Abstract

Nowadays, store-based retailing is one of the most popular businesses. Fierce competition requires retailers to be able to accommodate customer’s needs with high integrity and competitive interior design at the modest price. Design shall be flexible and adaptive to the changes. Therefore, it is essential to make a furniture design which enhances the efficiency and effectiveness value that leads to the convenience of the users. It would be only achieved by conducting a thorough survey as well as a comprehensive study literature of the layout basics, furniture design types and terms, construction systems, and alternatives studies of styles and materials selection. Thus the formula will be obtained in the form of provisions in the good design of a flexible furniture, that will be applied in the design for shoes and bags retail.

Abstract

Dayak is one of the ethnic groups in Indonesia which has a fairly high cultural value. Among the many ethnic groups in Indonesia, the Dayak tribes became the oldest and the only original tribes of Borneo. Dayak tribe has its own traditions and cultural traits, namely as a tradition that has always been their ancestral worship; body or merajak tradition known as tattoos, which are now known as “Borneo Tattoo” society;, the tradition of letting their ears, and much more to culture and traditions. But the tradition and culture that the rich are now extinct, they had long abandoned their traditions and culture. The appointment of these themes to cultural traditions and reintroduced the Dayak community to Indonesia with the existence or the more modern packaging however contain cultural values in it.

Abstract

Peniel Church is one of the examples of buildings that have been acculturated by the Balinese culture. Acculturation is a social process that arises when a group of people with a particular culture are exposed to the elements of a foreign culture so foreign element else it is gradually accepted and processed into the culture itself without causing the loss of cultural identity. Peniel Church Blimbingsari so this is one that deserves to be studied object uniqueness, whether the influences that occur after the prior acculturation acculturation, and what are the underlying philosophy-filosfi acculturation on the Blimbingsari Peniel Church. By using interpretivism, it will show the acculturation of spatial, sanctity, and cultural influences occur at Peniel Church Blimbingsari-Bali. Of the analysis will be able to prove that the Peniel Church Blimbingsari is a product design that has been acculturated between Balinese culture and Western culture.

Abstract

Clans Tolaki and Wolio are two very prominent clans in Southeast Sulawesi island implement cultural value system when building a house to live in or homes to gather, the so-called cosmological natural divisions and division which refers to the body anlogi. Formation and function of the existing interior in Tolaki tribal house and tribal house Wolio is and should be maintained so that the ancestral culture does not disappear. Custom home at the time now many are not treated, so the meaning of the form and function of the interior tribes and tribal Wolio Tolaki no longer fully contain customary meaning as changes induced in ancestral times so when direkrontuksi is no such customary rules and regulations. Basics of notching custom home design and the meaning of the formation and function are the things that should be known of the two tribes and tribal tribes Tolaki Wolio through qualitative research methods. Notching custom home construction arrangement of these families is very evident in the distribution and pemaknaanya, so when building a house it seems clear that there is an analogy of the body is contained in either house of the arrangement and structure.

Abstract

In this era globalization, parents treat an occupation as the main priority of all because an increase in daily necessities. As a result, parents are lack of caring to their children. Therefore, an alternative is needed to replace parent’s role at home. One of the alternative is using a nanny as mother’s helper to take care of their children. However, in fact, many of unexpected things happen, children are kidnapped and abandoned by their nanny. Eventually, many of parents take a decision to enter their children to school under the standard age. Moreover, a high technology development causes children lack of exercise because they prefer to play games rather than to exercise. Another effect of technology is a lack of social life. Hence, they become more individualism.Methodology planning is started from collecting data which includes direct survey, literature data, and typology. The next observations can be an interview, a study research at the same object and last but not least is methodology analysis, which is started from planning program until final design. The interior design of  kids center in Malang is using the concept of jungle, which helps children to interact directly to animals, plants and their friendsThe application concept of kids center  can be shown in each room. The room for 3 to 6 months old is using bird theme, 7 months old to 1 years old’s room using squirell theme, the room for 2 to 3 years old is using fish theme, and then the room for 4  to 5 years room is using giraffe theme. The playing area for 2 to 5 years old is using the garden theme, for the dining room is designed by using mushroom theme, and the playground area is using monkey theme. In order to enlarge the space for children, the room is designed to have less furniture. Rooms are also designed to have a big ventilation so lights and natural air cycle or wind are maximized. Vinyl, carpet, multipleks with water based finishing or HPL are the materials. All appliances that applied are useful for brain storming for the children’s creativity and knowledge.

Abstract

Wedding House which is located in Surabaya, is a wedding service design project. In this design, all of the facilities will be provided in one area so that the bride and groom do not need a lot of time for searching the wedding needs. These facilities are wedding organizer, invitation and souvenir area, tarts area, decoration and lighting area, documentation, bridal and salon, accessories area, and ballroom. These areas will be applied as retails and serving the special needs for the wedding. Of differences the character of each area, Wedding House will merge into a single concept that would create characters from Wedding House itself. Wedding House will be designed according the style of western wedding. Therefore, form application and interior’s character will be design in modern style. By applying the one-stop wedding service system, Wedding House will focus on efficiency and productivity of work so that fulfill the wedding needs.

Abstract

Surabaya City has a good prospect in the culinary sector  such as, opening a restaurant business, looking at the people who make the food as a culinary tour. This consuming lifestyle has become a trend proofed by the surabaya’s busy culinary business both day and night. From this perspective then, the restaurant can be used as a media to inform to the public about the ecological design.In the city of Surabaya is seldom to find a restaurant that take Ecological Design in their concept. In support of sustainable design, that the restaurant need have to the applicate the ecological design. Apart from being a place to eat, as well as providing information to the community and the effect on the environment, especially natural lighting.

Abstract

Restaurant bussiness is one of the most developed and popular today, especially in big cities. Therefore, businesses are competing to attract the attention of the public, not only of the dishes served, but also the atmosphere and the interior of the restaurant is unique and interesting. One of the restaurant’s interior that attracts attention is the Dae Jang Geum restaurant Yogyakarta, because the restaurant is adapting very interesting culture, the culture of Korea, in particular the form of the Kingdom of Korea, namely during the Joseon Dynasty, established in July 17, 1392 and it is this that makes restaurant this looks interesting and different from other restaurants. The subject of this research focused on aspects of the meaning, function, and form the interior of the restaurant by using “descriptive qualitative” research method that performs a number of ways, namely interviews, field surveys, and literature. The results showed that the interior application of Dae Jang Geum restaurant get Korean cultural influence can be seen in the interior design and their functions and forms of decorative elements that contain a lot of meaning and mixed with Javanese culture, a little bit precisely in the main area of this restaurant, because it is influenced by aspects this neighborhood restaurant is located in the area of Java.

Abstract

Surabaya City is one of big metropolitan city in Indonesia that known as Hero City because of its historical battle value at the past that give a big role to the independence of Indonesia. However, there are few places that can attract people to appreciate the struggle of the past generation that fought for Indonesia’s freedom. As the city grows, so many shopping centers built as recreation center and the impact is that historical recreation is not attractive for local people anymore. With designing a recreation place about Surabaya in past time by using diorama concept that show the old town of Surabaya in the colonial age and adapt people’s modern lifestyle nowadays, the designer hope that the people, especially in Surabaya City, will appreciate more and have a good knowledge about history of Surabaya City and be proud to our heroes in this city.

Abstract

Global warming is one of thephenomenon forms due today environmental problems,so that green design as an answer to respond environmental issues and human inside. Embodiment of green design into a building are important, but people still lack awareness of it. Therefore, we need a place that is environmentally friendly, educating, and can transmit eco friendly lifestyle for the public.This interior design implementing green design aspects with the facilities such as galleries, workshop, consultation area, office, cashier, and receptionist with the application of nature as the conceptthat has the character which is purity, diversity, dynamic, and openness. Green design aspects with the concept of nature is applied to the layout arrangement, natural colors, diversity of shapes for the furniture and elements of interior, eco friendly materials, lighting, and energy efficiency ventilation. Design method used is analysis method. Through this design,can provide a Green Product Centre interior designthat environmentally friendly, educating, and can improve the eco friendly lifestyle for the whole community.
