Abstract

Agricultural production is vital for income and food security in rural areas. However, in Manyaran District, Wonogiri Regency's rice farming livelihoods are increasingly threatened by climate change, environmental pressures, and policy shifts. This study evaluates the vulnerability of rice farmers' livelihoods using the Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI) and the LVI-IPCC framework. Data were gathered from 42 randomly selected households in seven villages, revealing an LVI score of 0.61 and an LVI-IPCC score of 0.04, indicating medium vulnerability to climate change. Key factors contributing to livelihood vulnerability include exposure to droughts, floods, pests, rising rice production costs, and climate variability. Adaptations include strong social networks, technological innovations like simple irrigation systems, and ecological adjustments like crop diversification with alternative and horticultural crops. The study recommends that the government enhance support for farmers in downstream areas by improving irrigation infrastructure, increasing reservoirs and wells, and providing training for developing home-based food industries. These measures are intended to bolster resilience and adaptation in agricultural livelihoods amidst environmental and policy challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital Islamic financial literacy, risk perception, and religiosity on investment interest in Islamic mutual funds among FEBI UIN Sumatera Utara students. The digital era has transformed the landscape of the Islamic financial industry, but the low level of Islamic financial literacy (9.1%) poses a challenge in the development of Islamic investment. This study uses a quantitative explanatory approach with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique based on Partial Least Square (PLS) through the SmartPLS 4 application. The research sample consisted of 98 FEBI UIN Sumatera Utara students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through an online questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-5. The results showed that digital Islamic financial literacy had a positive and significant effect on investment interest in Islamic mutual funds with a parameter coefficient of 0.552 and an effect size (f²) of 0.483 (a large effect). Religiosity also had a positive and significant effect, with a parameter coefficient of 0.280 and an effect size (f²) of 0.128 (moderate effect). Conversely, risk perception did not significantly influence investment interest in Islamic mutual funds, with a P-value of 0.267 and an effect size (f²) of 0.006 (very small effect). The research model was able to explain 59.8% of the variation in investment interest in Islamic mutual funds (R² = 0.598). These findings indicate that increasing digital Islamic financial literacy and strengthening religious values are more effective in encouraging investment interest in Islamic mutual funds than focusing on investment risk aspects. Keywords: Digital Islamic Financial Literacy, Risk Perception, Religiosity, Investment Interest, Islamic Mutual Funds

Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EI) is a critical component of development for elementary school children, shaping their ability to identify, regulate, and express emotions appropriately. A strategic aspect of this process is the role of parents as primary educators. This study aims to examine how parents contribute to developing EI in elementary school students in Puncak Indah Village. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with five families of elementary school children as key informants. The findings reveal that most parents actively serve as role models, mentors, facilitators, and motivators—demonstrating emotional regulation, providing consistent praise and motivation, and applying rational discipline. Despite challenges such as children’s gadget dependence and difficulties in managing social emotions, parents strive to create a supportive emotional environment. The study concludes that active parental involvement significantly enhances children’s EI development, underscoring the family’s role as the foundation for early character education.

Abstract

PT X is a textile manufacturing company known as a prominent producer of woven sarongs. Among its various brands, the X sarong is the flagship product due to its high market value. Despite its large production scale, inefficiencies in the form of waste were detected within the production process. In this study, waste assessment model is applied to detect and categorize different kinds of inefficiencies or waste present in a process. The production flow is visualized using value stream mapping, and the value stream analysis tools are implemented to evaluate each process activity and identify its value added contribution. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) identifies the main causes of inefficiencies, and the 5W + 1H method is applied to formulate improvement strategies. WAM results indicate the highest to lowest waste percentages are: overproduction (22%), defects (20%), inventory (19%), transportation (15%), motion (13%), waiting (8%), and overprocessing (4%). Based on the proposed improvements, 14 non-value-added activities were eliminated, reducing total activities from 133 to 114 and cutting the process time by 139 minutes—from 3,853 to 3,714 minutes. Following the improvements, the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) analysis reveals a rise in Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE), improving from 67.5% to 70%, demonstrating a positive impact in minimizing waste and enhancing production efficiency.
