Abstract

A waste management that supports 100-0-100 program of Ministry of Public Works and Housing (2015-2019) is one of main concerns of Malang city government. The community of Kedungkandang District has not been served fully by the waste management service. Only 37% of the Kedungkandang District Community which is served by waste management service or only 152,2 m 3 / day from the total volume of waste production which is 412,3 m 3 / day. This is not appropriate with the target of waste service in Malang City (100%). This target aimed to support the program of Public Work and Housing Ministry which is 100-0-100 that means 100% access to safe drinking water, 0% slum settlement and 100% access to sanitation service in 2015-2019. This research discusses the improvement the waste service area in Kedungkandang district by adding new transfer points and increasing the capacity of transfer points. The analyzes used in this study are the analysis of transfer point and waste collection tools conformity, overlay analysis, network analysis, operational waste transport analysis. The criteria needed to increase the waste service area in Kedungkandang District, and to determine the recommendation that will be applied. The criteria used is based on the regulation of Malang City no (10) 2010, PERMEN PU No (3) 2013 about the waste management infrastructure and Masterplan of Waste Management 2016, SNI 3242-2008 about the procedure of waste management in the settlement. The result of this research shows that the transfer points’ capacity which need to be expanded such as Cemorokandang transfer point, Kedungkandang transfer point, Lesanpuro transfer point, Arjowinangun transfer point, Danau Bratan transfer point, while the establishment of the new transfer points will be in Bumiayu Village, Tlogowaru Village, Kedungkandang Village, Cemorokandang Village, Wonokoyo Village. Keywords: Service area, transfer points, waste transport.

Abstract

Kasiba-Lisiba is a strategic area with comparative advantages based on settlements. The government of Palembang City has established Kasiba-Lisiba as a strategic area as an effort to make distribution and development of settlements. As a driving force in the regional development, the impact of settlements as a growth center has not been widely known. Identify the effect of the determination can be shown on the change of land characteristics. The purpose of this study is to identify changes in land characteristics before and after the establishment of strategic areas in Kasiba-Lisiba Palembang City. The method used in this research is a quantitative-qualitative deductive method (mix method). The analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis, before-after analysis, and cross tabulation analysis. The result of the analysis shows that based on five land characteristic variables, there are four variables that have changed namely: built-up area, land price, land title, and land utilization, while one attribute of land that is not changed between before and after Kasiba-Lisiba determination is land tenure. With the establishment of Kasiba-Lisiba Talang Kelapa as a fast-growing area has a significant influence or relationship to the changing land characteristics in the area. Keywords: land characteristic, kasiba-lisiba, growth pole

Abstract

Rapid population growth in Surakarta requires the need for land for housing. Due to limited land available, the fulfillment of housing needs spread to the suburbs around the city of Surakarta. In choosing a home, whether it be consumption or investment, the convenience of individuals or households will have different preferences depending on the characteristics. The purpose of this study is to determine the preferences of housing selection based on the motivation of home purchase and to know the relationship of household characteristics with motivation of home purchase. The method used is quantitative descriptive method with percentage tendency and mean analysis to know housing selection preferences and cross tabulation analysis and Chi-Square test to know the relation between household characteristics and motivation of home purchase. The result of the analysis of housing preferences is, in households that buy houses for consumption, the main preference in housing selection is: 1) the physical condition of the environment (2.84); 2) home financing (2.76); and 3) location and accessibility (2.76). While in households that have motivations for investment, the main preference in housing selection is: 1) the physical condition of the house (2.83); 2) location and accessibility (2.80); and 3) the physical condition of the environment (2.78). Characteristics of households that influence the motivation of home purchase is the level of education (sig. 0.000); households income level (sig 0.001) and housing type (sig 0.006. With the knowledge of housing selection preference based on purchasing motivation, it is hoped that it can be used as input in making policy for the government in housing development especially in fulfilling the needs of housing for the right target, especially for low income people who mostly still have difficulty access to own housing. Keywords: selection of housing, motivation of home purchase, sub-urban area

Abstract

Location is one of the important factors for economic activity including industrial activities. Therefore, the determination of industrial site must consider the factors that influence the location. The purpose of this study is to know the spatial distribution pattern of medium industries and to measure the influence of geographical factors (raw materials, human capital, market, transportation, and utility) to medium industries location preference in Malang Regency. The method used in this research is deductive method with quantitative analysis. To know the pattern of spatial distribution of medium industries, this research used Moran's I Index analysis, while to measure the influence of geographical factor to medium industries location preference, it used discriminant statistical analysis. The result of analysis using Moran's I Index states that spatial distribution pattern of medium industries is spread randomly. Factors affecting the preferences of medium-sized industrial sites to be close to the road or far from the road based on discriminant statistical analysis results are; (i) the distance between the source of raw materials and the industrial site; (ii) distance of workforce with industrial site; (iii) distance of industrial site with utility; (iv) market distance with industrial site; and (v) the distance of the industrial site to the owner's home. The most influential factor is the distance of industrial site with the house of the industry’s owner and the distance of industrial site with utility because it has the biggest function coefficient value. Keywords: location preferences, intermediate industries, geographic factors.
