Abstract

Land use activities that changing types of land cover, vegetation changes to other vegetation types in managed of natural resources, deforestation, shifting cultivation, and changes in land treatments found in the watershed Lesti. Efforts that can be used as an alternative solution to the landuse change is to analyze the CN (Curve Number) as a variable that classify each landuse, type of soil and vegetation, in order to know the effect of the runoff and river discharge. The study shows CN value increase from 2002 to 2012 an average of 1.03%, average surface runoff 54.79 mm, with an average streamflow of 18.54 m 3 / sec. The changes in land use from 2002 to 2012 caused increase in the value of the CN (Curve Number), surface runoff, and river discharge in Lesti River.Key words: Lesti Watershed, Curve Number, Runoff

Abstract

Sutami Reservoir is located in Karangkates Village, Sumber Pucung District, Malang Regency. Its primary benefits are for flood control, irrigation, power generation of 3 x 35 MW, and to supply a minimum discharge of 56 m 3 /sec for downstream regions. Early on, it was planned that the minimum discharge for the hydropower turbine would be 25 m /sec and the maximum discharge would be 51.39 m 3 /sec. In its 40 years of age, the turbine has only been capable of handling a maximum discharge of 46.09 m 3 /sec. Electricity production can be maintained by optimizing the outflow that enters the turbine. A model was designed using a fuzzy linear programming model, which is combined with a simulation model for reservoir operating rule performance evaluation. In this study, an optimization of 11 years was obtained, in the form of optimal energy production of 5606.66 GWh, a new rule curve for the regulation of water surface levels, and a simulated result of 100% reliability for the model and existing implementation. Keywords : Fuzzy linear programming, optimization, simulation, reservoir operation rule, Sutami reservoir.

Abstract

Babak watershed is one of the major watersheds in Lombok with ± 259.166 km watershed area. Babak watershed is affected by 6 rainfall stations spread inside and outside the watershed. By using the standard of WMO (World Meteorological Organization) for mountainous area with the range of 100-250 km 2 /station for the tropics, assessment and analysis have been made and shown that two stations which did not fit the WMO standards of rain heading density. For example Keru and Jurang Sate Rainfall station, each of the station has an area of influence ± 60 km 2 . Furthermore, from the assessment and analysis using Kagan-Rodda method, there were two selected stations. While using Kriging method, there were three stations that have been chosen with one new placement inside the Babak watershed. Relative error of design rainfall for Kagan-Rodda method was between 2.36% -18.60% for every return period; whilst for Kriging method was between 7.90% - 13.57%. Hydrograph calibration result of Collins observation unit and Nakayasu synthetic unit rendered in α value of 1.27 for Babak watershed; relative error for Nakayasu design flood of Kagan-Rodda method for every return period was between 0.35% -18.21% while Kriging method was between 8.90% - 13.04%.Key Word : Rainfall stasiun,, Rationalization, WMO, Kagan-Rodda, Kriging, Collins.

Abstract

The reservoir is expected to utilize water into the source of energy using hidroelectric power plants. Unfortunately, there is reduction of its function time by time because of sedimentation problem at the bottom of Wonogiri reservoir. Because of this problem, there are urgent needs of good management, planning, and operation to optimize the Wonogiri function again. One of the effective methods is the application of stochastic operational simulation rule of reservoir assisted with solver evolutionary program. Based on analysis result, the application of optimization operational simulation rule using stochastic model had better electric production than existing operational simulation rule. There was the increase of electric production as much as 22.98% (77.733 MWh/15days) from 33,820 MWh/15days to 41,593 MWh/15days. The performance evaluation showed that the reservoir had a 100% reliability to produce electricity and 80% to fulfill water demand in downstream area. Keywords: Wonogiri reservoir, reservoir operation rule, simulation, stochastic model, reservoir evaluation

Abstract

Flooding is an annual problem occurs in DKI Jakarta. Generally the cause of flooding in Jakarta happened because of two major factors, the natural factor that flooding is influenced by 13 rivers that cross the DKI Jakarta and the human factor that changes the function areas border the river. In this study made seven simulations of alternative flood control at Ciliwung River segment MT. Haryono to Manggarai Sluice with flood plan discharge 100 years. Furthermore the most optimum alternative is determined taking into account the volume of runoff occurring and the budget plan costs.Based on analysis of the hydraulics and analysis of budget plan costs obtained that the most optimum alternative is the normalization of Ciliwung River segment MT. Haryono to Manggarai Sluice. The volume on the main channel is 1.730.520 m 3 and overflow did not occur. High water level at observation point P-174 and P-1 respectifely are +14,05 m and +8,76 m the average water level lossis 4,57 m with construction costs 694.668.698.520,55 IDR.Keywords :Flood control, Ciliwung River, reduction of overflow, cost.

Abstract

As a multipurpose dam makes Wonogiri experiencing various problems during operation, the main problem is sedimentation. Therefore the propertly sediment handling is necessary, one of them by doing routine dredging annually. In this study had four alternatives simulation time dredging sediment and dredger addition, further determined that the most effective alternative based on useful life and its economic value. Based on the calculation of sedimentation analysis, economic analysis, and the effectiveness analysis showed that the most feasible alternative is alternative 4, but because it is not profitable for the management of reservoirs, so the recommended alternative is 3, in addition to increasing the useful life of reservoir up to 14.74%, alternative 3 is also more effective economically 10,57% than alternative 1, with the B-C value is Rp. 6.608.820.242.046,-, B/C ratio is 2,79, IRR value is 13,23%, and the B-C value for increased the useful life of reservoir for 5 years is Rp. 1.214.080.491.633,-. Abstract

Tugu Dam is designed to be built in Keser River of Trenggalek city in East Java Province. The contruction of Trenggalek Dam is planned such as flood control in Trenggalek City, in addition to water supply, irrigation, hydropower and electrical energy. The spillway of the dam is designed using side channel spillway provided by straight chute. One of the important stage in these activities is a physical hydraulic model test. The model test is to evaluate and to achieve the perfect, safe and optimum hydraulic design of the spillway that conducted in the river and swamp laboratory, Water Resources Departement. The model is using undistorted model with scale of 1 to 50. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the hydraulic performance of the original design is good, but extremely high speed in the end of chute more than 25 m/s. In order to improve the hydraulic design, it is recommended to modify the stilling basin with Bremen Modification Type. Bremen Modfication Stilling Basin is similar with plunge pool design. Keywords : spillway, stilling basin, Bremen Modification

Abstract

The purpose of the investigation of the physical model of Karangnongko barrage Phase I is to study the hydraulics flow conditions in the river due to the influence of the barrage and to determine the capacity of the gate to control and regulate the flow rate during the dry and rainy seasons. While the objectives of this investigation hydraulics physical model is to provide suggestions for improvements of design and recommendations of design in terms of hydraulics aspects of Karangnongko barrage. Three important points that obtained from the results of testing and analysis are as follows: On each gate opening operation does not cause symptoms of vortex and directions distribution of equitable velocity both upstream and downstream of the gates; Does not occur overtopping on the upstream of barrage when the flowing of discharge Q PMF and PMF REGIONAL , because the highest water level in the barrage upstream on +41.00 and +37.30 in the river downstream when the gate is fully opened; To avoid the vortex flow in the stilling basin it is recommended that operate 9 units barrage gate with openings evenly. With details of water level in the upstream +38.00 at the beginning of the rainy season, +40.00 during the dry season, and +41.00 during the flood discharge.Key words: Karangnongko barrage dam, the physical model test, design change.
