Abstract

The main problem is availability of animal research (stock) that at any time required by researchers or for practicum purposes. This problem actually can become a good breeding business opportunity for LBioS-UB that can cooperate with FKH-UB as one source of generating income and is very necessary to get independence of LBioS-FKH UB. LBioS has the modern facilities that very adequate to maintenance animal research, while FKH has experienced and competent human resources for breeding, production and provision of experimental animal stock. Based on the Brawijaya University policy, the long-term goals and targets of LBioS-UB should be self-supporting laboratories, especially in administration and finance. The University has provided sufficient facilities/equipment for research and production of biological materials, FKH UB is provide some experimental animals through breeding and producing in accordance with quality standards that have been identified and adjusted with the customer needs. The advantage of animal research produced by LBioS-PKH UB is the existing quality assurance and staff expertise. Promotion will be offered through networking that has been owned by several national/international institutions with website media: www.biosains.ub.ac.id and www.fkh.ub.ac.id

Abstract

Besides coffee productivity, the most prominent problem in the coffee production is related to the consistency of quality. This community service program is specifically aimed to resolved coffee quality and productivity problems encountered by Sridonoretno coffee processing and producing unit in UPH Sekar Rindu. The approach in addressing those problems includes four steps. First step is the community empowerment through training on coffee quality and introduction on selective picking/harvesting method. Secondly, writing and documenting standard operating procedures for harvesting, for some common coffee post harvest processing methods as well as an appropriate storage procedure that could be applied by the community. Thirdly, the introduction of machinery including coffee huller and scale to improve coffee productivity. The last effort is to perform certification and grading of the quality of Sridonoretno green coffee beans.

Abstract

Pacitan is an area that is prone to earthquakes. Pacitan area in terms of the geological conditions of the area potentially affected by the threat of earthquakes, both centered in the sea (subduction zones) and on the ground in the form of active faults. The method used is the active participation and interviews. The process of detection as well as records of earthquakes assisted using Software SeisComP3. On display there SeisComP3 Indonesia map with symbols of the triangle which is the station that placed their vibration detectors of earthquakes throughout Indonesia. Based on the data of earthquakes during the last 6 months, have occurred 15 earthquakes in Pacitan and the surrounding area.

Abstract

The purpose of IbiKK activities “Poultry Farmers in Karangploso Malang toward organic farming was to make poultry farm "Mr Ali" and "Mr. Tasir" into an organic farm. Results showed that 1) farmers can carry and produce their own laying hens feed formulation based so it can replace the local feed mill feed with good quality with the introduction of poultry feed formulation software (UB Feed)  and horizontal mixer, 2) breeders can create and use technology package manufacture natural feed additive antibiotics substitute a mixture of probiotics, Phytobiotic  and acidifiers, while others are still in the form of development results to be passed in the coming years, namely a) the application of organic chicken farm farming package,  b) eggs and meat products are organic rejected,  c) product marketing network both eggs and organic meat still needs to be developed. Benefits of IbiKK activity is increased farmer income because it can reduce the cost of feed which is the largest component of 70 %, farmers already have knowledge about the cultivation of laying hens to produce organic products, although not yet fully implemented due to many factors that influence and the lack of a specialized agency in Indonesia authorized to certify organic products.

Abstract

Catfish farming of today's era has a very lucrative and promising prospect, because of its nutritious and delicious flavors. The catfish beside it tastes delicious, the nutrient content is very high and good for the growth and health, so it is preferred by the wide circle of society, especially the Indonesian Nation. Catfish have advantages and advantages compared to other animal products are rich in Leusin and Lisin. Leucine (C6H13NO2) is an essential amino acid present in catfish, indispensable for the growth of children and maintaining nitrogen balance. Leucine is useful for the growth and formation of muscle proteins.

Abstract

This study is a continuation of previous research [5],[6],[7], on the hierarchy of the Green Open Space’s role of the city based on its 9 classifications (Green Line, City Park, Urban forest, Garden Tomb, Sports Park, Rotonde, Monument Park, Playground, and Offices Park) in improving the ecological quality of Malang city center. The focus of this research is to create an eco-quality ideal RTH arrangement model, especially Green Open Spaces which has the biggest role in improving the performance of downtown Malang. The arrangement considers several factors, namely: first, environmental-ecological factors related to environmental emission levels, air temperature and humidity [5],[6],[7]. Second, the physical environment of Green Open Spaces has a setting factor which includes all the hardscape element forming attributes and softscape elements. Third, the human activity factor, which uses the physical environment setting as a container to perform various activities. The advantage of this study lies in the process technology, which is in the process of arrangement of Green Open Spaces in the field of architectural science (with a qualitative method approach based on the designer's intuitive concept), so in this study the approach is precisely on the quantitative study, with statistical measurement, the results are processed through Graphics and tabulation systems and utilizing City CAD software in simulation and Green Open Space’s exploration in downtown Malang.

Abstract

Bioflok is a relatively new technology in the field of aquaculture. The weakness of this technology is the need that takes a long time. This ultimately decreases the task and waiting period for fish production. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of air quality and bacteria that will be used as a basis for making rapid biofloc technology. The research was conducted by examining air quality, physics, and chemistry. The results show that the sidika chemical (DO, temperature, pH, intelligence, air color) parameters are not always significant which occurred for eleven days. While the dominant bacteria are the bacteria genus Bacillus, Lactobacillus and Nitrosomonas. This shows that early biofilm formation with these bacteria.

Abstract

Pornography has big negative impacts on students. KALIGRAFI has purpose to reduce the negative impact of pornography and develop potential motoric on children. This program implemented for 5 months at Karangbesuki 1 Elementary School Malang. The methods used are pretest, giving material, integrated practice, and posttest. Materials given are religious and sexual education and also healthy internet usage. Integrated exercise is done through fun games and grouping of children based on talents and interests to increase the potential of children. The results show that there is a decrease in the number of students exposed to the negative effect of pornography from 57.5% to 17.5% of students. Based on the results, KALIGRAFI make some regeneration and modules as  sustainability of the program so that the program can be maintained and even can be applied easily by the community from elementary school students, educators and parents

Abstract

Proses produksi susu kedelai menyisakan ampas kedelai yangbelum termanfaatkan dengan baik. Ampas kedelai merupakan hasil samping dari pengolahan tahu dan susu kedelai. Ampas tersebut diperoleh dari proses pengepresan yang menghasilkan sari kedelai. UKM susu kedelai biasanya menjual ampas ini kepada pihak lain untuk diolah menjadi pakan ternak. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada pelaku UKM mengenai pengolahan ampas kedelai menjadi produk nugget dan brownies ampas kedelai. Kedua produk ini bergizi tinggi dan marketable, sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan pelaku UKM selain dari penjualan susu kedelai. Kegiatan ini dilaksanaan melalui beberapa metode, yaitu brainstorming, praktek, penyuluhan, bimbingan teknis dan pendampingan.  Hasil olahan ampas kedelai yang dipraktekkan yaitu nugget dan brownies dari ampas tahu. Nugget dan brownies yang diolah dari ampas tahu masih mengandung protein dan lemak yang bermanfaat bagi tubuh.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to asses the effect of organic liquid fertilizer application in shoot of coconut plant to coconut sap production. This research was held in Candinata Village, Kutasari Distric, Purbalingga District in August 2015. The treatments were application of organic liquid fertilizer, and without application of organic liquid fertilizer. The data was collected one week after treatment application until three weeks respectively. The observed variables were volume of coconut sap production per day, pH, and sugar brix content. The result of this research showed that organic liquid fertilizer application in shoot of coconut plant increase the coconut sap production (10,89%) and sugar brix (one point) in dry season.
