Abstract

Competition for water resources is one of the most important problems in the world given the limited availability of clean water sources. Several countries in the world depend on their water supply needs to other countries because they are unable to meet their own clean water needs. Therefore, cooperation in the field of waters is carried out by a number of countries to be able to overcome conflicts that occur due to water problems. As is the case with the conflict between China, Bangladesh and India regarding the Brahmaputra River, the river that crosses these three countries is at the same time very important for the supply of clean water for these three countries. So the formulation of the problem in this paper is "How is the analysis related to the cooperation behind the Brahmaputra River conflict between India and China and the interests behind the cooperation?" and this paper aims to describe the understanding and discussion related to hydropolitic and water diplomacy in the Brahmaputra River conflict and to analyze and examine the interests of cooperation between China and India in resolving the Brahmaputra River conflict. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method where the author uses literature study in data processing. The author uses the concepts of Hydropolitics and Water Diplomacy in the analysis process so that it is found that the Brahmaputra River conflict between China and India is handled by the MoU of Water Cooperation. Abstract

Along with the easier exchange of information, people and goods between countries as a result of the rapid globalization, forms of crime in the international world also continue to grow at the same time. One of the transnational crimes that is of concern and is very difficult to deal with today is the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons. In this paper, the author identifies the activities, entities and impacts of Small Arms and Light Weapons transnational crimes in India. To overcome this, various efforts have been made by the Government of India, but there are still obstacles in its implementation caused by the weakness of law in India so that these criminal groups can operate easily and prolifically. Transnational crime activities in India can be explained through trends in the spread, identification of transnational crimes, identification of Models of Conditions and Models of Operations, as well as handling methods applied at global, regional to national levels. Abstract

Japan’s case of inclusivity is distinctive when one considers its homogenous nature, which brings a challenge for foreign influences to integrate into its culture. However, several cases like the tolerance of Christianity in the contemporary era shows that external influences and cultures can be accepted in Japan as long as those said influences and cultures can integrate into the nation. As for Islam, its steadily growing population in Japan has raised an urgent issue in the discourse of Japan as an inclusive society. The main problem Japan had—specifically after the 9/11 attack—in regards to Islam was the biassed public perceptions which tend to generalise and stigmatise Islam and its adherents. Such perceptions were mainly caused by the few numbers of Muslims in Japan at that time and the narratives Japanese mass media brought to the public. However, recent times have seen a glimpse of light for Islam in Japan. The rising number of native Japanese that convert to Islam and the influx of refugees has counterbalanced the negative perceptions the Japanese public had prior to the current circumstances. Abstract

However, amidst the modern era, violence and violations of Human Rights (HR) continue to occur. The case of Erwiana Sulistyaningsih, an Indonesian migrant worker in Hong Kong, reflects how systems of violence and slavery still persist to this day. So, how does a sovereign state like Indonesia respond to and protect its citizens in cases of HR violations? Focusing on this question, this article is crafted to provide a clear overview of the government's efforts in resolving the Erwiana case. The Indonesian government, through entities such as the Consulate General of Indonesia in Hong Kong, the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI), and the Directorate of Indonesian Citizen Protection, plays a crucial role in handling Erwiana's case and advocating for her rights. Cooperation between Indonesian and Hong Kong authorities emphasizes the importance of international cooperation from the perspective of Classical Liberalism in protecting migrant workers and seeking justice for victims of oppression. Based on the classical liberalism theory and the main concept of protection diplomacy, which are used as the main framework. Primary data from interviews, secondary data from online searches, and literature become crucial evidence proving the relevance of the main theory and concepts. Abstract

ABSTRACT Sri Lanka was hit by the worst economic crisis in its history, especially since gaining independence in 1948. The economic crisis reached the point where Sri Lanka declared itself unable to pay its debts or was in default. India, as a neighboring country and emerging donor, has emerged to help Sri Lanka restore its economy. India is providing foreign assistance totaling USD 5 billion in 2022 to Sri Lanka. This research aims to analyze India's interests in providing foreign assistance to recover from the Sri Lankan economic crisis using the concept of national interest explained by Nuechterlein. Nuechterlein's concept of national interests consists of four interests, namely economic interests, defense interests, ideological interests, and world order interests. This research uses a qualitative approach whose explanation is descriptive with secondary data obtained through library study techniques. Based on the analysis carried out, of the four interests, there are three interests that are the most prominent and behind India's allocation of foreign aid to the Sri Lankan economic crisis, namely economic interests, defense interests and world order interests Keywords: Economic Crisis, Sri Lanka, India.
