Abstract

The objective of the research is to study the empirical relationships  between knowledge of environment (X1), motivation health of life (X2), with act of cleanship at school area (Y). The research consists of 100 respondents with multistage random sampling.technique. The research concludes that there are positive correlations between : (1) knowledge of environment with  act of cleanship at school area , (2) motivation health of life with act of cleanship at school area , (3) There are positive relationships between  knowledge of environment, motivation health of life with act of cleanship at school area. Based on the hypothesis test, the findings showed that first, concerning of level knowledge about the environment (X1) has a positive relationship with students’ behavior in the school environment (Y), with a correlation coefficient (ry1) of 0.470 and the regression equation Y = 0.470 + 0.529 X1 Thus the environmental knowledge  determines the behavior of students in school hygiene. Second, the motivation to live healthy has a positive relationship with the behavior of students in the school environment (Y), with a correlation coefficient (ry2) = 0.567 and the regression equation Y = 41.961 + 0.501 X2 Thus the motivation to live healthy determine the behavior of students in the school hygiene. Third, the environmental knowledge (X1) and the motivation of healthy life (X2) have a positive relationship with the behavior of students in the school environment (Y), indicated by the correlation coefficient (ry12) = 0.45 and multiple regression Y = 16.90 +0.40 +0.38 X1 X2. Thus the environmental knowledge determines the motivation to live healthy and it has contribution significantly to the behavior of students in the school environment hygiene. It can be concluded that the students’ behavior toward the school environment can be created through improving the environmental knowledge and strengthening the motivation to live healthy. Key words: motivation, environment, behavior

Abstract

Presence of water on earth not all of them can be used by living beings, especially humans. Watershed Loano Hulu is one of the watershed located in Central Java province. Loano DAS has a function for the area underneath. For the study of water balance is necessary to know the potential of water in the watershed, thereby criticality index can be determined so that the water in the watershed can be determined for watershed management measures are to be maintained. The purpose of this study is to determine the Water Holding Capacity (WHC) at the sites and determine the Water Balance. The research was conducted in the Upper Basin Loano Purworejo in Central Java Province. The research activities carried out in June 2009. The method used in the implementation of this study using the Thornthwaite-Mather. Data obtained on the basis of data WHC soil texture and extensive vegetation cover or land use, but it also needs climate data. Based on the results of the calculation results obtained WHC Loano watershed upstream of 245 mm. The size of the WHC reflects both the poor condition of a watershed. If the WHC of the watershed condition is very good, because it can save large amounts of water. Conversely the small WHC watershed condition is not good then it means the ability to store water is a small watershed. WHC value of  245 mm for the watershed Loano Hulu reflect the ability of the watershed to store water is high enough, so that the watershed is included in the DAS good condition. In meteorological amount of rainfall that occurred in the Upper Basin Loano big enough in January to reach 400 mm, the amount of rain up in June is still able to compensate for potential evapotranspiration occurs. Water deficit occurred during the five months from June to October occurred. Evapotranspiration that occurs less than the rainfall that occurred, so the watershed is a meteorologist had a surplus of water. Key words: soil, landuse, water holding capacity, water balance

Abstract

Protection and development of local-breed breed is very important because it can utilize low-quality feed and are more resistant to environmental stress and disease. It is very important also for the development and utilization of local breeds because they are very well adapted to their environment, with a very limited nature and management are very low. The method used was literature study, which is to identify how the environmental effects toward the phenotypic Plasticity livestock. The results of research showed that the phenotypic and genotypic expression is caused by environmental factors such as pathogen infection or a biotic factors (light, temperature, oxygen, drought, nutrients) as well as the use of biotechnology through genetic engineering (gene recombination), gene expression conducted in two stages, transcription and translation. Protein synthesis mechanisms controlling gene regulated by the regulator (regulator gene), gene operator (operator gene), and gene structure (structural gene). On one way to regulate the effectiveness of the enzyme by  genetic control, development of farm businesses in areas that have problems due to a less than optimal environment, it can develop local cattle. Keywords: environment, phenotypic plasticity, livestock.

Abstract

Halmahera Timur district is one of North Maluku Provincie districts having a huge potential of natural resources. One of them is nickel. Mining and quarry sectors constribute  17.66 % of the gross domestik regional income (PDRB) in Halmahera Timurdistrict. Is that any impact of PT. Antam activities  on income of the local community. The objective of this research was to find out inpacts of PT. Antam on income of localcommunity of Maba sub-district in Halmahera Timur district. This research was conducted in of maba sub-district, Halmahera Timur district North Maluku Provinci were  PT. Aneka Tambang is located. Data were gathered by interviewing 70 local respondents. Income education and level of emlpoyment data after the operation of PT. Antam wee collected during fieldwork. Income data was used as dependent variable. The were analysed using least squareRegresion/Ordinary least square with ioncome fungtion equals to F (level of education and employment). The results showed that level of education was statistically significant and positive to the improvement of local income in maba sub-district. Through coolporate Social responsibility(CSR) activities delivered by PT. Antam local people were provided with scholarship tocontinue their study. There fore, thre has been improvement in level of education of the local people. This  in the employment level and local income. How ever, it was found that job recruitment had no significant effects on level of local income. This is because not all local people work for PT. Antam. It  Can be concluded that improvement in local income had a significant effect on economic growth of all sector at at the and 2010. Economic growth of the district was 3.75 %. It is suggested that PT.Antam should inprove the company community development project especially in its education and health programs Key words: Impact, PT. Aneka Tambang, Incam

Abstract

The coastal area represents to a dynamic ecosystem, devided to the coastal land and coastal waters subsystem which each other interconnected. The ecosystem interconnected in environmental represents to a dynamic environmental systems process, where change that happened at one ecosystem will be influence and/or influenced by other ecosystem. The coastal area ecosystem of Kenjeran contaminated by heavy metal cadmium (Cd), its caused by development activity to both subsystem. To dissolve this problem, needed integrated and sustainable management of coastal area ecosystem with the system dynamic approach. This research aim are; (1) analysing amount heavy metals Cd from development activity (insudtrial) at Kenjeran channel, (2) analysing water, sediment quality at Kenjeran channel and water, sediment, bivalvia quality at Kenjeran estuary, and (3) modeling the management of coastal area ecosystem of Kenjeran with Vensim 5.0 software from High Performance System.Method of intake sample waters and sediment conducted to the integrated sampling system, while intake of sample bivalvia in Kenjeran estuary conducted to random. Hereinafter from concentration Cd data obtained, analysed by 2 way of, that is; (1) the statistically use ANOVA, and (2) comparing concentration Cd with water quality and industrial waste standard. Management of coastal area ecosystem of Kenjeran conducted to the system approach, modeling dynamic system to environmental, economic, and population aspect. From result obtained, that industrial waste of electroplating have the cadmium content of mean equaled to 0,0830 mg/ liter, waste of printing office industrial 0,0731 mg/liter, waste of plastic industrial 0,0060 mg/liter and waste of food indutrial 0,0066 mg/liter. The content of cadmium at stream water and sediment in channel of Kenjeran  are 0,0295 mg/liter and 3,8056 mg/liter. While, cadmium content in Kenjeran estuary to each component are 0,0327 mg/liter at sea water, 0,4816 mg/liter at sediment and 0,2081 mg/liter at bivalvia. Scenario simulation of Early Model (without environmental expense) economical profit equaled to Rp. 294.525.000, however, environmental aspect there is tendency to the environmental degradation of coastal area of Kenjeran equaled to Rp. 21.870.000 at the last simulation (20 year) and is not self-financing. So that local government will be non-stoped ladened with the environmental management costs equaled to Rp. 179.633.000. Population increased every year progressively which at the last simulation equaled to 286537 people. It also had contribution to degradation area equaled to Rp.3.581.710. While, result of scenario  simulation 1 (with the environmental expense) equaled to 20 %, yield the clean benefit value of economics activity equaled to Rp. 208.745.000 and the environmental degradation of became Rp. 2.551.420 at the last simulation (20 year). Keywords:  Management, The coastal area ecosystem of Kenjeran, Dynamic System, Cadmium (Cd).
