The scope is not limited by state, nation, temporal duration, certain ideas, and narrow beliefs. This journal is open to various approaches, theories, methodologies, research methods carried out by scientists, academics, researchers and practitioners in the fields and disciplines: economics, social, political science, government studies, international relations, sociology, anthropology, demography, history, religious and cultural studies, philosophy of science, communication science, and development studies.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine gender identity and the stigma experienced by cosplayers in Malang City. A gender identity that is formed through repeated actions in cosplay life. A cosplayer has a different gender between social life and life when becoming a cosplayer. Gender differences that are owned by cosplayers raise problems in the form of stigma. The stigma that emerges and attaches to cosplayers who cross-gender is in the form of sexual deviance. The research method used in the research is descriptive qualitative with the resulting data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior. Data collection used is observation, interview, and documentation. The result of this research is that the gender identity of cosplayers is formed through actions that display gender that is repeated in cosplay life and continuously. A cosplayer displays his gender to imitate the character or character he likes. Second, the stigma that appears in cosplayer life is due to gender differences between social life and life as a cosplayer. The existence of gender differences causes cosplayers to get the stigma of sexual deviance.

Abstract

In higher education, the development of Information Technology (IT) requires all academics to be able to adapt to the change of information. In Universitas Brawijaya, certification is carried out as a means to increase student competence in entering the workforce, this is stated in Rector Regulation number 36 of 2015. The CIPP evaluation model is a comprehensive evaluation format that has stages of context, input, process, and product. This study aims to determine and assess the implementation of competency certification programs as well as supporting and inhibiting factors measured by the CIPP evaluation method. This study using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques with observation, documentation, literature study, and in-depth interviews. The results showed that in the context aspect there was a relevance between the Ministry of Higher Education and Universitas Brawijaya. The input aspect of the components in this aspect is good but the students need more stimulus to be more proactive towards the program. The process is good to be seen from the responses of the participants but needs more supervision in the aspects of the exam of the product are good from the results of the value achieved also a benefit that is felt by the participants.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Culture and Tourism Office of North Lombok Regency of West Nusa Tenggara with the title Implementation of Tourism Marketing Policies. Qualitative research with methods used observation, interviews, and secondary studies to obtain data about tourism in North Lombok Regency. Tourism marketing that has been carried out by the Culture and Tourism Office is by participating in exhibitions on Lombok Island and outside the region. As well as collecting data on the number or number of tourists coming to the North Lombok Regency in the hope that these tourist numbers can be used to determine the tourism market share of North Lombok Regency. The marketing policy carried out is not yet effective and not yet on target so cooperation between the private sector in tourism marketing in North Lombok is needed.

Abstract

Anarchism is the system of thought that arose in Indonesia nowadays. The research aims are to find clear views about anarchism by its literature, peoples, and observations of its movement in Indonesia. Then observe anarchism potentiality according to nationality by its movement which can affect alternative social movement in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods and applies comparison on literature as primary data and interviews as secondary data. The results of this research contain perspective anarchism views which are no longer stands against the states because of a new consciousness about real oppressor on all system especially the multinational institutions. Meanwhile, the potentiality of anarchism on small scales can be promoted as the alternative movement for the society to build better conditions for small scoops or locals of its base values which are to respect the nature of goodness and freedom on humanities.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the success of the ServiceDesk Information System at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) using An updated DeLone and McLean model approach. Data collection techniques are using questionnaires. The object of this research is the ITS ServiceDesk Information System. The subjects of this study are ITS Stakeholders, namely Lecturers, Students, Employees, and General Public, with a population of 1463 users, with 93 samples obtained from the Slovin technique. Analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Amos as a tool. The results showed that there was an influence between System Quality, Service Quality, and Information Quality on Use. Similarly, there are significant effects in System Quality, Service Quality, and Information Quality on User Satisfaction. Use is not affected by User Satisfaction because the System is Mandatory, this means the system is the only complaint system that exists without any other alternative. The significant influence is also shown by the Use and User Satisfaction with the greatest value on Net Benefits, this means that in an information system, User Satisfaction is proven to greatly affect the work of users, as well as the performance of the organization.

Abstract

A start-up company is a phenomenon of business development, based on information technology through digital marketing by using Internet technology, in the form of an application that integrate the owners and users.  Human resources who are in charge in organization is not only employees, but also partners for business outside the company. Motivation that comes from partners of business is very important to be managed by company, therefore the goals could be carried out well. This study describes and analyzes the work motivation of drivers who are join in PT. Gojek Indonesia in Malang. This research uses a descriptive qualitative, by collecting several data through a triangulation method.  The collected data would be analyzed by using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis method models.  The result presents that work motivation of the drivers influenced by individual character and work environment factor. Hence, an organization support that is provided for the drivers is also increase their work motivation, therefore the drivers would like to stay with PT. Gojek Indonesia Meanwhile, to increase work motivation an adjustment is still needed in rewards system that is provided to the drivers.

Abstract

Public policy becomes a major highlight, with consideration that the presence of students is the core of policies of higher education institutions. Public policies regarding students also become the benchmark for student development as seen through activities of student achievement. The objective of this research is to examine the process of policy implementation for appreciation for honor students in the environment of the Faculty of Social Science and Political Science of Brawijaya University (FISIP UB). This research utilized the method of qualitative research, with data and information collection conducted through the techniques of interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of this research indicated that the implementation of policies for the provision of appreciation can be seen through the various kinds of achievements that have been achieved by FISIP UB students and have been rewarded, by way of individual and group efforts, through participation in activities at the campus, provincial, national, and international levels. The objective of rewards is to motivate students to be able to be more creative and spirited in making contributions to improve the image of the faculty. The process of implementing the provision of appreciation for students is also continuously performed to elicit a maximum response from students. This is because student achievements, in addition to generating rewards in the form of money given to them or the provision of appreciation for honor students in the form of congratulations from the faculty to students through posts on the official social media channels of the faculty or banners containing information on achievements of students and personal characteristics, become examples and motivation for other students to achieve their achievements. This research concludes that the policies can increase the creativity and spirit of students in attaining achievements and contributing to the faculty.

Abstract

This research has the objective to find out the quality of services perceived by users of the services for goods and services procurement as provided by the Office of Procurement Services of Brawijaya University, with the Public Satisfaction Index for principles of service. The research utilized the descriptive research method with the qualitative approach because it is desired to be able to describe and reveal user satisfaction in the process of goods and services procurement in the environment of Brawijaya University. This research was conducted at the Rectorate, Faculties, and Goods and Services Procurement Institution Unit of Brawijaya University. The data analysis in this research consisted of three stages: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The results of this research indicated five important points of service quality, which are Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy, for the Procurement Institution Unit of Brawijaya University. From the five dimensions of service quality, it can be concluded that users have not been satisfied with the provided services that they obtained. Services for goods and services procurement have not yet proceeded according to the needs and desires of users, and therefore the matter requires special attention from the staff of goods and services procurement to improve service quality so that the provided services can proceed well according to the desires and expectations of students. This would then be mutually beneficial for both parties.
