Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a development plan for sharia-based MSMEs in Tebing Tinggi City to encourage more equitable and inclusive regional economic development. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Five MSMEs that have implemented sharia principles in their operations were observed and interviewed to collect data. The collected data were then analyzed thematically to identify trends, obstacles, and development tactics. The study findings demonstrate that sharia-based MSMEs in Tebing Tinggi City have adopted Islamic values such as being free from usury, using halal materials, and contributing to social welfare. However, they still face significant challenges such as limited access to sharia financing, a lack of Islamic economic literacy, and suboptimal utilization of digitalization. Recommended development strategies include improving sharia literacy, partnerships with Islamic financial institutions, training in digitalization and halal marketing, and facilitating halal certification. An integrative approach based on spiritual values, technology, and institutionalization is needed to strengthen the competitiveness of sharia-based MSMEs sustainably. This study contributes to the strategic framework for sharia-based MSME development at the regional level, integrated with Islamic economic principles and local challenges. The uniqueness of this study lies in the focus on the local context of Tebing Tinggi City and the direct interview approach to formulate sustainable strategies. Keywords: Sharia-compliant MSMEs, development strategy, finance, local economy, Tebing Tinggi City

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a development strategy for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on the Pentahelix approach to reduce unemployment in Tebing Tinggi City. The Pentahelix approach involves five main elements: academics, businesses, communities, government, and mentors, who collaborate in the local economic development process. The methodology is a qualitative one, including statistical data, questionnaires, in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observation as data collecting methods. The strategy is analyzed using the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) framework and the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) principle, which includes social (people), environmental (planet), and economic (profit) aspects. The analysis results show that the combination strategy of Opportunities + Aspirations (OA) is the most optimal approach, with the highest score in the IFAS and EFAS analyses. The OA strategy is considered capable of utilizing external opportunities such as technological innovation, strategic partnerships, community collaboration, and policy support, to realize the aspirations of sustainable community economic empowerment. These findings demonstrate the importance of cross-sector collaboration in encouraging MSME growth as a strategic solution to reduce unemployment in the region. Keywords: MSMEs, Pentahelix, Unemployment, SOAR

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, lifestyle, price, and fashion trends on Muslim fashion purchasing decisions by Generation Z in Medan City. The method used is a quantitative approach with SEM-PLS analysis techniques through SmartPLS 4 software and involving 100 respondents. The results show that religiosity, lifestyle, and fashion trends have a significant influence on purchasing decisions, while price does not show a significant influence. The R² value of 57.3% indicates that the model can explain more than half of the variation in purchasing decisions. This finding reflects that Gen Z prioritizes religious aspects and lifestyle over price considerations, which is in line with the principles of consumption in Islamic economics namely, orientation towards needs, ethical values, and compliance with sharia. Keywords: Muslim fashion, religiosity, lifestyle, price, fashion trends, purchasing decisions

Abstract

Sofyan Travel, a 15-year-old travel transportation business, has faced significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic and increased digital competition. This study uses a qualitative case study approach to analyze Sofyan Travel's business strategy using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). The results show that the BMC approach enables the company to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats through nine key elements, such as customer segmentation, value proposition, distribution channels, and cost structure. The strategy focuses on personalized service, operational efficiency, service digitalization, and strategic partnerships. The implementation of the BMC has proven effective in increasing business competitiveness and sustainability by adapting conventional models to modern market needs. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of organizational justice and organizational culture on the psychological contract, with work-life balance as a mediating variable among employees of CV Media Gravika Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative method with a survey approach, the research involved 45 permanent employees selected through a census technique. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results show that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on the psychological contract, indicating that a supportive and value-driven work environment strengthens employees' perceptions of mutual obligations with the organization. Organizational justice is also found to significantly influence work-life balance, suggesting that fair treatment and transparent policies contribute to employees' ability to manage work and personal life demands. However, work-life balance does not mediate the relationship between either organizational justice or organizational culture and the psychological contract, indicating that the psychological contract is shaped more strongly by direct organizational practices than by employees' perceptions of work-life harmony. These findings highlight the importance of fostering fairness and cultivating a constructive organizational culture to enhance employee commitment, trust, and psychological attachment, ultimately supporting a more harmonious, motivated, and productive organizational climate.

Abstract

The rapid development of business competition and workforce dynamics in the industrial era requires organizations to strengthen employee commitment as a key factor in achieving sustainability. Organizational commitment is closely related to employees' perceptions of fairness, balance between work and personal life, and job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational justice, work-life balance, and job satisfaction on organizational commitment among employees of CV. Media Grafika Yogyakarta. The research employed a quantitative approach with a census method involving 45 employees as respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS version 3. The results reveal that organizational justice and work-life balance do not have a significant effect on organizational commitment, while job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, the three independent variables have a positive effect on organizational commitment, with an R-square value of 0.561, indicating that 56.1 percent of the variance in organizational commitment is explained by these factors.

Abstract

This research tends to examine the extent to which internship experience, career guidance, and self-efficacy influenced students’ work readiness. The research involved 72 respondents who were college students of class of 2021 in the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, at Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University, Yogyakarta. Data were collected by distributing online questionnaires using Google Forms. The sampling method applied was non-probability sampling with an incidental approach. The collected data were examined using SPSS version 26. The outcomes indicate that internship experience, career guidance, and self-efficacy have a positive and significant effect on students’ work readiness. Therefore, these three factors are essential to be developed and strengthened in order to arrange students for the challenges of the professional field. This study implies that improving students' work readiness is not only the responsibility of individual students, but also of the university as a whole. Universities must create an educational environment that supports the growth of competence, confidence, and readiness to face the work field.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of self-efficacy, work discipline, and perceived organizational support (POS) on affective commitment among employees of PDAM Tirta Handayani, Gunungkidul Regency. As a public water utility, the organization faces complex operational challenges, including sustainable drinking water management, service reliability, and serving a large, diverse customer base. Understanding determinants of affective commitment is crucial, as employees' emotional attachment drives service quality, organizational stability, and long-term performance. The research investigates how self-efficacy, work discipline, and POS individually and collectively shape employees' emotional bonds with the organization. A quantitative approach was employed, collecting primary data from PDAM employees via a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data analysis used SPSS version 26, including validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity), and multiple linear regression. Hypothesis testing involved t-tests and F-tests to ensure result robustness.Findings reveal that self-efficacy has no significant effect on affective commitment, indicating personal confidence alone is insufficient in this context. Conversely, work discipline and POS exert strong positive influences. Overall, these variables collectively enhance affective commitment, underscoring the vital role of organizational practices and support systems in public service entities.
