Abstract

Development of the era that followed by the change in lifestyle of modern society makes the competition in the higher areas of the business. The impact of this competition seen in the field of spa business. Beauty and health care needs that initially was limited to only requirement is now considered a lifestyle of upper class society. Not only adults but children were also able to obtain health and beauty care with full facilities from head to toe. With the interior design of the Health and Beauty Care for Baby and Kids in Surabaya infants and children are pampered with full amenities ranging from hair care, massage and swimming, as well as manicure-pedicure. This design took the theme of "Cheerful" which means fun in the design which is expected to create a fun atmosphere that can support treatments for infants and children. Application of these themes led to the play of colors and shapes as well as comfortable and clean impression which became the focal point of this design. With the background of want to bring a complete treatments place for infants and children, the interior design of the Health and Beauty Care for Baby and Kids is expected to provide a supportive comfort and satisfaction of visitors, especially for babies and kids can feel happy and relaxed.

Abstract

Office’s lighting is one of important aspect that can improve residents’ performance. Sequislife Office is located in Intiland Tower building where this building is one of the eco-friendly architecture and it designed to be a building that cares for the physical and mental health of its residents. However, at this office, the artificial lighting is more dominant than the natural lighting, where this thing is not supported the Green Building concept of Intiland Tower building itself, and the artificial lighting in this building is also not conformed the standard. Through the quantitative research methods, the effectiveness systems research and its application to the office lighting is based on the concept of Sequislife environmentally friendly, and the acquisition of light intensity will be compared with the Indonesian National Standard. Optimizing light through a simulation program is one of the ways in which to obtain the appropriate light intensity of existing standards and expected to maximize the performance of future occupants of the office.

Abstract

Design of Art & Craft Center in Surabaya Indonesia is means to introduce one of Indonesian art, which is Seni Kriya that is derived from all regions in Indonesia. This project is expected to attract the public to know what Seni Kriya  are, thus it will not be forgotten and be able to evolve as part of the creative industry in the international market. This design concept is "Peoples Park". Park means “a fun /entertaining place”, and people means “a population of a country ”, with the intent that this art & craft center will be a fun and entertaining means to the society. The concept implementation focusing on selection of natural materials, and space circulation that are connected to each other. The scope of this design include the Gallery as a major facility, the store / souvenir shop and workshops as a means of supporting.The gallery and workshop provides information and knowledge for visitors. Store facilities focusing on marketing, selling the craft products.

Abstract

Cultural values as a nation identity increasingly more faded, even almost forgotten by the people of Indonesia. Technological advances and the development of the information society makes intensified focus his attention to a variety of technology products on the various objects of the culture of the nation.Popo Danes was one of the architects of Indonesia who have a love of culture, particularly the culture of Bali. Popo Danes many apply the love into many works of architecture. The problem is, in modern times it is today, its rare we see buildings that identifies the culture of Indonesia. This research aims to study the cultural values of applied nation Indonesia, especially Bali culture of the three objects of study draft Popo Danes are selected, using the concept of traditional building restrictions 5 Bali as a benchmark . The result analysis shows 2 conclusion. The first conclusion, the three objects of study having differences in the application of the concept of traditional Balinese building. And the second conclusion suggests that Popo Danes has always implemented the concept of the traditional Balinese buildings in every design, though in varying levels from one building to the other buildings.

Abstract

Srimulat is one artist that is very popular comedy group from Surabaya and people enjoy doing in the 1980s. Wax sculpture is a sculpture made of wax in the melt up to 74 degrees Celsius and a means of supporting the display. For it is necessary to have a tool that can provide a facility to introduce Srimulat with a wax sculpture gallery. In this thesis, the author discusses about the design of a wax sculpture gallery that presents an atmosphere Srimulat periodically and information - information about Srimulat. Taking the concept of "Journey As A Comedian Friend" which is a concept Srimulat journey from the beginning, and to the glorious era terakhinya Srimulat, starting from the creation of space in order to attract visitors by optimizing modern design combined with a pop art style. Srimulat wax figure sculpture gallery is expected to be one - the only place that provides a means of education and introduce Srimulat again to be remembered by the people of Surabaya and Indonesia.

Abstract

Aspects of the history contained in the objects of memorabilia compiled as the basis for designing the restaurant to establish an atmosphere and a restaurant marketing competitiveness. Memorabilia itself has a meaning as something that is kept because it is associated with a past history. This concept aims to bring back the atmosphere that existed in 1914-1940 to the present day in the city of Malang. So the effect of that has been adapted to colonial Javanese culture and art deco style design reinforces this concept.

Abstract

Batik is Indonesia’s most famous culture product, well known by both local community and international society. Unfortunately the art of batik nowadays is abandoned and underestimated by the Indonesian itself especially by the youngsters because batik has been regarded old and out of date. One of the ways to attract people’s interest in batik is creating a place, in this case is a shop or batik gallery with modern but featuring Indonesia cultures element as well, therefore it fascinates the visitors to come for admiring and even purchasing the batik products.In this Batik Semar Gallery’s interior design in Surabaya, there are facilities such as retail shop of Batik Semar batik cloth, apparel, and accessories or souvenir and workshop space of batik cloth processing purposely shown to the visitors where they can watch and even take part in producing the batik. By this design, the art of batik is expected to be regarded with different perspective and more positively from before and likewise appealed foreign visitors as tourists’ attraction.

Abstract

From the survey that was held by KPPOD on 2009, it was discovered that Semarang ranked 13th place among 15 metropolitan cities in Indonesia. This situation inspires city officials to do an all-around development. The key for a successful development in a region is the human resources, but in Indonesia where not everyone could afford to have a proper education it became difficult to attain this goal. In this situation library held an important role, because the main principle of a library is the equity to access information for everyone, no matter what gender, nationality, age, education and status they have. But, Central Java Library and Archive as the main library in Semarang still has some issues left unresolved. This redesign aim to analyze all the problems that’s happening on the building and looking for the right solution for it, while on the other hand keep maintaining all the roles that this building held, whether as Public Library, Regional Library, or as Government Building, to be fulfilled. Those roles demanded a building which accessible to everyone, facilitate all kinds of visitors, prioritizing the health of building’s users, preserving the environment, also could represent the identity of Central Java at the same time.

Abstract

Traditional culture has potential to attract tourists to come to one city. But along with the times, the traditional culture will extinct so we  need the effort to preserve them. In this day, culture and culinary is not an easy thing to find, more over just for a vacation. This Makassar’s restaurant interior desaign purposes is to give an information about Makassar’s culture through interior design that applied to the restaurant and to gives a taste of traditional cuisine of Makassar. Indonesia has a lot of culture, one of them is Makassar culture. For a foodies, this would be very nice to know about Makassar Traditional cuisine.
