Abstract

Theology school is a school that engaged in Christianity and aims to educate the students to be a God-fearing and could become a servant of God as an evangelist, teacher or have a soul, to feed the church later. While the Manado area, the majority of the Christian faith is a religion, which the teachings of the ancestors is already believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the true Savior, so that up to now they are still hereditary inherited this belief, both in terms of the government to reach the public.The method used is the method of field studies and direct observations as well as literature, due to the direct observation we get to know the situation on the ground directly and with the literature we can find out what will be required in the design of this school.This design response to emerging issues in the tackle global warming problem, it will be made a theological school design green design concept in the design which will use the material or materials that are environmentally friendly, as well as the use of energy and resources efficiently, thereby also preserves the environment, in which we are living on this earth has the obligation to protect the environment around us.

Abstract

Expression and Appreciation interior design center for Indie Community in Surabaya "or called Indie Art Center is a place for the artists to express themselves and work as well as to gain an appreciation of the general public to provide direct observation and appreciation of works of art proficiency level. Indie art center based in East Java, which is located in the city of Surabaya is expected to accommodate a variety of work and creativity of the indie community can accommodate diversity event showcases. Indie Art Center's design with the theme sounds of change refers to the fighting spirit of the indie community to speak out loud and express their feelings, opinions and aspirations that contain the propaganda messages that are not directly bring changing to the world for the better world.

Abstract

Nowadays the Javanese traditional children’s games have started erased its existence. The development of technology, traditional games is now considered less interesting and have started being replaced with more modern toys and electronic toys. Whereas traditional game has many benefits for the development and growth of the child. With the presence of the museum of traditional children's games are expected to introduce Java back knowledge about all kinds of Javanese traditional children's games, as well as cultural values embodied in the traditional game. The design concept being used is the game gobak sodor. Gobak sodor is a group game and competition. While applications in materials, colors, furniture and interior, which are extracted from human motion playing gobak sodor, and competition in the game that is the opposite of games as well as paying attention to the museum's main target function is intended for children. Adoption of these applications can be seen from the use and incorporation of dynamic and static forms, warm colours, namely orange that gives the impression of a dynamic, cheerful and uplifting and cold colours green gave the impression, tranquility and natural shade, natural materials of wood, parquet, bamboo and artificial materials include carpeting, pipe, and glass. In addition, applying local Javanese culture through elements of interior  batik motifs.

Abstract

Y.B. Mangunwijaya is known from his architectural and interior designed with emphasis in wastu citra, a design that fulfill the function of the building also the beauty which is created with the truth. Among of his works, the dominant of his design are the worship spaces. Santa Perawan Maria di Fatima church; interior relief in Panti Semedi chapel; Santa Maria Assumpta church; Angin Mammiri seminary; Santo Albertus Magnus Jetis church and chapel are chosen as the sample. This study used qualitative methods. All data were found with literature studies and interviews. The function of this study are to know the concept background and the application of Y.B. Mangunwijaya’s concept in this worship space. The results of this study indicate that the interior design style of worship space that Y.B. Mangunwijaya’s design relate with the value of Vatican II’s, churches that open to the world. Also Y.B. Mangunwijaya uses diaspora church concept or churches that relate with Java cultural value, which is a new idea results from the mix between Y.B. Mangunwijaya’s background as an architect with an emphasis on wastu citra, wastu widya, and the values of the Christianity as well as Y.B. Mangunwijaya’s understanding of the traditional architectural style Java that is harmony with the natural environment. With this, Christianity value becomes harmony with the culture surround it.

The sales information center and community devoted to the Lamborghini car lovers in Surabaya area. Its design concept is to get to know the place where intended, understand history as well as spare parts sales, car servicing lambhorghini and provide a gathering place for community lambhorghini car in Surabaya and surrounding areas. Facilities that will be made include receptionist, showroom area, service area, café, lounge, multipurpose room and toilet. It is developed by bringing together all the facilities for the lovers or people who want to know about a car lambhorghini in Surabaya

Abstract

According to a research that has been studied by WHO (World Health Organization), as many as 800.000 people commit suicide every year, which means that in every 40 seconds, one person dies by commiting suicide. Mental illness such as depression, anxiety disorders, and other illnesses are often caused by stress. Even though being stressed is considered normal, if the conditions become worse, it would give negative impacts to the body, and one of them is suicide. Brain Rest Area exists with a purpose to create ambiences and interior systems that would help stressed people feel better, and also provide education about the importance of mental health, so the public would be able to empathize with the stressed people. Brain Rest Area design applies the biophilic and healing environment design methods, supported by human-centered design and empathic design approaches. The result of this design concludes that Brain Rest Area can be an alternative facility for the stressed people, supported by the programs that help stress’ healing process, such as non-medical (cognitive) therapies in feeling rooms, pillow pools, clinics, volunteer booths, meditation, and other facilities, with the concept of Brain Rest Area itself that focusses on giving a rest to the brain, by relieving fatigue and giving relaxing moments for the stressed people.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the style of design information and applied scientific of Vintage style on interior of the cafe in Surabaya object as an object of research and publications. The method used is descriptive qualitative triangulation techniques supported by collecting multiple sources of scientific and popular literature to find a sense of style Vintage design. The results of this study found scientific sense style Vintage design and applied of Vintage style to  interior cafe in Surabaya, then publishes reportage Vintage style cafe interior with popular books and mini movies as a means of education and information regarding the style Vintage design and applied to the interior of the cafe in Surabaya.

It is therefore necessary to have a facility that can train and support their abilities and talents. The planned facility is a dance studio, auditorium, lobby, shops, cafes, and galleries.

Abstract

MINI is a small car produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original model of the car is considered as the icon of the British in the 1960s. The design concept in this design is "Branding in Perfection" which means that this concept carries the branding image as a concept, and perfection means we bring perfection in design in accordance with the philosophy of the meaning of the logo of MINI. The theme of the design is contemporary design, means the design style of the room is influenced by modern impression and always follows the latest design trend, but comfortable and functional as well.

Abstract

Food as the basic needs of human life has made the culinary world a developing business. With the design of culinary school facilities, the objective of this design project is to create an interior environemnt that can support the quality learning activities that can compete with the contemporary culinary world. This culinary school design project was inspired by the concept of "Back to Nature," which was implemented in the forms and colors containing elements of Nature, such as use of the wood, concrete and natural stone on the walls, furniture, roof, and floor. This concept was chosen in order to be able to solve the design problems such as the lack of space, the unclear grouping and circulation, and the unattractive interior atmosphere.
