The study was conducted to obtain the effect of using flash card during learning with jigsaw cooperative model on student` activity and their achievement. This study used pretest-postest not equivalent designed on sample which was selected using cluster random sampling sample technique. The data of student` concept mastery were obtained from test (pretest and posttest), observation sheet (students learning activities) and student`s respons questionnairet about this study. The student`s concept mastery was categorized according to Bloom Taxonomy namely Data was analyzed using t-test on the SPSS17 program. The N-gain score obtained showed that the experimental class was better than the control ones. The study indicated that the flash card usage affecting student`s concept mastery espescially on comprehensiveness (C2) aspect, but not analysis skill (C4) aspect. The average student learning activity of experiment class was 75,12 % which was high category. Based on the stud it can be concluded that the used of flash card in Jigsaw cooperative learning model significantly enhanced student`s learning activities and their concept mastery. Base observation already being done at SMP Perintis 1 Bandar Lampung, method that utilized by teacher in learning still to methodic discourse. Predicted it that becomes its low causal factor the result of student biological learning on microscopes subject material. Preconceived method can increase the result of student learning is by applying combination demonstration method and media realia. Sample in observational is students at VII B as class of experiment and VII C as class of control. Sample establishment with cluster random's tech sampling. On experiment class by learning with combination methodics demonstration and media realia, and on class control to utilize discussion method. Observational Design is utilized pretest-posttest equivalen design. Data in observational is quantitative data and qualitative data. Acquired quantitative data of cognitive data student as mastery of concept that took by gives pretest and posttest. Qualitative data is gotten of psikomotor data student that taking to utilize performance test. Analysis data utilizes to t-test on trusty level 95% by use of program SPSS 17. The Result of observationaling showed that implement combination of methodics demonstration and media realia is significantly affect to the result of student learning on microscope subject material. Increasing happening on the result of student learning at experiment class with averagely N-gain 51,86. Averagely N-gain on experiment class higher than averagely N-gain on control class, so gets declared for that student concept mastery on microscopes subject material which utilize demonstration method with media realia highest than in comparison with discussion method. Known average percentage psikomotorik student on experiment class highest than at 61,59% compare to 36,14% in control class that utilize to methodic discussion. Based on observation and interview with biology teacher in SMP N 4 Gedongtataan, students learning activities and concept mastery were not optimally developed yet. An alternative that can be used to improve learning activities and concept mastery is using laboratory equipment. This study aims to understand the influence of laboratory equipment utilization towards student activities and concept mastery. This study is quasi experiment using pretest posttest group non equivalent design. Sample in this experiment are students from VIII C and VIII D which obtained from population by cluster random sampling method. Quantitative data obtained from average of pretest and posttest scores which statistically analyzed with U-test using SPSS version 17 in 95% confidence levels. Qualitative data are student’s concept mastery, learning activities and students responses about laboratory equipment utilization which descriptively analyzed. Result of this study shown that the average of students concept mastery in experimental class are higher than control (experiment= 65.81; control = 29.1). The average of student learning activities percentage in all observed aspects in experimental class shown higher enhancement than control (experiment = 79.9; control = 72.21) most of the students also gives positive responses to laboratory equipment utilization. Key words: structure and function of plants tissues, laboratory equipment media

The observations and discussions with teachers who taught in Biology class III SD Negeri 1 Kampung Baru Lampung, it is known that the dominant learning more teachers using the conventional approach. Students also receive more information from the teacher so that students are less than optimal in empowering potential, including critical thinking skills. One effort that can help empower students in critical thinking skills is to use science process skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of science process skills for critical thinking skills of students in the subject matter of Characteristics and Needs of Living Things. The study design is a group pretest-posttest non-equivalent. The samples in this study were grade IIIA and IIIB were randomly selected by random sampling technique clusster. Data were obtained from the pretest and posttest at each meeting, the gain score is calculated by the formula. Data analysis using t-test at 5% level of belief using SPSS 17. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of the use of science process skills for critical thinking skills of students in the subject matter of Characteristics and Needs of Living Things. Critical thinking skills students are learning in the classroom using science process skills approach higher grade than learning to use a conventional approach.

One effort to improve the learning outcomes of natural science subjects, the researchers are interested in examining the effectiveness of cooperative learning. According to the theory of constructivism, learning is a construct knowledge based on prior knowledge. Thus, the ability to beginning students could be expected to affect the learning outcomes. Researchers applying two cooperative learning model type is the type Student Achievment Team Division (STAD) and Group Investigaton (GI) and the two classes. The technique used in this study is proces sampling techniques, and data collection and processing be conducted to obtain data on knowledge and attitudes. The instrument used was a test sheet and questionnaire. To analyze the data the normality test, homogeneity test, t test, and N-gain.Result of different of average from pretest and postest score get 60 percents for experiment class (STAD type) and 40 percents for control class (GI tipe). Result from average scores of questionnare get 70 percents for experiment class (STAD type) and 40 percent for control class (GI type). From the result of count above show that there is significant different and positive influence between knowledge result and student attitude which using coopertative learning model of STAD and cooperative learning model of GI.Keywords: Conservation, STAD learning model, GI, students' Knowledge, Attitudes of students, Mangrove Conservation

The observations were performed in the Junior High School 2 Ambarawa , especially the eighth grade, biology shows that subjects regarded as a difficult subject understandable to students. This is because learning takes place in conventional and low interest in reading students' biology textbooks. One effort that can be done to increase reading and student results of learning is through the use of Leaflet teaching materials types Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model. This study aims to determine the improvement of student results of learning in the subject matter of human development after being treated with a Leaflet through tipeJigsaw koopertif learning model. The results showed an increase in the average between pretest and posttest values were measured with N-gain in the experimental class at 55.75 is higher than the control class at 46.89. Average of the highest values in the aspect of understanding that is equal to 59.75 while the average low of results of learning in analyzing aspects of 34.2. Average student learning activities in the experimental class higher at 75.53 compared to 68.34 in the control classes. Given these results it can be concluded that the use of instructional materials Leaflets through Jigsaw cooperative learning model type significantly in improving students' junior high school 2 Ambarawa on the subject matter of Human Development. The Biology learning process in the eight grade class of Junior High School IX Bandar Lampung is dominated by the teacher whose uses lecuring teaching strategis. This situation needs students to note the information fast and properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using mind map noting technique to improve students' biotechnology concepts mastery and students' learning activities. Students of class IXE and class IXC was chosen as sample using randomize block design sampling technique. The study used pre-post test non equivalent design, and obtained of the quantitative data using and N-gain score. The qualitative data were aspects of students` learning activities. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS 17 software while the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the effect of mind map noting technique had not significantly improved the students`s concepts mastery. However the students` activities increased as much as 23.06%. Thus, the use of mind map noting techniques can influence students` learning activities and students` mastery of biotechnology concepts.
