Abstract

Surabaya is one of many cities in Java that has many chinese descendant citizen. In the history of Surabaya, peranakan chinese have quite significant role especially in term of economics. However, history pertaining to the chinese tribe,  especially culture are rarely available and has been substantially marginalized during the Orde Baru period. This causes most of chinese descent, especially young people in the modern era do not know how the history of their ancentors. In addition, young people nowadays are increasingly losing their interest in learning about history because it is difficult to learn and tedious. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a recreative and innovative chinese historical center in Surabaya to introduce the history about Surabaya chinese descendant especially about economy, social, architecture, politic, and literature. Additionally, this historical center will also introduced about Java chinese descendant culture.

Abstract

Surabaya is a city with a thriving cultural variety with a pluralistic society where people in Surabaya is more modern that easy to accept new things that developed in the community. Museum is a public place so that the necessary interior educative and informative and can be used as a sports-themed Indonesian films. The purpose of designing the interior of the film museum in Surabaya this is a venue to preserve Indonesian films and give knowledge to the people of Surabaya on the world of cinema and introduce the films made in Indonesia that Indonesian people not only know the movies made outside but also love movies made in the nation so that they can stimulate people to develop the quality of films and film technology in the world that continues to grow, so that Indonesia is not always left behind in the field of cinema. Design method used is descriptive method is to describe the design of the film museum objectively.

Abstract

Nowadays, store-based retailing is one of the most popular businesses. Fierce competition requires retailers to be able to accommodate customer’s needs with high integrity and competitive interior design at the modest price. Design shall be flexible and adaptive to the changes. Therefore, it is essential to make a furniture design which enhances the efficiency and effectiveness value that leads to the convenience of the users. It would be only achieved by conducting a thorough survey as well as a comprehensive study literature of the layout basics, furniture design types and terms, construction systems, and alternatives studies of styles and materials selection. Thus the formula will be obtained in the form of provisions in the good design of a flexible furniture, that will be applied in the design for shoes and bags retail.

Abstract

TITD Ling Sii Miao Tanah Kilap is a unique temple in Denpasar due to the acculturation between Chinese and Balinese culture in its building design. The values of Tri Dharma along with Balinese culture that are commonly sensed by visitors are unconsciously triggered by the design of this temple. The history, art and religion that ran along together from the olden days till today cannot be separated from one another as every detail of the building design contains historical stories, art and Tri Dharma values along with Balinese culture.This research aims to study and understand every detail of the temple’s building design, from its architecture to its interior design, in regards to the acculturation of Chinese and Balinese culture that have taken place.

Abstract

Modular indoor booth design is an inovation on product display system for the interior of exhibition space. The aim of this booth design is to facilitate the exhibition’s organizer in setting up and disassembling the booth. Combining modular system and breakdown system in the design may provide an ease in many aspects, such as in transportation, assembly dan storage. The advantages of this display system are its capability in adapting on different situation may appear in exhibition space and creating several different forms from one set booth design. It also supports the world in overcome global warming by using material efficiently.

Abstract

Peniel Church is one of the examples of buildings that have been acculturated by the Balinese culture. Acculturation is a social process that arises when a group of people with a particular culture are exposed to the elements of a foreign culture so foreign element else it is gradually accepted and processed into the culture itself without causing the loss of cultural identity. Peniel Church Blimbingsari so this is one that deserves to be studied object uniqueness, whether the influences that occur after the prior acculturation acculturation, and what are the underlying philosophy-filosfi acculturation on the Blimbingsari Peniel Church. By using interpretivism, it will show the acculturation of spatial, sanctity, and cultural influences occur at Peniel Church Blimbingsari-Bali. Of the analysis will be able to prove that the Peniel Church Blimbingsari is a product design that has been acculturated between Balinese culture and Western culture.

Abstract

The rapid growth of lifestyle in big city especially Surabaya encourage the needs of good places, like Lounge & Bar for young executives and entrepreneurs who seek a well-organized yet trendy place to build a social relation. They love places which offer a well design interior space as well as great ambiance for doing business with pleasure. The design of Lounge & Bar also stress on the importance of fashion trends, hence it is suitable as a place to held fashion runway. The design of Lounge and Bar for young fashionable executive has to have a unique character and contribute to the creation of the interior which accommodates complete services as requested, such as stage, bar area, lounge area, and also divider arrangement. In order to emerge glamour ambiences in luxurious fashion, exclusive and unique as a “one of a kind”, Lounge and Bar uses the exclusive concept of “Crystallize”.

Abstract

Office’s lighting is one of important aspect that can improve residents’ performance. Sequislife Office is located in Intiland Tower building where this building is one of the eco-friendly architecture and it designed to be a building that cares for the physical and mental health of its residents. However, at this office, the artificial lighting is more dominant than the natural lighting, where this thing is not supported the Green Building concept of Intiland Tower building itself, and the artificial lighting in this building is also not conformed the standard. Through the quantitative research methods, the effectiveness systems' research and its application to the office lighting is based on the concept of Sequislife environmentally friendly, and the acquisition of light intensity will be compared with the Indonesian National Standard. Optimizing light through a simulation program is one of the ways in which to obtain the appropriate light intensity of existing standards and expected to maximize the performance of future occupants of the office.

Abstract

Samsat as one of the government offices that are frequently visited by the public has very minimal facilities and making people very uncomfortable and have to use the services of brokers to take care of motor vehicle documents. Although the cost is more, but people do not mind to use the services of brokers. Laying counter irregular and unclear instructions that make the circulation in the office of the financial services sector into chaos. This design is intended to solve the existing problems in the office at the time of the call centers. Authors intended that the public can have the will to take care of themselves letter without having to use the services of brokers. Use the services of brokers is not only detrimental to the public but also detrimental to the government. The concept of harmony is applied here to support SAMSAT office interior design.

Abstract

Paintings become one of the most important thing for decoration element nowadays, besides wants and needs of people about paintings for decoration element which its purpose to make rooms becomes more beautiful is very high. Making design work on "Design Paintings Gallery Ivan Hariyanto in Surabaya" This is becoming a vessel that holds and supports Ivan Hariyanto’s paintings on display so that it becomes permanent gallery in Surabaya where tourists both domestic and abroad can enjoy and visit at any time without waiting special exhibitions and events without deadlines. Using linear design method, the target will be designing concept that taken from the paintings of Ivan Hariyanto, so the interior design in the gallery is  made to have a relationship and support each Hariyanto Ivan works on display, and prototype using 1: 100 scale.
