to medium pressurized steam, which used to increase air temperature to dry pulp sheet. Research were conducted to identified energy usage and potency of energy saving in pulp machine especially in Pulp machine 1 and 2 area. The results of the study were found the influence of downtime to production cost. 30 minutes down time will increase production cost to $0.3545/ton pulp. Used of acacia as raw material will make pulp machine possible to run 1 screening system. It give benefit $ 2180.8 per day. Besides, the study also found four “steam trap” units and six “valve” units with “Passing" (leaking)” conditions that made “losses steam” of 467.8 Kg/hr or 1,467 tons of steam/year or about IDR 240.051,840 in a year. The inverse improvements/recovery of “steam trap” positions can save steam with a saving percentage of 0,34% of total steam costs per year and will return investment capital for four hours. Whereas the turnover on leaked “steam trap” units could save steam of 2,574 tons of steam/year with a savings percentage of 0.60% of total steam cost per year and would return investment capital for four months.Keyword: Electricity, Energy Audit, Pulp Dryer, Steam

Abstract

Along with the times and the rapid growth of technology created by humans, many ideas and ideas from building experts have emerged to research further about the nature and characteristics of the soil according to their respective types. In accordance with the topic of this research, the type of soil that will be studied further is soft soil. This study aims to determine the statistical relationship between physical characteristics and mechanical characteristics based on the parameter values obtained from dokenbo dan vane shear. In this study, an experiment was conducted to find the characteristics of soft soil in Rokan Hilir Regency using dokenbo and vane shear tools directly in the field, it is hoped that dokenbo dan vane shear have a relationship that can be compared later. Furthermore, the physical properties of the soft soil will be tested in the laboratory in order to determine the property value of the soft soil itself. The test was carried out at 30 points spread over several locations in Rokan Hilir Regency. From this research, the shear strength (Su) of the dominant vane shear is 16-20 kPa, with an overall value range of 4-34 kPa. The dominant dokenbo penetration value range is 301-400 kN/m2, with an overall value range of 158-1430 kN/m2. The dominant dokenbo shear angle value range is 21 o-25 o, with an overall value range of 9-41 o. Based on the correlation results, the penetration value is directly proportional to the Su value, the correlation between penetration and shear angle has a very low relationship, the correlation between penetration and physical properties has a low relationship.
