Abstract

This design research has been performed in order to cater to the needs of users for personalized furniture that can adapt to the function desired by a variety of different users. Using production waste material from mango and acacia wood as the main materials, this design aims to prioritize efficiency in the use and production processes of the furniture industry.The methodology used for data collection and design compilation is the Design Thinking method, consisting of problem analysis, problem solving, design concept, design solution and application.The final result is documented through construction drawings and visualization in the form of furniture sets. Finally, the furniture is also equipped with branding attributes designed by the author for marketing purposes.

Abstract

Factors of concern to the elderly be family problems because of the busyness and routines. The elderly often feel ignored by family members because of the bustle of their son or grandson, and it makes the elderly feel careless, dan less communicating.The purpose of this design is to provide a temporary home for the elderly during their family members busy, which can became a new altenative for the Surabaya’s people. The concept of the design is CARE, which means giving warmth, feel save, comfort and can including all the physical and psychological differences from the elderly. The author expect the elderly can getting together and communicate with each other as well and get some entertainment or attention as long as they are in the elderly house.

Abstract

NBL Center is a place providing facilities in education and other facilities. Various facilities offered  gallery, theater, cafe, and so many more. Surabaya, has so many basketball lover, but the lack of a facility makes the basketball lover   hard to get into them. For lack of adequate facilities, and education facilities for youth basketball in surabaya.In the first phase and will use some methods. One thing that is required as data field that includes the physical and non-physical associated with estates although the progress relating to the end user, Typlogy comparison of the literary theories and other data to design basketball center. The data will be continued with a sketch of the concept.And you will find the final design.

Abstract

The health development of nowadays children is far different from children in the past. Children that are born in this modern era have bigger potential to suffer from the diseases that were once only suffered by adults such as obesity, diabetes, and stroke. The supporting factor are the diet of nowadays' instant lifestyle and the limited activities which occur due to the technology development. The design of  Children's Nutrient Information Center is one of the ways to help parents and especially children to introduce the healthy food and also to help them to learn cooking by providing food adventure center facility, cooking studio, library, and consultation room. The design concept is Healthy Spoon which aimed for a reminder to the children of the importance of eating healthy food through each spoon they eat form.

Abstract

Development of the era that followed by the change in lifestyle of modern society makes the competition in the higher areas of the business. The impact of this competition seen in the field of spa business. Beauty and health care needs that initially was limited to only requirement is now considered a lifestyle of upper class society. Not only adults but children were also able to obtain health and beauty care with full facilities from head to toe. With the interior design of the Health and Beauty Care for Baby and Kids in Surabaya infants and children are pampered with full amenities ranging from hair care, massage and swimming, as well as manicure-pedicure. This design took the theme of "Cheerful" which means fun in the design which is expected to create a fun atmosphere that can support treatments for infants and children. Application of these themes led to the play of colors and shapes as well as comfortable and clean impression which became the focal point of this design. With the background of want to bring a complete treatments place for infants and children, the interior design of the Health and Beauty Care for Baby and Kids is expected to provide a supportive comfort and satisfaction of visitors, especially for babies and kids can feel happy and relaxed.

Abstract

Sneakers are shoes made of rubber soles that have become a style now. Many people wear this shoes for their daily use to a variety of activities. By the time, kind of sneakers lovers community exploded in Indonesia, especially in Surabaya. These communities are found live in social network internet, there came a problem in this community that they doesn’t have a real place that specifically accommodate the activities of sneakers lovers.  The purpose of this interior design sneakers addict center is that sneakers lovers who had been living in the virtual world, now has a spesific place for their activities and make this facility as one of the icon places for sneakers lovers in Surabaya city that should be visited by the sneakers lovers from all over Indonesia, the concept Urban Authentic is connected with the history of sneakers and show up the authenticity of a brand image which is combined with industrial style. As expected that this facility could meet the needs and activities of sneakers lovers, especially in Surabaya.

Abstract

Walk-in closet is a closet large enough to walk inside to store clothes or other fashion objects. All fashion needs can be stored and attractively furnished in it. However, a walk-in closet requires a fairly wide area, while the living space now days is becoming increasingly limited. Thus, a it is in general can only be enjoyed by people with large enough living space. Therefore, it needs a storage that can effectively meet the growing needs of users. With the field survey and study of the literature on the design of a walk-in closet, the design of portable walk-in closet intended to meet the needs of fashion storage media to be more effective by most people, especially people who haves limited living space.

Abstract

Hok An Kiong chinese temple is the Tri Dharma’s place of worship in Surabaya city, East Java. The research was conducted at Kwan Kong god statue and interior elements contained in the temple’s main altar hall. This interior hall was designed by Fujian (Southern China) culture style and has been constructed since 1821 that are rich of original Chinese cultural values and historical values. The process of analysis using the iconography method by van Leeuwen, the purpose of this method is to determine the meaning of Kwan Kong god statue with first layer. The main function of Kwan Kong god statue physicaly as the worship orientation for the temple’s worshipers, but by iconography method shows the impact who manifested in some of the interior elements in the temple’s main altar hall.

Abstract

Interior Designing Healthy Reflexology and Fitness Center was made due with a growing era, more and more people are not concerned with health, while the burden of work they have to do that will ease the increasing occurrence of stress that makes the muscles become tense, nervous impaired, body poisons buried, substandard blood circulation resulting in reduced arousal works. Therefore health is a very important thing for the community.In order for the data collection to be valid then designed several methods of design methodologies such as observation (direct observation), interviews with the instructor, the library to get the theories that support the validity of field data, and documentation to supplement the data obtained.Through the concept of Paradise of Bali which is applied every related kinds of interior elements and furniture, people can find a comfortable and attractive place to do sports, and increase the motivation of the health visitor. In this design also provides adequate facilities to meet the needs of the community fitness facility.

Abstract

The advancement of fashion industry is growing rapidly, and every single society is fond of it. Attention is given on formal, informal, and even casual outfit. With the presence of Jakarta Fashion Week every year, people are able to see the diversity of fashion’s evolution. Hence, this Jakarta Fashion Week Museum Interior Design is expected to provide knowledge and educate the public visitors regarding the evolution of fashion trends in Indonesia. Moreover, it conveys a message to the world that Indonesia is able to compete in global fashion industry. The Harmony of Geometrical Shapes concept is what this design will put forth. Thus, the will-be-used interior is more towards simple and geometric formation. This geometric formation is used in order to make the displayed fashion looks more prominent and attractive. Supporting facilities in this design are the lobby, gift shop, retail shop, café, museum display and show area, which will make visitors comfortable.
