Abstract

Marine pollution can have a negative impact on aquaculture. For this reason, an appropriate and precise compensation calculation formula is needed. This study aims to formulate a formula for compensation calculating for aquaculture by reconstructing formula in PermenLH No. 7/2014. The reconstruction of formula was analyzed descriptively qualitatively with an expert judgement approach. The results showed that production data was a key factor in the reconstruction of compensation calculation formula. There are three reconstruction results formulas, namely compensation formula for aquaculture whose production data is available before and after pollution; compensation formula for aquaculture which only production data is available before pollution; and compensation formula for aquaculture which production data are not available

Abstract

One of the functions of the coastal ecosystem is to produce environmental services that can be used for marine tourism. Oil pollution incidents at the sea have caused a decline in the quality of marine tourism objects, thus reducing the number of visitors arriving and then it has implications for decreasing the income of the people who do business at tourist area. The community's claim for immediate compensation payments requires a faster calculation method. The purpose of this research is to develop a method of assessing the economic compensation for marine tourism businesses that are affected by incidents of oil pollution at the sea. The type of this research is descriptive research. The data consists of primary data and secondary data. The steps required in calculating compensation are (1) identifying tourism businesses, (2) building a theoretical concept of compensation, (3) determining the legal basis for calculating compensation, and (4) Designing a compensation formula. The application of the five compensation calculation formulas requires 18 variables. By taking the case of an oil spill incident in the North Sea of Karawang which has an impact on Tanjung Pakis beach tourism, an estimate of the value of compensation (Rp/day) is obtained for the buoy rental service business is Rp 111,323.08, for bathroom services business is Rp 69,504.62, for food/beverage trading business on a small scale is Rp 71,510.77 and for food/beverage trading business on a large scale is Rp 188,569.23. For the next stage, the implementation of compensation needs to be verified against the impacted community and the payment mechanism so that it is right on target.

Abstract

The maritime potential of the Fisheries Managemen Area of Indonesia (FMA) 711, particularly in the small pelagic capture fisheries sector is very large, it encourages the occurrence of illegal fishing conducted by Indonesian and foreign fishing boats, thereby reducing the production of legal fish catches. This study aims to estimate economic losses due to illegal fishing and the benefits of economic management by staying based on the sustainability of fishery resources, using primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through interviews, fishermen questionnaire results and marine supervisors from July to November 2016. Secondary data, in the form of production statistics and small pelagic capture fishery effort in FMA 711 from Directorate General of Capture Fisheries, MMAF-Indonesia, illegal fishing catch data from the Fisheries Resources Monitoring Station Pontianak, the Indonesian Navy, the Water Police Unit, and Bakamla. The data series of 2005 to 2016 were also analyzed. Estimates of established models, including bio-economic analysis using the Gordon Schaefer model, and for economic benefit analysis using Fox's surplus production model. The results show the production amount 15,361 tons and effort 4,592 units, with economic rent of Rp 293.93 billion per year. While the economic losses due to illegal fishing are the difference between legal and illegal fishing estimates, ie production of 604 tonnes and rents of Rp 12.89 billion. This illustrates that the production and efforts of small pelagic capture fisheries in WPPNRI 711 can still be improved to reach the optimum level.

Abstract

The current sustainable development that the Indonesian government is paying attention to is the development of the tourism sector, one of which is establishing the Alas Purwo National Park (TNAP) as a National Tourism Development Area (KPPN). The determination of the TNAP area as a tourist attraction at the national level opens opportunities and a driving force for the TNAP buffer villages to become a development target that focuses on community empowerment and regional development based on regional resource potential. This study aims to analyze the potential objects and tourist attractions in the TNAP buffer village and to find out the perception and readiness of the community towards tourism development in the buffer village. The results of the analysis show that the TNAP buffer village has potential resources that are feasible to be developed as tourist objects and attractions. There are villages that have ODTW potential, including 3 villages with very potential (SP), 1 village potential (P), 4 villages with less potential (KP), and 4 villages that do not have ODTW potential. Tourism development must provide space for people around tourist objects to participate in tourism. The results of the assessment of the perceptions and readiness of the TNAP village community for tourism development illustrate that the community agrees with tourism development in the village. Communities involved in tourism development can respond positively in supporting tourism development activities.

Abstract

Shorea leprosula Miq is a Dipterocarps forest plantation that has the prospect of being developed because it is a fast-growing species with high economic value. Given its commercial importance, this study was conducted to analyze the effect of slope class and slope direction on growth. Data were collected using the census method on S.leprosula stands with a spacing of 2m x 2m and 4m x 8m. The direction of the slope is determined based on the configuration of the slope according to the cardinal directions, while the slope of the land is determined based on the classification of the slope class of the land. The results showed that the slope class, slope direction, and the interaction between factors had a significant effect on the growth of S.leprosula. The interaction between the slope class and the direction of the slope produces the highest average annual increment of diameter in the flat slope class with the direction of the slope facing north, which is 1.79 m / year while the highest annual increment of the total average height is in the very steep slope class with to the slope facing to the north at 0.82 m / year.
